We had a really great lunch here. My husband loves a diner and I was happy to oblige when looking for a new place to eat today. And we really lucked out. We were warmly greeted on entering. They were pretty busy the whole time we were there. You can tell they get a lot of "regulars". The menu is large: lots of breakfast and lunch options. With a huge blackboard on the wall with daily specials listed. Service was wonderful, also. Attentive and caring. My husband ordered the meatloaf dinner with mashed potatoes and broccoli. He got gravy on the side. I'm guessing he liked it as there was not a crumb left on his plate when done. I ordered the chicken pot pie from the daily specials board. It wasn't as expected, but quite good. The top "crust" of the "pie" (served in a long oval dish) was a few layers of filo dough. Underneath were a lot of nice chunks of white meat chicken, peas, and other veggies. All in a cream of chicken like sauce that was very good. Forgot to mention that the pot pie came with a cup of soup. There were three choices and I got the Greek lemon soup. It needed an extra squeeze of lemon and a dash of salt, but it was decent. For dessert, we wanted to try their coconut cake, but they were out. (They close at 3). We settled for sharing a slice of some warm apple pie with whipped cream on the side. The pie was good. Breakfast specials look great. And there are a lot of other lunch items I'd like to try here as well. This is a keeper. read more

I think the food was OK, nothing particularly special here. I had the grilled Mahi sandwich and fries for $19... thought the portion of fish could be bigger and the subway tomato slice was anorexic.. the fish served on a generic hamburger bun, c'mon? Fries ok, something that should be better at a good diner... Wife had an egg salad sandwich and a cup of minestrone soup. Sandwich looked ok and ingredients in minestrone soup looked very overcooked. Cute place tucked away off the beaten path in a strip mall on Belvedere Rd. I was returning home after a 10am early release from Jury Duty and Dontee's Diner struck the right nerve. Dontee's Diner is an unassuming building in a strip mall shopping area. Inside there is an old school counter and then a smattering of booths and tables. They have typical diner fare, with an extensive breakfast and lunch menu. The service was fast and our food got to us quickly. The portions were large, the food was delicious, and the prices were modest. My only regret is that I was there during lent and had given up sweets so I couldn't try one of their pies. read more

I started my Easter Sunday at Dontee's and so did many others! It is obviously well loved b/c they never disappoint. I had my usual--corned beef hash, grits, eggs and raisin toast. After arriving in Palm Beach early morning, Dontee's was our first stop to get some breakfast. It is only 7 minutes from PBI, a local favorite. When we arrived we saw many locals on the restaurant, having breakfast to start their day. The restaurant has high chairs by the kitchen, bunch of booths, and tables chairs. The menu has plenty of variety between breakfast and lunch items. I got the Rueben with side of two over medium eggs. Our food came out pretty quickly. Rueben was a good sandwich with perfectly toasted white bread and beautifully cooked eggs. The service was super friendly. I arrived around 9:40 a.m. and was in an Uber headed to PBI Airport by 10:22 a.m. to catch a 12:20 p.m. flight. Our go to local breakfast spot! Family owned and it shows- the service is always exceptional. We have been here countless times. The prices are too good and quality is on point. Always hot, fresh and delicious. If you get there before 11am on a weekday they do a breakfast special with two eggs, potatoes, toast and coffee for $7 unheard of. I've also had the chorizo scramble, the California breakfast melt, biscuits and gravy (biscuits aren't dry!!), and my husband likes to get the 2-2-2, which is also a killer deal and delish. The rye bread here is so good. Coffee is nothing to write home about but it's cozy nyc diner vibes, exceptional service and good food keeps us coming back. We were in west Palm on vacation and wanted breakfast or lunch. Dontee's had these awesome reviews and a ton of them. So we drove over. Big Sunday crowd so we were encouraged. What a disappointment we had. We should have known from the start. Wife really was hankering for pancakes or a waffle. Looked in the bowl of creamer, jelly, and stuff. Little tubs of fake "breakfast" syrup, basically high fructose corn syrup and fake flavorings. No respectable joint would serve that junk. We should have left but we're starving. I got crab cake Benedict. They are a favorite and usually get them when I see them. Waitress said they were great. The word is cake. Like a crab flavored 1/2 inch thick pancake. I saw just a few threads of crab, no seasoning, the rest was dry gummy filler. There was an off taste that my wife smelled from across the table. I've eaten hundreds of crab cakes in my years; these were the absolute worst I've ever tasted. The English muffin appeared to have been flattened, a lifeless shoe heel for a base. Poached eggs were way overcooked; one was hard like a boiled egg. The hollandaise was an awful lumpy texture and tasteless; no lemon at all. The hash browns were barely cooked, basically micro shredded rawish potato. One of the worst plates of food I've ever had. Amazing a place in Florida in biz for 37 years could get away with this on the menu. Wife ordered a Reuben sandwich. Lots of great delis in South Florida. High expectations. The sandwich came out and looked terrible. Expectation was it would be on large rye bread but it looked like storebought loaf bread. The corned beef looked like processed deli meat sliced razor thin. Just a few slices. A dab of kraut, a slice of cheese. It wasn't awful like the eggs, but was disappointing. The server was great. Attentive and fast. Took the eggs off the bill. I decided to try this diner for breakfast this morning while in West Palm Beach, FL. The waitress came over after I was sitting for approximately seven minutes and I ordered coffee. I looked at the menu and decided to try their French Toast (bad choice). When the waitress brought my French Toast to me, the plate had six halves of what might have been Texas Toast which smelled of being cooked with the potatoes on the grill. The smell was soooo strong that it totally turned me off to eating it. The waitress did come back to warm up my coffee, but never asked me if everything was good. I finished my coffee and paid my check and made a mental note not to ever come back to this restaurant ever again. read more

Sent to me by Yelp this morning . Decided to give it a try . It was 2 pm so we were surprised the lot was full. The menu was huge . I had the Dontee omelette with delicious home fries and a great biscuit . My friend had the chorizo skillet . Everything was delicious including the coffee which was refilled regularly. I wanted to try a new eatery so I looked on Google & Yelp and Dontees came up with good reviews so I stopped by. I waited a few minutes and the nice lady at the cash register finally noticed me. She apologized & we sat down after some one did a quick table wipe. My waitress arrived a few minutes later I think she said her name was Jennifer. (I don't know she didn't introduce herself right away) took my order and then took the gentlemans order next to me & then she went over to the counter by the soda station for a few minutes writing something and then 10 minutes later she put our yellow tickets on the silver spin thing. After finally receiving my crabcake Benedict 30 minutes later, it was very good. I used to get it from Johnny Long boats but they always had too many cracked egg shells. I wish she would've checked to see if I needed anything right after I got my food. She waited to ask me when I was almost finished & I tried to make conversation with her but she was walking away, and when I mentioned I found them on Yelp she turned back towards me & perked up & was extremely friendly. She even pointed at the Owner that was there and told me it's a family business & her daughters were still working. A large party came in & I noticed her taking their orders and she put the yellow tickets up on that silver thing right away. So I was a little confused why it took her so long to put my ticket up and then it took 30 minutes for my food to come. That was an extremely long time for breakfast. I was concerned with the wait and I wish she would've let me know that my order was coming, instead of having me sit there, wondering what was taking so long. I asked for the check and she disappeared in the back by the kitchen for a few minutes not understanding why she just didn't pull my check out of her apron. They have a different special on the board every day, and this morning's breakfast special consisted of chocolate, red velvet pancakes, loaded hash omelet , and fish and grits. My grandson had the crabcake Benedict, which he found a little overpowering with some of the spices, so if you're sensitive to that, just keep that in mind. The sides include grits, oatmeal, hash browns toast, etc. I had the oatmeal before my avocado toast, and it was perfectly cooked and served with brown sugar and raisins. The coffee was hot and not too strong, which is exactly how I like it. When I checked in on yelp, I was offered a free, iced or hot coffee, and when I try to redeem, the waitress had no idea what to do. So we left without it. No big deal. They have a need a little bakery section too, with muffins, and some pies, which we did not get to enjoy. If you're new to the place, we just haven't tried it, we definitely recommend. read more

Went to the Norton museum and worked up an appetite, so we had to find somewhere that would be quick and have a variety of things to eat. This was a short drive from the museum and we were sat immediately. Typical diner decor so very simple and casual and a wide variety of options on the menu. I was so hungry I wanted everything but settled on a western omelette and some pancakes. My daughter got chicken tenders which were delicious and everyone else at the table got breakfast which was all so good. Service was fast and friendly. The pancakes are so good!!!! Your typical diner with regulars at the bar, coffee flowing, and friendly staff at every corner. Everything was clean and the food arrived quickly. They offer everything that an average diner offers but I felt the portions were on the small side. I ordered a ton of food and was surprised at the portion sizes. The prices are reasonable and comparable to other diners in the area. For a weekday between lunch and breakfast, the place was pretty packed but that didn't slow the service down. The food was all delicious, as expected. Eggs were cooked perfectly, hash browns were nice and crispy, and the pancakes were soft and puffy. The sausage seemed better than most diner sausage Pattie's even though they were on the small side. Overall, decent diner near our hotel that we will definitely come back to. read more
