Early Sunday dinner with the family. We must've came at just the right time because there was hardly anyone else dining. We always enjoy this spot, not only is it near home but the food is always good but it's also very reasonably priced. Also, who doesn't love complimentary chips and salsa. The chips are always nice and warm and love the house salsa. The house salsa is a nice and chunky red salsa with very little heat for a baby like me. I usually get the taco salad with shredded beef (which I love) but I decided I was in the mood for some cheesy enchiladas and opted for the Saltillo Enchiladas. This was a great choice. Super tender and flavorful stuffed enchiladas with delicious cheesy goodness, served with classic rice and beans I will definitely be back for this dish. This is my all time favorite Mexican restaurant. Everything is good the service is even better. My family always gets treated amazingly by all of the staff. Their chili verde is one of the best restaurant chili verdes ever. Yes there is a difference between home made and restaurant level but this is the closest to homemade I've ever had and if you've seen me I haven't missed too many meals. This restaurant used to be so good, but I went in there last night for my nephew's birthday. The waiter was very rude. Rushing us. I ordered a special shrimp plate with fish and the fish was very raw. It was not cooked temperature. It was very soggy the shrimp was not cooked through the inside. I ordered bacon wrapped shrimp. The salsa tastes like picante sauce from a jar that you buy over-the-counter and I don't like the way, the waiter rushes you and he never came to ask for a we need refills on our drinks and he automatically dumped the tip onto our bill which he did not deserve a tip because the service was like shit. I will be calling the health department cause if you look up at the ceilings, it's very filthy. looks like the ceilings are gonna come caving in on you the carpets filthy the tables need to be washed more. The seats that you sit down are cut up and you just patch up some of those seeds. The ceiling fans are covered with dust. The cleanliness is not very good there. If I was a health department I would give them an automatic F shut down they need to be remodeled. I wish I could speak to the manager, but they said the manager was not in and the food is not good like it was before years ago bathrooms were filthy They just need a whole new makeover. Don Pericos has been around for a long time. They have a great staff and they know how to make good food, provide great service and at reasonable prices. Most of the staff has been there for years. They are very knowledgeable and familiar with their regular customers and will very often remember your preferred orders. Ambiance is good. Very quiet, relaxing and pleasant on the restaurant side. The bar side can be a little bit louder and lively but still a very chill spot to go have a drink and watch the game and not break the bank. I highly recommend the chile verde salsa with your chips. Service is always great. Went for brunch this morning, and am noticing some changes in the food since the last time I was there. (Maybe due to change of ownership??) The crab salad has been changed, not for the better. They added cucumber and onion. Those flavors overtook the flavors of the crab salad. Less meat in the chili verde. Bad Experience at Don Perico! White Lane. Was very disappointed today Labor Day! Brought my Wife on her Birthday and friends. I noticed the restaurant was almost empty. We were a party of 12. They sat us on the east side of the restaurant. It took a long time for a waiter to show up. Like 20 minutes. A family member had to walk to the front and ask for a waiter to come. Once the waiter arrived, he stated he was the only waiter working. 4 of us decided to choose the Buffet that they were offering at $17.99. A few of us took a look at the buffet trays to see what they were offering. Only rice & beans, pieces of Enchiladas along with Chile Verde which was almost an empty & Chile Colorado. There were no Flour or Corn Tortillas available. Other members of our family ordered from the regular Menu. It took over 45 minutes for a waiter to take their order. The only good thing was the Bus Guy kept filling our drinks. He was very good. To my surprise, since we have been coming here for years the food was so-so. The bus guy had mentioned that they had to let go of a few employees. The whole experience was terrible! When you're spending good money for a bad experience it leaves a bad taste in your mouth & wallet! Probably won't be coming back! read more

This was the absolute worst service I've ever had in my life, all I've heard were rave reviews about don pericos but under their new management it is not good. The waiter refused to acknowledge any of the women at the table and only after me ( a man) asked for the what the ladies were asking for did it get served. they rudely rummaged the items on our table to place new dishes down spilling our chips and overall showed a lack of respect. To top it all off the food was subpar and the tortillas clearly came precooked in the package. At a Mexican restaurant I expect my tortillas to either be made in house or come uncooked in the package this cut corner really represents what Don Perico is . . . a place not worth your time because you aren't worth their time. My wifes family absolutely loves this place. They come here for birthdays, weddings, funerals, etc. I think they wanted them to cater our wedding at one point but I had to put my foot down for that. Usually the food here is pretty good. The environment is that of a typical Mexican restaurant and the staff is friendly. The parking lot is sketchy and smells like a combination of weed, a septic leak and Carne asada but once you get inside you don't notice the other odors of the neighborhood. Last week, though, I ordered the number 12 combo. That's two taqiitos and a mini tostada. I ordered the chicken for some reason and let me tell you... it was inedible. I thought a Mexican restaurant would use some spices and get some flavor out of their chicken, but it was devoid of any flavor. It was also oddly wet. Not moist, but wet. That was weird. I pushed it aside and stuck with the chips and salsa and a few cervezas. Anyway, my wife and inlaws loved their chile Colorado and cheese enchiladas like they usually do but the chicken was no Bueno. I love this place. I have been going there for years, but ever since the owner Gambino retired the service has been gradually going down hill. I went into the restaurant the other day and sat there for almost 15 minutes before the waitress walked over after she played with the red drinking straws without washing her hands, between texting on her phone. Stopped by this past Sunday to pick up some menudo. And i was pleasantly surprised by how delicious and full of deep and rich flavor. That definitely is not always the case with menudo. It comes with chips an salas , I recommend to ask for extra salas they give you chips enough for two people the the Salas enough for one, there is not extra charge when you ask for extra one! Customer service is always friendly , who ever gives your order doesn't rush you an they always very nice. Extremely pleased with our experience! Fast and friendly service, we had our drinks and food within minutes of sitting down and ordering. Salsa was delicious and the food was by far the best we have had in such a long time. I got the fiesta platter and they have amazing Buffalo sauce for their wings. My husband got chile verde and he says it's the best he has had since we moved back. My mother in law had the enchilada sueza and she loved it. We usually go to the one don pericos on Calloway since it is closer to us but this one will be the one we go to from now on. So worth the drive.
