As always, Ahron was quick to respond and dropped by soon after our inquiry to talk through options and price range. He works on his own, and does an impeccable job. I didn't know it was possible - but we LOVE our garage door. Ahron helped us nail down exactly what we wanted and we're super happy. I would confidently recommend A.M.B Garage Doors to anyone. In fact our neighbor used him just a few weeks later for a new opener. Super nice guy and funny too!

I won't be calling any other garage door company from now on. Trust me, just call this one…read more I got inspection/quotes from a few other garage door shops before Isaac from Instant Garage Door Repair (AKA A.M.B. Garage Doors, they merged apparently). They all found the very obvious issue (door arm was missing) and said "yeah we'll need to replace the entire thing". Isaac actually open/closed the door a few times, looked where it might be catching or rubbing, checked the roller wheels and springs, door alignment, etc. Isaac very clearly knows garage doors -- and he delivered. He was able to service the main maintenance in like 40 minutes; it went from being impossible for my partner to open/close manually to being almost no effort (and it's a heavy door)! In addition, there was a broken and missing piece of plastic where the door arm normally connects... he was able to CUSTOM CRAFT a small piece of metal that fits perfectly into where the missing piece was, removing the need to replace the otherwise-functional system! All of this ran us half what other places quoted us for the full system replacement, and none of them even talked about realigning the door or upgrading rollers or anything, and he did it without needing to schedule another day.

Chris was dismissive, rude, impolite and told my husband he was busy dealing with an employee who just quit. (Wonder why?) I convinced my husband to still give them our business, maybe this was an isolated experience in poor service. I was WRONG. Today, Chris blew my husband off again and could not be bothered to answer his questions or set up a time to do the installation for us. We are in favor of supporting small local business, but shit service is inexcusable. This is a competitive market. I am confident another local company will value repeat customers and provide service that warrants our loyalty.

Skyline sent out a very nice, professional and courteous young man (who I failed to get the name of). He was quick to assess the problem and had a temporary solution for us within about 3 minutes. We are seniors on a tight budget and this allows us time to figure out if we want to replace the opener or not. For future reference he gave us an estimate of the cost to replace the opener. The estimate was very reasonable and included a new opener and all labor costs. We could not be happier and when we do decide to replace it we'll be calling Skyline. Many thanks to Skyline for having great employees and for not gouging us for something that turns out could wait.

I am still in shock, in the best way possible. My garage door wouldn't close on sunny days and I…read moreassumed my sensors were old and needed replacing. I replaced the sender side myself, but the receiver side had a bolt that was completely stuck. I got a quote from a handyman for $400 and a second quote from a garage repair service for $350. I was hesitant to commit to either. Then Guy told me it was an easy fix, a five minute job, and he would do it free of charge. Just for the positive brand awareness. I honestly could not believe it. He said he would be at my house within an hour. Every word was true. He arrived in less than an hour, ready to work. What I have to share is that the job was far from simple. The nut was corroded and fused to the bolt. We tried impact drivers. We etched grooves for flathead and Phillips screwdrivers to get more torque. Nothing worked. Guy ended up removing the entire railing and used a Dremel to cut the bolt out. Sparks were literally flying as we cut through metal together. After getting everything cleared, Guy had a brilliant idea. He reversed the position of the sender and receiver so the signal unit would no longer sit at the angle of the sun and distort the signal. He swapped the units, reinstalled every component, and tested everything until it all worked perfectly. What was supposed to be a five minute job turned into over an hour of dedicated, problem solving work. Through all of it, Guy never once mentioned payment. He would not accept a single dollar from me. In a world where it is easy to feel skeptical, Guy reminded me that honest, sincere, and genuinely skilled people still exist. His integrity, his expertise, and his generosity left a lasting impression on me and my family. I will be referring his company to every single person in my network. Thank you, Guy. Truly and sincerely, thank you.

Update: The type of door (tilt-up) and the requested service (spring repair/replacement) were in the original request for quotes. Two other firms responded saying that they didn't work on those doors/didn't have parts to fix them. You didn't, so I assumed you were coming to estimate the cost of repair to a tilt-up door. I provided the picture later, yes, but only as supplemental info. The type of door and requested service was in the yelp request.
