Based off what I saw on their website, I went there for a AC recharge @ $39.99. Guy at front desk was rude, said they haven't had that price in over 10 years. Ok fine but you need to update your website. So I then asked how much for a recharge - he stated $59.99. Ok cool. Proceeds to tell me he couldn't get to it today since they close in 3 minutes. He was more interested in leaving at 4 pm sharp than helping a repeat customer. Awful customer service skills, TACT and delivery. I went to Discount Auto Air with an A/C issue and they fixed it right way. David was very courteous and professional. I was also having an issue with my engine light coming on and other mechanic shops in Arlington kept trying to fix the issue but all they did was keep replacing different parts hoping that would fix it. This was the best experience I've ever had with a mechanic. I recently took my car to the dealership because my A/C stopped working. They tried to charge me to fix the A/C condenser and A/C system, AND they said my radiator was so badly damaged I shouldn't drive it out of the lot until I paid $1,950 to get it fixed. I disregarded their insistence and took it to David for a second opinion. He verified there was minor damage to my radiator and recommended that nothing be done to it, and fixed my A/C perfectly (in less than two days). The grand total: $460. I seriously cannot recommend this place enough. David is awesome, professional and even did a courtesy call to check how everything was going two days after I picked up my car. Wow. I have never been so impressed with a repair company. Very fair prices. Fast friendly service. I have done AC work on and off for 50 years but I did not want to remove the entire dash from this car as I had no good place to do such a big job in this crazy heat. I wanted a specialist with experience doing this kind of work. As a mechanic who does all the work on my high mileage cars, including AC (380k and 280k miles,) I didn't have a trusted mechanic. I was worried after hearing horror stories about car repair outfits, so I turned to Yelp and hoped for good luck. I wanted to hire a pro for this repair on a Highlander with only 100k miles. 2013 Honda Odyssey 135,000 miles My first time here. Service was quick, efficient and with a smile. A/C problems with busted hose and a hole in the condenser. I feel like the price was fair. I was expecting to pay $1000 and the cost was $700. Good Price Quick Repair Great Customer Service 2012 Lincoln Navigator XL, 123,000 miles I have been back for a suspension service. I had a lot of racket in the front end. It turns out there was quite a bit of work to be done including rear end issues. My Lincoln is handling like a new car again. The thing I like most about this shop is that they will talk you through the problems and repairs then they will show you the old parts to give you an idea of what was wrong. This gives you some knowledge of how things work and why the problem was occurring. Car problems are not fun but you will feel better when you come let David take care of it for you. read more

Quick and honest estimates/diagnosis. I take both my cars here for a/c services and they are always very quick and friendly. The staff and owner are very knowledgeable and will not try to take advantage of you, like many other shops. I just recently had my a/c compressor in my civic go bad and they had a new one in and running same day. Found out the part they received was faulty, so the next day they took it in again and had it fixed by the end of the day. The compressor comes with a warranty on it and they said any problems with it, just bring it on back and they'll fix it. Also, the prices are affordable and lower than any a/c shops around. Our A/C started blowing hot over the weekend and my husband decided to try adding a can of freon himself. At first it blew cold, but within an hour got hot again. We were just on our way out of Ft. Worth and it was about 110 degrees, so we called Discount Auto Air. The owner said he could fit me in right away and that a diagnostic would only cost $20. They let us, and our three dogs, wait in their nice cool lobby while they checked out the car. Turned out my husband had added too much freon and created an electrical problem! Discount Auto Air fixed it in about an hour and for MUCH less than we had thought! You always worry about getting ripped off when you need out of town auto repairs. The Google Maps app doesn't play nicely with this location. I was sent on the road leading to the nearby Arlington Humane Society. If you are driving on a gravel road, then you turned too soon. There is no big banner/sign for this location, so you'll have to pay attention to the office numbers or simply keep in mind that it is located on the south-west corner of the last building complex on Sturgeon Ct. When I first entered the shop no one was in the room. A few seconds later I was greeted by what appeared to be a teenager (probably the son of the owner). I described my problem to him and he stated that I was probably low on freon. I asked about the free diagnostic that's advertised on the window and he stated that it is free if I have the work done at their shop. The waiting/reception room is pretty basic. The TV if turned on uses an antenna that gives a spotty image. After about a 15-20 minute wait my car was ready and I paid with my credit card. The place uses one of those gadgets you plug in to your smartphone/tablet to swipe your card. All in all I was satisfied with their service and my car's AC works fine now. The place didn't have a great ambiance and the owner isn't particularly friendly, but if you're looking for affordable services I do recommend it. read more

Not very happy at all! Took my 2004 Ford explorer in and was told that my problem was a couple of switches that would be a quick fix. I immediately paid the estimate to get the work done and was less that 4 miles away when I was called and told the vehicle would not be ready until the next day, since the parts wouldn't be there until 11am. I called at 230pm the following day and the vehicle was still being worked on and finally got it back around 4. They tried to charge me again , so I had to show where I paid the estimate ($174). The second amount was $14 more than the estimate because they forgot to charge tax. I paid the difference in cash and left. Three hours later, the A/C died again. My wife took it back and was told that it needed a new compressor clutch ($246) and recommended replacing the compressor too ($800+). Closer inspection showed there was just a loose electrical connector that was the cause of the outage. This did not lead me have any confidence in their ability to properly diagnose or do any further work for me. read more

I came here due to a friend's recommendation & was pleasantly surprised by the clean office & friendly owner! I had to get my shocks, spark plugs & belt replaced in my minivan.
