Way, way overpriced for the service provided.
===SEE ADDED NOTE BELOW IN RESPONSE TO OWNER'S REPLY===
I contacted these folks for a garage door spring replacement, asking that springs be replaced on each of two doors. They did return my call and did provide same-day service. The repair was completed on-time. But - all the provided in reality was spring replacement, and the price - over $1500 for two springs, was exhorbitant. This is a service that should run around $350-400 in our area for each door. The springs typically retail for $100-200 (or less for standard springs) - yet they charged $550 each. I'd love to know the wholesale price for the springs they installed(!). The replacement took around 30 minutes for each door (there were two techs, about 30 minutes for each). There was no real inspection of the door, no lubrication of the tracks or anything else provided other than spring replacement. They charged $175 per door labor charge (plus of course, the tax on the service).
Whereas it is understandable for there to be a minimum labor charge (to cover the cost of driving to your home), a labor charge of $175 for one door, and $350 for two doors, is excessive, as is the price of $550 for each spring. Of course, it was recommended that rollers be replaced too - at something like $220 each, an absurd price for the roller wheels, which run around $50 - $100/door (depending on the type of door).
Unfortunately, I did not have time to wait for multiple quotes from other companies (I called 4 companies, only 1 returned my call).
I'd recommend dealing with a local company that actually has a local office, rather than folks that use a prospect-finding service like Anytime does.
===NOTE ADDED AFTER ANYTIME RESPONSE:===
1) I *NEVER* called or asked Anytime about repairing my garage door *opener*. I *specifically* called about having a spring replaced. That is *all* I ever mentioned. I have *never* had problems with the garage door opener (which continues to work perfectly). NO service was performed on the opener - no service to the opener was offered (and no service to the opener was refused). Again, the ONLY issue was that a spring was broken, as was immediately evident to me when the garage door only opened part way.
2) The price of the springs was NEVER quoted as $700, and I NEVER asked for a price reduction. I simply paid amount of the invoice they prepared. To summarize, two springs were replaced. That is the ONLY service that was performed by Anytime.
3) Anytime Garage Door Service charged $1,650.80 for replacing two garage door springs.
4) My garage door openers are Genie openers, NOT Lift Master, and NO service was performed on the openers (I was in the garage the entire time the two springs were replaced. NO GARAGE DOOR OPENER WAS PROVIDED/INSTALLED nor was it asked for nor was that necessary at any time. I would quite frankly be grateful for them to reduce my bill to $1,200 for the two springs from the $1650.80 that they charged.
5) For the total of $1650.80, the ONLY service performed was replacement of the two springs. No lubrication of the tracks was performed, no tightening of the nuts holding the track rollers to the door was performed (I did that myself, even providing the nuts that I used to replace a few that had come off).
6) I NEVER said that I was a "professional guy".
7) Incidently, after they left, one roller suddenly was horribly squeaky. Lubricating it made it quiet again (but I did replace it myself for around $12.00 for two rollers) - they had asked over $200 per roller to service the rollers. read more
