The restaurant as very clean and the staff were very friendly but the food will be the reason I return if I'm ever back in the area again. The menu is very diverse. It has just about everything on it. I had not had a hot meal that didn't come out of a box and a microwave for a few days. I ordered the chicken tenders. It came with fries and soup. You could choose from French Onion or Chicken & Rice. I chose the chicken & rice. I should've just ordered the soup because the chicken & rice hit the spot. It tasted homemade and it was hot on a VERY cold day. I hadn't ordered chicken tenders in awhile because they are so common and rather blah. These were different though. They were battered in something that was like tempura. They were excellent. My only complaint is that I had too much food and couldn't eat them all. I've also gotten to where fries don't excite me any more. They are often bland. While these were incredible, they weren't bland and were very good. I paid with cash which knocked 3.5% off my bill, so get some cash before you go. The cost was reasonable as well. In total, my meal was just under $14. This was a great meal! Highly recommend!

There were only two high school-aged employees working and just one other customer in the entire place -- it wasn't busy. There's no excuse for zero service under those conditions. We finally walked out. If you can't manage basic customer service with almost no customers, that's a serious problem.

What a great experience. Definitely a place stop by if you have kids. Very informative and tons of…read morethings for the kids to do. We spent the whole day there. Learned about cows, how they are milked. They also have a robotic farm and we learned how that runs and learned about pigs and watched a cow birth a baby. Everything is well done and organized. The food there is also very good. My kids loved the pulled pork. I thought the burger was very good.

Stopped here for a break and lunch while passing through Indiana. The Farmhouse Restaurant menu…read moresaid they offer a "quick & casual lunch" and well, they weren't lying about the casual part... We ordered two lunches, both the 1/2 grilled cheese and soup. One with tomato soup and the other with chili. We also ordered the *special* $5 egg salad sandwich. The grilled cheese came out as some cheese microwaved between a soft burger bun. Really disappointing and crappy. The chili and soup were okay. The egg salad sandwich was very basic and lacking flavor, served on classic white bread. It was also a weird dining setup, it felt like we were eating in a giant and deserted beer hall. Total transparency: we both expected more from one of the nation's largest dairy farms. We also thought the food would be a little cleaner, like a farm-to-table experience and less processed, but it tasted like food we could get at a gas station. My husband was disappointed with the ice cream selection at the milk bar, he was hoping for more of a variety other than the basic strawberry, chocolate, vanilla, etc. We also needed to get DEF for our truck from the Fair Oaks BP and my husband called it "highway robbery" for the cost we paid. He said it was 2 or 3 times what he normally pays. In summary, a total tourist trap with crappy lunch food. I also didn't know about their animal abuse case from 2019 until after we left. And the allegations about neglect and improper slaughter in 2023. Gross and sad.
