Recently came here during Corn Fest to try out some of the cookies featured here. They had a few pumpkin varieties and stuff fall related but my issue that I had was that a lot of the stuff was not labeled so I didn't know what cookie was what. Staff here was moderately friendly but thankfully the cookies were pretty cheap and they were a decent snack for the road. Overall, not a bad place to check out. read more

My husband picked up a box of donuts from here this morning. Just the basic kind of donuts, no special ones. I picked out the vanilla long John and the entire thing tasted oddly like buttered popcorn. Didn't hate it, it was just strange. My hometown (Morris Bakery) out does thereself with my birthday cake. I wanted something different for my sixty-eighth birthday. I've been a Starbucks drinker since the company started business, students and their families always got me Starbucks mugs, all sorts of items. So, I saw this picture of a cake they had made. I ordered it and it was outstanding. It was a white cake with frosting and all Starbucks logos. I served it to my senior group here in Chicago, where I volunteer at lunchtime to provide a hot nourish meal for them. We had no leftovers. It was sweet, moist, and so good. First of all, I will say that the items i purchased from here were good (blueberry donut, fluffer nutter bar, and a scone) the service was terrible! The blonde woman working has the worst attitude. There weren't any signs on any of the items so when I would ask what each thing was she was annoyed?? Like visibly over it. Maybe put a effing sign on it and I wouldn't have to bother you so much (it's your job so maybe find a different one). The food was pretty good but the service alone makes me never want to come back. Went to this bakery on a Tuesday very friendly. Spent seven dollars on two items. was the cinnamon which was very excellent. The other was a caramel sticky bun, which was kind of disappointing. Especially recommended are the blueberry and apple fritters (especially if you warm them up) and the ever-loved "dots", which are chocolate frosted with a center dollop of vanilla frosting. In the last few months, the coffee has gotten really good, which I didn't like very much in years past. And it's really fun if you get to sit at one of the tables in the old display windows. We are the people that you probably want to kill because we sometimes bring in extra doughnuts to church so usually we will call the day before, but once or twice we have taken the last 3 dozen, hey man the early bird gets the worm. They won't hold anything via prepay due to the "owner's policy", so I arrived at 5am when they opened to find they had zero donuts or coffee cakes ready. I specifically drove 30 minutes each way for the coffee cake which they said wouldn't be ready for at least another hour. Why open when you don't have the primary items ready for customers (I was not the only person there at 5 for the same thing).
