I am basically reviewing the Al Pastor tacos, since that's all I ever order. But I come back here to order them over and over again, so that's saying something. This is the only place my little boy seems to enjoy tacos (albeit chicken tacos), so that's saying something, too. And my daughter always scarfs down a big plate of beans and rice and Al Pastor tacos. Man, we're boring. They get an extra star for the salsa bar, with yummy pickles and a good variety of salsas. Last couple times I've been in have been disappointing. My burrito came with all bacon at one end and all eggs and hash at the other, rookie mistake. My next visit I wasn't even served. I sat in my car in front of their speaker for more than 5 minutes with no communication. I asked the speaker if I was waiting on them or they were waiting on me twice before leaving. Upon my exit two people were staring at me through the drive-through window. Muchas Gracias two blocks down was more than happy to take my money in exchange for food, and it was delicious. read more

Best breakfast burritos in town! Even with it being about 20 mins away from my place this is the only place I'll go for a breakfast burrito.

Been here many times and once you decipher that menu you arre set with favorite Dishes cooked properly yet inconsistent at times. Be aware, meals have increased in price and quality/quantity as of late. No longer the best on this side of town and will explore new places on fourth plain. Less customers should've been the clue . This place was recommended by a friend who loves the street tacos. Pros: Drive thru is convenient on a very hot day. Tomatillo salsa very good and so was the chopped toppings on the taco. My husband also enjoyed his enchiladas, rice and beans Cons: wait at the drive thru is long. Gives you plenty of time to see how dirty the area is and wonder about inside. Pork in taco little dry and fatty. Overall I probably won't return. However I know a few people who frequently hit the drive thru. read more

Well, our experience was not so great. We usually go to Super Taco on Hwy 99 and have seen this place a thousand times but never ventured in. We had Nacho's with shredded beef, an Al Pastor Burrito and a shredded beef Burrito to compare with our usual place. Honestly, there was no comparison. The Nacho's were soggy with half the meat we get at Super Taco. The Burrito's were mostly rice and bean and we shared the two Burrito's to get a taste of each and honestly I could not tell one from the other. Overall, the food was very greasy and tasteless. I hate to give a poor rating, but it is what it is. My adult son and I left with the same opinion. For really good Mexican food, drive up highway 99 another two miles and try Super Taco. read more

Being that Im NOT at all MEXICAN, I have never really eaten a REAL taco before, Today I had a Chorizo taco, a Pastor taco, and a Chicken Taco, My daughter had the Carne Asada taco and they were sooooo good! I'm giving Don Pedro 5 stars on the strength of their SUPERIOR carne asada. Otherwise, I'd just be 'a fan' and give 4 stars. Don Pedro is definitely more of a casual style taqueria, almost a fast food ambience, but the food itself is of much higher quality overall. Everything I've had there has been really good, although their salsas are pretty standard - a decent hot red and mild green. What really sells me here is the carne asada. I lived out of the area for twenty years in San Jose, where almost every Mexican restaurant or taqueria was fantastic, with some being transcendent. I feared that moving back to Vancouver, I wouldn't have as much good Mexican food to choose from. Thankfully, I was wrong and there are great places on several levels to choose from. I was told that Don Pedro had the best carne asada, and I wasn't disappointed. It's just about perfect. They have a better selection of sauces and fried jalepenos which my husband loves immensely!! This slot was highly disrespectful. I could not understand anything they were saying and I don't think they knew what I was saying ether. When they got my order wrong I politely told them this wasn't what I ordered and they still couldn't understand me and responded disrespectfully to me. I truthfully just don't think that the worker there spoke or understood English. I'm all for foreign languages but if your working customer service you need to be able to respectfully tow someone's orders! read more

This place is such a nice surprise! Honestly, it doesn't look like much, just a run-of-the-mill Mexican joint but so far they have never disappointed me. I used to swing by Muchas Gracias on the way to work to pick up a burrito for lunch and then a friend suggested I try Don Pedro's instead. Recently, I suppose out of a sense of nostalgia I went back to Muchas Gracias again and was so disappointed in their food I will never go back. The pick up menu at Don Pedro's is simple and affordable, the meats are savory and well cooked. For sitdown meals, the menu is surprisingly unique and the condiment bar is fantastic. So far, the food has been better than almost any other Mexican restaurant I have visited in Vancouver. It doesn't have to be fancy to be good. Their drive-up window is open until 11 o'clock at night! Great place to grab a couple of amazing tacos on the way home. read more

Don Pedro has good Mexican food. Not 100% authentic, but close enough that whole trucks full of landscaping crews were chowing down here on a recent weekday. Besides, the details that are a bit less than the way mamacita would make it in TJ are probably welcome here in Gringolandia anyway. Those would be: combination plates with rice and beans and big gobs of sour cream. Other than that, it's pretty close to the real deal with sopes, tortas, enchiladas, tacos and the like on the menu. On a cold winter day, they had champurrado (yum). The roasted chili salsa had me crying and grinning at the same time. Parking lot and restaurant can get crowded at lunchtime (there's no place to stand to be "out of the way") but once you get your food you'll forget about all that stuff. Prices are reasonable and food tastes really good, so as Yelp says, "I'm a fan". read more

The rolled tacos were semi ok but I will have to say I'm adding this one to the list of never going back to places in Vancouver. This place has great food and they nail it every time. Their rice and beans are out of this world. I've been to so many places that don't even have good rice and beans. They're very consistent with their dishes which is always a perk. Customer service is alright. Only reason for the 4 star is the aesthetics of the place. This has been a staple for our family for years. We used to stop at least once a week if not two. My kids would take their friends or order to go and deliver to them. They made a few changes to food quantity and quality, and are consistently raising the prices, which I get but don't change quality. A few of the ladies are like friends now since we have been there so frequent for so long. I miss my favorite sauce which they no longer have. No issues with the place. Food is good. It is what it is. Unfortunately we don't go as much because of the cost increase and trying other options. Their drive through isn't good. I'm not sure if they hired a new girl in the past few months or what, but she sucks, she is incredibly rude, only says one word replies, and she handed me my food standing up. So I dumped it on the ground. because that is essentially what she did. They lost a customer because of her and her attitude. This place is great. Originally from southern California, I grew up spoiled in regards to good Mexican food. Today, looking for a place to eat, my girlfriend and I settled on Don Pedro's, and were really glad we did. The atmosphere was great, walk up and order style, and the service was fast and friendly, and lastly, the food was phenomenal. We both had the lengue tacos, and were extremely pleased, tasty meat, and great toppings. Not to mention, the prices were fantastic. We will definitely be coming back here again. read more

For the amount of time you spend in the drive through, you would expect them to have served up a 5 course meal. It's a burrito not a steak cooked to perfection! 30 min in the car is just not acceptable for a drive through window... and there were only two cats ahead of me... but the food is good so still 2 stars. Ordered Ground Beef taco and Carne Asada burrito. My taco was a tortilla, groundbeef, and shredded cheese. Thats it. No lettuce, no tomato, no onions, no cilantro, nothing else! On top of that, it was horribly bland. My Carne Asada burrito had burnt meat, overcooked rice, they forgot the beans. Going back to Muchas Gracias - much better food. read more

Horrible service. My kids orders steak tacos and the meat was cold and you could tell it was old. I ordered a chicken salad and the chicken was raw. I told them the chicken was raw and they offered to make a new one. Well they only braught out a new small pice of chicken not a new salad like they just wanted me to pick off the raw chicken off my salad and add the new chicken.
