Terrible service every time I come here. not enough waiters and you will never get a drink refill. Food is ok

Just left this place the wait staff was slow and careless. I ordered nachos and so did my wife it took 30 mins for the food to come out people who arrived after us were served before us.the chips were burned the toppings were cold with ice shavings, the margarita I order on the rocks tasted like water.. when it comes time to pay the waiter comes back saying their computer is acting up and my card isn't working bc the strip was not good on my card. I just received that card in the mail today and used prior to going to eat there, I had to leave and go get cash out while my wife stayed waiting keep in mind got cash out with the same card he claimed was not working. Meanwhile my card is showing a transaction pending from here 6 times on my bank activity And I have screen shots of it..I live less then 5 mins from here and Never will I go back to this place! read more

The staff was friendly but the chips and queso were cold. The food lacked seasoning and the soup though good tasted like something I could make easily at home. Disappointed. read more

Don Ramon's have the perfect fajitas. We eat here every Friday and haven't had any complaints yet. Daughters get chicken tender meal and love them. Wife and I get fajitas for two and they are amazing. Beef fajitas fall apart and chicken is amazing. Plan to come to Dons every Friday. Highly recommended. read more

Don Ramon's Mexican Restaurant - the only thing we ate was the main thing , REST IS NASTY WEIRD AFTER TASTE - Mexican Near Me - Houston, Texas

I suppose it's a good/bad thing that one of the waiters prepared my margarita before I asked for one. Love the live music... My son always request "Rolling on the River" by Tina Turner. Ordered a Ceviche on this hot Houston Saturday!! read more

Don Ramon's Mexican Restaurant - Mexican Near Me - Houston, Texas

Went on a Saturday during lunch time. Staff was nice. Quesadillas was delicious. Margarita sucked. But I'd go back for the food.

Another great meal! This place has consistent service and food and great prices. If they had breakfast tacos all week (they only do them on Sats. & Suns.) it would be 6 stars! read more

I am new to the area. I ordered carnie asada for pickup. Three minutes to drive home and two minutes to serve and it was cold. The meat was so tough I couldn't cut it with a steak knife. Not a fan of the charro beans. I've had better food than this. Will not go there again. read more

Best cheese enchiladas in Houston! My husband and I crave them. We look at the menu every time acting like we don't know what we are getting but never stray from beef fajitas and 2 a la cart cheese enchilada. They have a duo that sings so much Selena, it's amazing. read more

I don't ever give reviews but this place had Excellent food, good tasting margaritas, they were playing all the good Jams and i was having the time of my life here. Also I don't remember the waiters name, but he was so attentive and sweet! Will be returning read more

Great Authentic Mexico food for the right price We always order to take home Love their salsa and off course the fajitas. read more

This place feels like home! The dining room is cozy and warm; the servers are attentive and kind, and the prices are very reasonable. We love the margaritas and I often try different menu items each time. However, my husband is hooked on their wonderful tamales- he gets at least one each visit! We've never had a meal here that we didn't love, everything tastes fresh and scratch made. In this COVID era we are getting our food to-go, and no issues here either. The prices are half what you'd pay at some of the local Mexican chain restaurants- including the one across the street- but the food is just as good and service is even better! We love Don Ramons! read more

I love this great neighborhood place. Good service, food and margaritas. Music too and TVs for sports etc!!! They aim to please and a free ice cream machine for dessert! Their top shelf margarita frozen is so good. I'm picky about my margaritas!! Good neighborhood place to go read more

Stopped by this place with my family, 6 of us. I gave 2 stars as only 1 person of 6 would come back. 1) the waiter was kind of a jerk. It may have been a language or culture barrier, but he spoke too quiet that it just made any interaction with him awkward. However, he just seemed apathetic and condescending. 2) we ordered our drinks and when they arrived, 1 drink cup was very dirty and had caked dirt on the outside of the glass. 3) 1 of the teas tasted oddly salty. When we asked the waiter he said "I don't know it's tea and I there is only 1 tea." We had to literally ask him for another, which did taste different. It could have been another dirty glass? 4) one person as the table got a taco salad, which was packed very full of salad that it could barely be mixed. However, while mixing it old slimey lettuce was found. It didn't appear to be caused by the barely warm meat and there wasn't any sauce. 5) cheese enchiladas were okay to me, I wouldn't get them again. However, 1 of 4 plates were eaten in their entirety. The 1 plate eaten was the person that actually enjoyed the lunch. 6) chicken vegetable soup was very bland. The plate came with old cheese that seemed like it was on its last days in the refrigerator and some avocado. It was barely eaten. Only plus- the margaritas were decent for happy hour. Seemed strong. I won't be returning when I am in the area. I didn't even want to tip 15% with the rude waiter, but we did. read more

Great service and great food! Mom and I have been here a few times for dinner, but today we tried them for lunch. Alberto was our waiter, and he took real good care of us. My beef enchiladas were delicious. Mom loved her tamales. Overall a positive experience. We'll be back! read more

Don Ramon's Mexican Restaurant - Peach Margarita - Mexican Near Me - Houston, Texas

I understand the extreme spectrum of reviews now being to Don Ramon's twice with my wife. The first time the service was atrocious. My wife got the appetizer sampler and it was bland at best. My chicken was descent. The pricing was fair. The second time, COMPLETELY different experience. The service was fantastic, the food was MUCH better. For all the people having negative experiences, give them a second chance, you won't regret it. read more

WARNING: there is a dress code for gentlemen, no tank tops allowed. For a "fine Mexican restaurant", the food was not up to par with their prices. Luckily we came in on a Tuesday and fajitas were half off, although it's a mix of both chicken and beef, not one or the other. The beef was good but the chicken was kinda dry. Pretty average Tex-Mex restaurant. Service was horrible. Our waitress never refilled our waters and took FOREVER to get the bill. We had to wave her down even after we declined dessert. We were done with our meals, what else is there to do at a restaurant?? It wasn't even busy and she seemed more attentive to her other tables. We never gave her any trouble so not sure why we received such horrible service. There are an abundance of good Tex-Mex and authentic Mexican restaurants in Houston, most likely won't be back, especially not on my own. read more

Service excellent. And the food was ABSOLUTELY delicious. The food mouth watering. And the portions are huge. Two people could have actually fed off one plate. I will definitely visit again. read more

I put in what I thought would be a tedious, "that customer" order with four special requests. Not being a regular to this restaurant, I anticipated a sarcastic or negative response....and received an effortless "yes ma'am." When my food came out (at the exact same time as my friends' less-complicated orders), it was exactly as I requested and Joe was incredibly attentive to our table. I will be back. read more

First off, the chef is great and I loved the food. For that I would give the chef no less than four stars What spoiled the whole thing was the tricks the biz played: Looking at the menu it says clearly "fajita for two" @ $17 some dollars, and I saw specific dates there. Which so happened was the date I pointed to the waiter and he said Mother's Day special, and it was a Mother's Day When we were done, we waited very very long before the waiter came back. When the bill was presented, it was 25% more than what we read from the menu I waited for the waiter for very very very long again and he would not return I asked another staff to help me, and she sent the menu into office, the manager eventually came to our table He stated no mistake there, because we had a mother day special I pointed the price we ordered and the manager said that was for a Mexican holiday printed in Spanish on a different day Ok fine, but why there printed the three days that we were there as one of the days? For that, the manager said that was a separate thing for Mother's Day So I asked him where was the price of this Mother's Day special, because there was none Ere you have it For the thing with the price in English, it went with Spanish I could not read And right under it without any separation or boarder or marks was another thing all in English only without the price. You decide if this was a honest mistake or was a well developed strategy to set a trap? I don't know about you, but it really ruined the weekend night for us, with such a confusion... I was going to recommend this place to all my friends, but now I know I won't have them fall as I did read more

The food here is delicious, the live music they play is wonderful. The ONLY bad thing about Don Ramon's is that their Fajitas are 22$ for one person. They have a half price special on Tuesday but only for a few hours in the afternoon. Great place if you don't mind spending above average $$ read more

Strongest. Margaritas. EVER. Even the happy hour ones. So delicious and cold. perfect. All there food is really good as well

It's not the best we've ever had before a Mexican breakfast but very close. The tortillas or fresh, thin and very delicious. I had the breakfast tacos which were quite good and my wife at the barbacoa taco. Excellent. They also had live music playing for Sunday brunch which was nice but I wasn't that crazy about his jazzy interpretation of current songs. All in all definitely worth a visit. read more

Decided to give them another try. When they first opened I was disappointed. Their food is very good now! Have bee back several times. They have drawn a lot of customers and serving great food. With the exception of their fajita meet, still can't get it right. It was so salty our mouths were burning! They also have jacked the prices. For the same money you will get a perfect meal every time at Pappasitos, and the best fajita meat hands down! Happy Hour is good, drink and appetizers are affordable. read more

Had dinner tonight with wife. I was major impressed. They have honed their kitchen to major good tex-mex plus. We had mixed fajitas and stuffed poblano pepper. Last time we ate there was about 6 months ago. Don't remember being so impressed then as we were tonight. Great service too! read more

I'm so happy that I wallked here from my apartment on Friday. Before I hit the front door, I said to myself that the food has to be good cause it smells great, and it was. My bartender Nester was great, and I loved the happy hour specials & margarita was on point! I ordered the verde enchiladas & they were so delish, I even ate all of the rice and beans on my plate lol. They have a Tuesday fajita special that I want to try, but I think me & my kids are going there for an early dinner today lol. I pray that the foodis just as good as the other day!!! read more

This is the best Mexican restaurant in the area. This is probably my tenth visit and I have never been disappointed. Food quality and taste are excellent and service couldn't be better. This time I tried the ribeye and it turned out to be as good if not better than one from Saltgrass! My friend had the tilapia with shrimp and loved it. No question about it, this is our Mexican restaurant. Lupe Tortilla: thanks, but no thanks. read more

I come here for the menudo. It is the best I've ever had. They are very consistent with the recipe. The broth is rich and flavorful. The meat is melt in your mouth goodness. Definitely it is the thing to order. The huevos rancheros (ranch style eggs) are awesome and the Barbacoa tacos soft and moist without being greasy. Really really good food here. read more

The menu is a bit above the norm for the 3 enchiladas rice and beans of the normal Mexican food joint. The renovation of HHS facility is nice but nothing exceptional, the food is OK but nothing exceptional, the service is OK but nothing exceptional. If you are looking for an OK meal in an OK place with OK service than give it a try. Oh did I forget there is one thing exceptional ...... The check!!!
