I recently took my 2019 Nissan Rogue to Don Davis Nissan in Arlington, TX, for what I thought would be a simple oil change and tire rotation. Was I wrong. They've apparently shifted to these "maintenance packages" only, and gone are the days of a la carte services. I was pushed into their Basic 30,000 Mile Interval Service Package for a whopping $499.95, even though my car is at around 59,000 miles and I've been handling a lot of this stuff myself. It felt like I had no choice if I wanted anything done at all. Let's break down why this was such a rip-off. The package includes things like replacing the key fob battery at $12.00 - seriously? I can buy a pack of two Duracell CR2032 batteries online or at any store for under $5 and swap them myself in seconds. Then there's the cabin air filter at $47.45; aftermarket options are available for $15-25, and even OEM parts online go for around $20-30. The engine air filter was $29.95, which is still marked up compared to $20-ish elsewhere. I already changed both filters and the fob batteries recently, so why am I paying for duplicates? The brake fluid flush was another unnecessary add-on in this bundle. I had my brake pads replaced back in 2024, which included a flush then - no need to do it again so soon, but it's baked into the package. And what even is this "Vehicle Protection Service" tacked on? From what I can tell, it's some vague multi-point inspection or extended protection plan (like Nissan's Security+Plus), but it feels more like protection money to the mob - pay up or your car doesn't get serviced. Their brochure lists it, but it's not clear what real value it adds beyond basic checks I could do myself. Yes, I know that I could have went to a oil change business. Very disappointing experience at Don Davis Nissan. The vehicle was advertised online for one price, but when I arrived at the dealership I was told I had to pay a much higher amount. That felt very misleading. There were also issues with the paperwork. Terms that were discussed regarding my trade-in were not clearly reflected in the contract, which is concerning when you're making a major financial decision. The biggest problem happened in the finance office, where aftermarket products were added to my contract that I did not agree to purchase. Discovering additional charges that were never properly authorized is unacceptable. I strongly recommend that anyone considering buying from here, don't!!!! Look elsewhere. I went to return the vehicle and no one wanted to come talk to me or work anything out with me, basically asked for their keys and sent me on my way. Purchased a new car from them August 2025. By September 2025 tires were showing premature wear. Don Davis stated the 3 tire specialists who inspected tires did not know what they were talking about. February 2026 car is needing 4 new tires. Manufacturer states these are defective tires. Don Davis will not help on this & state that tire tread is 6 when all tire specialists state in writing that the tread is a 4. Theyn also pulled the bait & switch when we went in with a picture of the car ww ere interested in. Price jumped $20,000.00. Also took them 2 months to pay off my trade which created problems of me having to make additional payments. read more

Avoid This Dealership - Dishonest Sales Tactics! I had a terrible experience at Don Davis Nissan. I was in the process of purchasing a truck we had discussed terms, they had added a 3 year Don Davis promise. I asked what it was the salesman, Marvin gave me a print out that included motor/engine service for 1 year/15,000 miles with a $100 deductible if work was needed. I asked 3 times what was covered he showed me a list. We negotiated a price that we all agreed to; Marvin brought in the paperwork we went over again and I wrote in all of the promises Marvin had made such as the new tires, replacing the tinted window on one of the sides, and a few other checks he had promised. We went over to financing and Stephen started going over the rates and then offered an 2 year 36000 mile warranty. I declined because we already had added the prior Don Davis Promise and we were told that was only for cosmetic issues like seat tears or paint nicks. When I pointed this out, he called Marvin and became defensive and tried to justify the extra cost rather than fixing the problem. It felt like they were intentionally trying to squeeze more money out of us through deceptive tactics. If I hadn't carefully read the fine print, I would have ended up paying for something that we had already included in the price. This dealership clearly prioritizes profit over honesty. If you're shopping for a car, check every detail of the contract and be prepared for shady upselling. I won't be coming back, and I strongly recommend others take their business elsewhere. read more
