Over many many years Dependable Doors have come to my rescue. Many years ago, I had an old wooden door, mainspring broke. No worries, they were here in two days. Well the old wood door got tired and needed to be replaced, job was inspected bid and done in under 5 business days. New light wait door. Perfect great door, until new car meets garage door, car ok garage door trashed. This was 5 days before my surgery. They were prompt with the estimate, replaced both our old and beaten up garage doors in one day, and walked me thru the remotes, and the care and maintainance as if it was their own. Rob with Dependable Doors is exactly the kind of business I love to work with. I got the number from my files of when the door was installed in 1980 and the spring was replaced in 2001. It was time for a new spring as the old one broke. Rob came out when he said he would, told me a price that he did not deviate from and made sure everything was tight and working very well when he was finished. If I disconnect the door opener I can open our 18' wooden door with one finger. Rob masked up in these pandemic times. Rob is so very personable and explained everything he did to put the new springs in. I had new nylon rollers put in after 40 years. There was no up sell. I arranged the installation of two garage doors several weeks in advance and confirmed it with Dependable Doors last night by phone. This morning the installer didn't turn up. When I phoned an hour after he was scheduled to arrive, Dependable Doors claimed the installer had called on his way out and had spoken to my husband. The installer claimed that my husband said that we weren't ready and cancelled the appointment. We had no calls at all this morning, and my husband definitely did not speak to anyone on the phone. According to Dependable Doors, the installer was now not answering his phone, so they couldn't install my doors today. My guess is the installer wanted the day off... Dependable Doors did not seem overly concerned with the fact that we were all waiting around for them to come and install our garage doors, nor that we had made this appointment well in advance. Instead they told me that they couldn't possibly get anyone else out here until next week. Needless to say I am taking my business elsewhere. When I checked Yelp I found A-1 Door Service in Port Orchard who are charging me $115 less per door to install my two garage doors ($230 savings!) and have all 5 star reviews. Next time I'll check Yelp first and not just go with a recommendation from someone I happen to know. I can't possibly speak to the quality of their work since they didn't actually come. But being as they are charging more than other companies, it's anyone's guess if they'll show, and their customer service is completely crap, I'd say you'd be better off looking elsewhere for a garage door installer. read more

ALWAYS Dependable! Rob and his team installed 3 beautiful steel garage doors about 15 months ago and I have been so pleased with them. I wish I had done it years ago. The doors have worked out real well. Dependable Doors recently came back out at my request to make a minor adjustment. They took care of it at no charge. They are very service oriented and I am sure they have left a trail of very satisfied customers. What a pleasure it is to deal with this business. Dependable Doors should change their name to Dependable Doors and SERVICE: They say what they do. They do what they say. My commercial metal door needed servicing. I called three companies, seeking a quote, all the same day. The first; He talked fast. He changed his quote three times. Low; then high (real high); then lower (still higher than the first), all for the same work. PASS The second: professional when they answered the phone. He took down my information. Ten days, yes ten days later he called with a price, a week after I had already scheduled with Dependable Doors. Lori answered the call. She gives good phone: Polite and professional. She took down my information, confirmed what I was looking for and called the owner, Rob, out in the field. A short time later, Rob called with the quote. The price was reasonable. Rob was straight forward and knowledgeable. Without hesitating, "you're hired; when can you do it?" Rob patched Lori in, who offered their first available appointment and suggested another alternative in case that didn't work. Really? Options and Customer service? Wow. The day of the appointment, Rob called an hour before the appointment. Canceling the appointment, I thought at first. No, he was right on time and brought one of his crew. No waiting around all day? Rob looked at the door, confirmed the work I requested, and told me he needed a half an hour to forty minutes. I left and came back, a-half-hour later, just as Rob and his crew member were finishing. The door was fixed and now opens perfectly. Rob adjusted another item we hadn't discussed. Much to my pleasant surprise he wouldn't let me pay him more than the original quote he provided (no surprise price bumps, most importantly). I am a happy customer and told Rob I would share my experience with others. My choice. No groveling. No quid pro quo for a good review. When it was time to replace my 30 year old creaky and leaky wooden garage doors I scouted out several vendors. Rob Miller of Dependable Doors was one of the three finalists for the replacement of my four 7'x9' garage doors. His quote for the job including removing the old doors was promptly delivered and he responded very quickly to a phone contact. It became clear that HE was the leader of the crew so I did not have to be concerned about who was going to do the work. My neighbor gave me this reference so I was living next door to one of Rob's satisfied customers, one more point in his favor. Thus Rob had an immediate "leg up" on his competition. The pricing and delivery were very competitive so he got my business. Rob and two others arrived the day they said they would and began work at 8:30AM. No breaks (even for lunch) were taken as far as I could see and all was twirling wrenches and flying elbows. Ten hours later (whew) all was done, the site neatly swept up, and all doors were functional. The doors were made by Northwest Door, a firm that I have used for the 30 years that we have lived in this house so I had confidence in their quality. The lifting devices were made by LiftMaster, another firm with good quality products. No more leaks, no more gaps, no more shaking and groaning as the door is lifted, and there is no painting and caulking required. What is not to like? read more
