    Birthday cake

I ordered a birthday cake for a special birthday and it was so beautiful! Everyone loved the detailed wildflowers on it, and it tasted delicious too! The price was also very reasonable. Thank you!!!

A great longtime business in Joliet that makes all kinds of baked goods. It has coffee if you need something along with a piece of cake or a pastry. Milano Bakery is a good place for getting customized orders that are made artfully well. Cool old school looking place but don't let that turn you away. The smells are another reason to come here. It has lots of great services provided including of course making customized cakes. Prices for things here are fairly good compared to most bakeries around here. They also have coffee if you need to drink something. If in need of something smaller there's also doughnuts. They have a pretty basic but still plentiful selection. Also get simple everyday items like bread. They bake everything fresh every morning. A highlight is getting a smell of the freshly baked items. It's a classic kind of old school bakery with all the favorites that generations have come to in the morning. Take a trip and go take a whiff.

Communion cake. White with raspberry mousse.

The communion cake I ordered turned out beautiful and the raspberry mousse was delicious. Well worth the drive. The cookies I got were gobbled up as well. Everyone loved the dessert. I will be ordering more cakes for sure. Make sure to call and confirm everything. Name was not on the cake and I had to have it added before I left the store. Turned out a little off center but everything else was perfect.

Ordered my daughter's birthday cake for a Valentine's Day themed party and it turned out fabulous. They have the best atomic cake and everyone enjoyed it. They only charged me $5 extra for decorating. The entire cake cost me a 1/4 of the cost compared to other bakeries in the area. My only complaint is they were hard to get a hold of via email.

This is my second trip to this Joliet bakery. Last time I had the cookies, this time I purchased the death by chocolate which is their twist on a donut with a chocolate pie inside. I also purchased a small chocolate pie. Both were very good!

    Whipped Cream? Atomic cake inside.

First timers here. I really wanted an authentic whipped cream cake for my birthday. So I ordered the whipped cream Automic cake. It's more like a whip cream FLAVOR frosting and for the whole 9" cake it seems like barely any fruit inside. For a $60 birthday cake and first impressions mean alot to me NO we will NOT be back. We drove 16 miles to get to and fro Day before purchased nice pastry squares ( cheese & additional fruit including 2 cherry) so EXPENSIVE. I shared 1 cherry w.my daughter and she reported a small very hard ( prbly a pit) she chewed on and sunk in a tooth tht she had to dig out! I informed the very young lady in front of bakery and she just gave me a far off unconcerned look and said O. If my daughter's tooth broke tht O wld have turned into an O!!!!! Sorry!! Won't happen again! To the staff here: when customer's request whipped cream...they mean WHIPPED CREAM us old schooler's are used to from back in the day. I will save my money and make my own. Thank you. We work hard for our money. Although we appreciate your effort it just did not give me that phenomenal impression that would keep me coming back AGAIN and again. Picture shows very thin scarce banana strawberry only in middle .

I have not been here in decades and it has not changed much the pastries and donuts as well as the breads bring back memories. I was in the area and had to stop and take a look-see. I parked on the side of the building and walked in and it was like I stepped back in time... all of my favorites seem to still be there so I ordered a chocolate cake donut and a water ...trying to eat healthy. The donut tasted great it melted in my mouth just as I remembered. I will be back.

a birthday cake on a plate

Solid bakery that's been around forever. The cake pictured is a top layer white cake with a chocolate fudge filling and chocolate bottom layer with buttercream frosting. It tasted amazing and didn't have a single slice leftover. We also enjoyed the snickerdoodle cookies, loaf of sourdough bread, fresh pretzels, donuts and fritters. Literally everything is great here.

Here's the $40 6" cake, with the wrong icing. How could we know?

I arrived and noticed the bakery was fully stocked with every kind of Mexican bread and also they sell tortas. I decided to have a torta cubana instead of a tamal. While the guy cooked my food I started grabbing some bread to take home. The first one I grabbed was soft but then I went to grab a different kind and it hard as a rock. I checked every bread I was going to grab and they where hard. This bread is not fresh and not even a day old. This bread has to have a couple days since it has been sitting. I had grabbed a couple breads so I had to purchase them as soon as I got out the place I threw them out. I get to work to eat my lunch and the torta has a weird smell so I opened it up and it was rotten onion and tomato with dark brown aguacate. Then the ham or whatever it is had a layer of grease. I didn't eat it. I wasted close to 30 bucks for this horrible food. I don't recommend buying anything here. The place was super clean and had a bunch of employees but how are you going to be serving this rotten food and hard bread. Whoever owns this place has to see what's going on here because maybe your going to loose customers and if you are happy with what your selling it's super sad and this business ain't for you.

He frequently brought up politics, demographics, and "statistics" at work in ways that felt inappropriate and often came across as biased. It wasn't the kind of environment I expected from a workplace. I personally chose not to engage with these conversations because I was there to work, and I try to keep my personal beliefs separate from my workplace. However, being repeatedly exposed to these types of comments from management made the environment feel unprofessional. I also noticed that he would tell us certain employees had quit, but after speaking with those employees, I learned that was not always what happened. This made me feel like there was a lack of honesty and transparency in how situations were handled. One comment that really stuck with me was when he told me and another young female employee that we'd be prettier if we spoke more intelligently and that men would like us more. We are both very young girls, and that comment was incredibly inappropriate and made us uncomfortable. I was also told that if I came in early every day, I would receive a $1 raise. I did exactly that, and I received the raise on my final paycheck. Just a few days later, I was fired. It was confusing to be recognized with a raise and then immediately let go without being given a meaningful explanation. I was told I was being fired because I supposedly had an attitude with a customer. When I asked what had happened, I wasn't given a clear explanation and was simply told they had decided not to continue my employment. I work hard, take my jobs seriously, and I rarely leave negative reviews because I know everyone is trying their best. I didn't contact them afterward because I felt I had already been treated disrespectfully. After the way I was spoken to and the lack of honest communication, I didn't feel another conversation would have changed anything. As a customer, I also found the food to be average, especially for the price. Before I even worked here, my mom and I had cheesecake from the café on a few different occasions, and every time it had a noticeable freezer-burn taste. For the prices they charge, I expected much better quality. Based on my experience as both an employee and a customer, I would encourage people to support another family-owned café instead.
