The technician arrived on time, inspected the door carefully, and explained what was causing the problem before starting. They repaired the parts that needed attention and made sure the door was properly aligned and operating smoothly. I also appreciated how carefully they handled the installation and checked the opener and safety features afterward. Everything was tested before they left, and they cleaned up the work area. The service was professional, efficient, and straightforward. I'm very happy with the results and would definitely recommend Northwest Garage Doors.

This review covers my experience with Advanced Garage from six months ago. While the technician…read more(Nick) was courteous and professional in person, the quality of work and company communication fell short. During the visit, Nick told me he was unable to replace the old motion safety sensors and advised leaving them uninstalled, claiming the new unit's built-in safety stop was sufficient. I later verified this was incorrect. Federal safety standards (UL 325), required nationwide since 1993, mandate functional photoelectric safety sensors on residential garage doors. Furthermore, after installing a new weather seal, Nick left nails and loose debris scattered across the garage floor near the entrance. Fortunately, I noticed the debris before driving my car inside or having family members walk through. After reaching out to the company, Nick returned to install the sensors (charging an additional fee) and apologized for the mess. At the time, I posted a 5-star review on Thumbtack, which turned out to be premature. A month later, the door started making a loud banging noise upon opening. Getting Advanced Garage to address it was painful--after 2 1/2 weeks of sending photos and videos without resolution, I called another company. The new technicians fixed the noise quickly with basic lubrication and slight adjustments. Advanced Garage eventually offered a partial reimbursement, but I turned it down because good service shouldn't require this level of persistence. Polite technicians are appreciated, but safety compliance, job cleanup, and responsive support are what count. Changing my rating from 5 stars to 3 star

Skyline sent out a very nice, professional and courteous young man (who I failed to get the name of). He was quick to assess the problem and had a temporary solution for us within about 3 minutes. We are seniors on a tight budget and this allows us time to figure out if we want to replace the opener or not. For future reference he gave us an estimate of the cost to replace the opener. The estimate was very reasonable and included a new opener and all labor costs. We could not be happier and when we do decide to replace it we'll be calling Skyline. Many thanks to Skyline for having great employees and for not gouging us for something that turns out could wait.

I won't be calling any other garage door company from now on. Trust me, just call this one…read more I got inspection/quotes from a few other garage door shops before Isaac from Instant Garage Door Repair (AKA A.M.B. Garage Doors, they merged apparently). They all found the very obvious issue (door arm was missing) and said "yeah we'll need to replace the entire thing". Isaac actually open/closed the door a few times, looked where it might be catching or rubbing, checked the roller wheels and springs, door alignment, etc. Isaac very clearly knows garage doors -- and he delivered. He was able to service the main maintenance in like 40 minutes; it went from being impossible for my partner to open/close manually to being almost no effort (and it's a heavy door)! In addition, there was a broken and missing piece of plastic where the door arm normally connects... he was able to CUSTOM CRAFT a small piece of metal that fits perfectly into where the missing piece was, removing the need to replace the otherwise-functional system! All of this ran us half what other places quoted us for the full system replacement, and none of them even talked about realigning the door or upgrading rollers or anything, and he did it without needing to schedule another day.

Chris was dismissive, rude, impolite and told my husband he was busy dealing with an employee who just quit. (Wonder why?) I convinced my husband to still give them our business, maybe this was an isolated experience in poor service. I was WRONG. Today, Chris blew my husband off again and could not be bothered to answer his questions or set up a time to do the installation for us. We are in favor of supporting small local business, but shit service is inexcusable. This is a competitive market. I am confident another local company will value repeat customers and provide service that warrants our loyalty.
