This review is very old and I forgot to post it last year, but someone tried to take my catalytic converter earlier last year and they only was able to get half of it sliced off. The remaining part of it was just hanging off and I found this place a little bit less than 10 minutes away from me and they just welded it back together for a very reasonable price and also fixed the little hanging pipe that was under my car as well and didn't charge me more and I was very grateful for that. I believe it was less than $100 no more just to weld it back together and I came back maybe a month later with a catalytic converter shield protector and I ask them if they were able to put it on my car and they didn't have any issues with it so I came back when I had the time and I let them work on my car and once again the price was very reasonable about no more than $150 because I had a three-piece for my catalytic converter shield protector and it was reasonable and I wasn't mad at and they didn't try to bargain for more and they were pretty busy that day when I came in, but to me it was worth the way because I haven't had any issues with my catalytic converter since. read more

I got my car checked for the brakes because it's squeaking so bad. Paid to have the brake pads replaced at a great price. I kept telling them I think it's the back brakes that's creating the noise, after working so hard on the front brakes only, I pull off just to hear the same squeal. $100 for brake pads in the front that wasn't causing the issue. I used this mechanic (Ryan Hogan) in good faith. I took my car there for an engine repair to which I was given a warranty after the work was complete. What I didn't realize at the time was that this shop has two different names Discount Automotive Repair and Skips, the address on the warranty that I was provided says 2103 W Pioneer Parkway Pantego Texas 76013. After I picked my vehicle up and paid $ 3018.00. I was told under the terms of the warranty I had to bring my car back in 10 days for an inspection to ensure that the engine would hold up for six months. When I brought the car back to Ryan he said that my car was cleared. Two months later the car stopped working, it would not turn over at all, I took my car back to Ryan Hogan at Skips Automotive/Discount Automotive Repair and my car sat for two months. After an inquiry to the repair shop, Ryan Hogan tells me that my car cannot be repaired because the claims adjuster where he made the purchase said that the engine warranty could not be honored because my radiator was bad. Ryan then sends me another text stating that he could repair the engine and the radiator for me for another $1800.00 that should have been covered under the first service when he supposedly fixed/replaced or rebuilt the engine. According to the Texas Attorney General's Offices and the Federal Trade Commission office, if a repair service pursuant to a warranty then charges you for repair work covered by the warranty, this is an unfair business practice and should be reported to the better business bureau which I have done. If this company has done the same to you, report them, and for everyone who is reading this REVIEW do not go to this shop, they are liars and cheats. read more

Well after going several times to this place and experienced great service and price my last time wasn't as usual. There was an old lady instead of the regular guy. She claimed to be be owner, I never saw her before, she had a heavy accent and when asked her if they can install wheel Spacers she clearly didn't know what that it. So I told to ask another employee and she started screaming at me, saying I don't need to tell her what to do and she run her business how she wants, lol. All I did was a simple question, even the lady in line behind me told me she was so rude. So I asked her what's up with the attitude and she started insulting me and asked me to leave and picked up the phone to call the police LMAO. She was clearly having a bad day but thanks to that disgusting treat I received they lost a life time customer and I will never go back this place. Btw I was going back to fix something they did wrong on my car but I took it to another shop and I'm a happy camper now. Our regular mechanic has basically gone out of business. Finding a new one is terrifying. Most are anything but reputable. CJ's was recommended to us by the guys at OReilly's. So we gave them a try. The first time we went was after a friend did a tune up on our vehicle. It was running rougher than it was before the tuneup. We just dropped the vehicle off and told them it was running rough. After a couple of hours, CJ's called and said that a couple of the plug wires were put on wrong. They corrected the problem for under $40. We picked it up that afternoon and it was running perfectly. A couple of months later we had a wheel bearing problem and something else was just not acting right. We just didn't have much 'go'. CJ's replaced the wheel bearing, checked the front end out well and recommended a new tire (one of ours was oblong) and replaced the fuel filter. Again, at a very reasonable price. And they fixed it in one day. I have zero complaints about these guys. I've never had such a positive experience with an auto repair shop. read more

I took my car to get it fixed the next day after the quotes. They accepted my car had it for 3 hours and did not fix my car. in the mean time , I took a cab home I spent $20 and they call me at home and said they could not fix my car at the price that they quoted. A man's word is their bond the truth and their honor they do not stand behind the words and the price that they quote. They call me at home after they had my car 3 hours and quoted me at least three times the price to put on catalytic converters I brought them new catalytic converter and they Took Out the gaskets that came with my catalytic converter not only did they cost me money but they stole from me. When I confront him, he told me they did not come in the Box. I showed him the package that was empty he went and got the package out of my car and said, he could not find them. Mike went to get me some more that look like they were used that did not come in the package that I brought them with my parts. I find them to be dishonest and not true to their word. I went to them because I saw great reviews. I believe their friends and family is posting those reviews. I was unhappy and very disappointed save yourself the trouble do not use them. read more
