I initially thought my truck had a lifter issue because of a ticking noise, so I took it to Auto Care Central. They explained they'd need to inspect the vehicle to confirm the problem. After running diagnostics, they found it was actually a stripped spark plug. They could have easily misled me into thinking I needed a new engine or another major repair, but they were honest about the issue. My truck has been running great ever since. I was planning for Auto Care Central to be my permanent choice for maintenance and repairs but am disappointed with the care received. I had a few oil changes here the past couple of months and was satisfied with the visits because there is a comfortable waiting room, and you could arrive and get checked out in about 45-60 minutes. The people seemed polite and knowledgeable as well. During my latest maintenance, I was shown my cabin and air filter and asked if I wanted to replace them, I declined the service. When I got my car back the check engine light turned on and so I got a diagnostic for free at Auto Zone that night. The diagnostic at Auto Zone reported that the Mass Air Flow Sensor may need to be replaced and the gentleman recommended going back to Auto Care Central to kindly request them to take a look and see if anything had possibly got bumped or misplaced during the maintenance. I went the next morning to Auto Care Central at opening to ask if the establishment could take a look, which they kindly agreed to do. After a few minutes the analysis was complete and I was assured that nothing was wrong under the hood. The owner believed that the check engine light had nothing to do with the work done on my car from the previous day. I asked him if he agreed with me that the timing was odd and he said it was indeed odd, but strictly coincidence. I then asked him what he believed could cause this issue and he stated that the check engine alert could be due to the MAF sensor needing to be replaced, an issue with the computer/code/electrical, or a vacuum leak but could not confirm for me without running a diagnostic. I was thankful he took the time to explain his thoughts to me but I declined the ninety-dollar diagnostic to seek more advice and went to work. About 20 minutes later my coworker offered to take a look for me. Immediately upon lifting the hood, he saw that the air filter cover was not latched properly. He latched the whole compartment correctly then used his Car Code Reader Diagnostic Scanner to manually clear P0101 and P0443 error codes which removed the check engine light. I have driven over 100 miles before I posted this review to ensure that the check engine light did not return and that the issue has been permanently resolved. Since the fix was simple, I'd expect that AutoCare could and would have identified and resolved this pretty easily. Auto Care Central's response could be due to either incompetence or dishonesty. Either are waste of a customers time. read more

RUN DONT WALK FROM THIS SHADY ESTABLISHMENT. I brought my vehicle here on July 5 because my AC was not working properly. One minute it's cold the next it's hot. I explain this to them and they assured me they would locate the issue. Instead they told me they did not find any leaks or concerns and instead recharge the AC. We'll 2 weeks later my AC is still doing the same thing so i brought it back based on their warranty. The owner (who did not provide his name) called me and was EXTREMELY dismissive and condescending about my concerns. He dismissed my issues and told me nothing is wrong with the AC. He never attempted to understand my concerns and repeatedly tried to speak over me. If you question their work they will not try to fix it properly. THIS ESTABLISHMENT IS ONLY NICE UNTIL YOU PAY THEM FOR WORK THEY EITHER DIDNT DO OR ARE NOT COMPETENT TO DO BUT WONY ADMIT. I can't tell you not to do business here but the owner is shady and disrespectful with no professionalism at all. He threaten to call the police because we demanded he be accountable for his lack competency. When you pay someone for a service you expect it to be done right and the person who is providing the service to have integrity. This establishment did not meet any of those standards. I just had my transmission replaced. Works fine but I thought I recognised the name Nader! His shop used to be by Krogers! I quit using him years ago because of the ridiculous Supply charges he imposes on us. Well he still is doing it! 5000 dollars for the transmission and 414.14 dollars for Shop Supplies! Almost 10% added on. That's ridiculous!!! It's sad he charges this way!!! Another lesson learned! Back to City Garage for me or anywhere else!!! Charges like that promotes distrust in the shop! Other shops charge maybe 20.00 for shop supplies if any! Shop supplies should be part of doing business not charged to me. I bet he does it on everything! DISHONEST OWNER: Drove 1000 miles without air conditioning in my daughters car. Next day brought it to Auto Care Central to get it fixed. It cost $1576.52, which included state inspection. The owner Nader Farokhrouz called to tell me my car was ready but it did not pass inspection! The reason that someone must have unplugged the battery cable before i dropped the car to them and it needed to be driven to reset the car! I told him that wasn't possible as i just drove 1000 miles and dropped the car off and said it had to be because his mechanic unplugged it. He said that they didnt do that. My daughter had to go back to school the next day which i had told the mechanic and so she will have to pay again to get it inspected in Austin. The garage should have known better then to try and inspect the car after the work they did, and since they didnt think ahead the owner should have not charged me for the inspection! Dishonesty is something i cannot deal with. If you cant trust a mechanic shop then there is no point in going there. Its too bad too, because there really are no reliable and honest garages that do work at a fair price anywhere. This is your warning. read more

First off, I AM NOT and employee and never have been of Auto Care Central. I have read the reviews for Auto Care Central, and must say that I find the negative ones interesting. I have been taking my vehicles to this shop since a week after it opened and will continue to do so for many reasons. After having returned from different tours in Afghanistan I tried almost 30 different shops in the area and was always disappointed. I have had a shop do a minor electrical procedure on one of my vehicles that then created continuing electrical issues that could not be identified. The personnel at Auto Care Central attempted to fix the problem over and over and over again WITHOUT charging me anything additional then the initial cost. They continued to work until the problem was located. The previous shop that I had taken it to had melted one of the 5 fuse boxes. Auto Care Central personnel worked over time to correct the problem they did not create and repaired the vehicle to working order even though a replacement part was not available. I have personally seen times when parts were forgotten to be charged for such as an injector coil and the customer was not asked for the difference and that later that same customer complain when a different injector coil went out and was charged correctly. I was in the shop on a day when a customer was told that they had the wrong battery and it was causing the problems, watched them get mad and leave, bring back another same type of battery they were told was wrong and then continue to complain. I have had and watched Auto Care Central personnel and management go out of their way, work extra hours and continue to repair vehicles on their own time and at their own cost in order to assist customers. What I have observed and found is the only problem Auto Care Central has is with the customers they receive who are in their own mind privileged, special, demanding, and self-important. Auto Care Central personnel have on numerous occasions been known to repair a continuous problem over and over again until successful, often at no additional cost to the customer. Additionally, before any repairs are done, they show on the vehicle what is wrong, what the parts cost on the computer, the man hours involved and as close to the total price as possible. They do not start or do any work without the customer signing a work order approving the work to be done. So how can someone complain they did not know? If you want a good, professional, and reliable auto care, Auto Care Central is your shop. If you are that special person that is never satisfied, this place is not for you. Dave A. These guys charged me $470 dollars to fix my car i told the what the problem was but instead of checking to see if that was the problem they just changed the part without checking the car was fixed for like 30 minutes so I was like ok I didn't tell them to fully check the car the car so the next day I take it back and they do a full Diagnostics check and they where quick to tell me brakes are bad to fix that is going to $900 to but could not fix my car on top of that they let my battery on my car die and I overheard they manger say "this is the 4 one today" these guys suck they'll try to up sell you and do nothing to your car if not make it worse by letting your battery die smh these guys are the worst they charged me over $500 for some brakes and my car is still broken these guys suck read more

10/11/2019: In reply to Nader's 10/11 comment: I have no problem paying $270 for an injector replacement (assuming I authorized it and it was needed), but I have a huge problem paying one nickel for work that was not done!! By analogy, would you pay someone $300 to fix a roof leak only to find out later he charged you to replace a vent when all he did was caulk a seam? If you really believe I faked that Nissan shop ticket, by all means please request an original from the Nissan dealership. I caught you in your deception because I know something about cars. I'm likely not the first person you tried to scam in this way, I only hope your future customers are prudent and circumspect about trusting your diagnosis and your work. Nader, your business would prosper if you were honest and treated your customers with respect, including their wallets. Hopefully this experience might change your mind about ripping off your customers. 10/11/2019: Nader claims I did not have a dealership review my case. In fact I had done that on 9/16 and the DEALERSHIP CONFIRMED MY CLAIM, not Nader's. Their shop ticket is attached, see request #4 on pg 2. The shop tickets were also attached to my reply to the BBB where I did not accept Nader's response to my complaint. Nader also claims that my credit card company denied my dispute. What planet do you live on, Nader? Not true again! After sending them the dealership's shop ticket they resolved my dispute and CREDITED MY ACCOUNT WITH THE FULL DISPUTED AMOUNT ($273.89). I received a letter from Chase Cardmember Services dated 9/22 confirming their resolution. Again, I strongly recommend that customers look elsewhere for their vehicle service. First, I used Auto Care Central for about 3 years with great service experiences. At that time, Jessie was the manager and took care of all my needs. He explained everything and costs upfront, prior to conducting work on my vehicles. A couple months ago my Saturn Sky stopped. My son said it was overheating. We brought it to the shop. Issac, the new manager said he could not get it to overheat. He said, "My technician drove it, we had it on the lift and we can't get the car to overheat". On a separate call with the owner, Nadar, he explained that the cooling fan may need to get replaced. He said, "but we got it going." Speaking to Issac again, I asked about the car overheating; his remark was it was low on coolant, but they could not find an issue. But, he said, "the car has other issues I want to make you aware of". He explained that the car basically needed a tune-up, Plugs, and other things. Total $800 plus. I asked Issac again about the cooling issue. I told him very clearly I want the issue I brought the car in for fixed first. He assured me the car didn't have a cooling issue. Since my son drives the car back and forth to school, I agreed to the work. Less than a month later the car stops from overheating again. The engine is blown. It got too hot. Their reply: "We told you it needed a new fan." My reply, "You said you got the fan going." Today the job (checking to see if the engine was able to be salvaged) that was quoted at $89 came to $256. Totally annoyed, and done with this shop, I called to pay for the repairs while I am at work, so a tow company can transport the vehicle. I was told by Issac that I could not pay over the phone to omit fraud and other issues. OK After being placed on hold for roughly 5 minutes, I spoke to the owner, Nadar, and asked for an exception. After all, I've been doing business there for years, on three different vehicles. The answer again was NO. I explained that I had the tow truck on its way and asked for it to be released and I would come by in the hour to pay for the repairs. He said yes. Tow driver calls me less than 30 minutes after the conversation with Nadar and explains the shop will not release the car because there is a payment due. Spoke with Issac, and he explains to me the repairs needed to be paid. By now I was livid. I just spoke to Nadar. Issac exclaims he didn't know I spoke to Nadar. I had to ask, "Don't you guys communicate?" What was the reason for my call while I was at work. Their professionalism has diminished. The service is not the same. And apparently, they have too much business because when I came in to pay for my repairs I let them both know this transaction would conclude our business going forward. He asked why, but then remarked, "Oh well". Everyone needs to know, if not for you the customer, businesses would not be in business. Don't accept being taken for granted. Do not bring your vehicle here. Unless it's for scheduled service. Brought a Honda Pilot after getting a quote on the phone for dismantle and replacement of belt tensioner , and belt. With parts and labor total of 375$. Average cost of tensioner = 130$, average cost of belt = 30. So 200$ for labor is a little high considering it can be done in under 2 hrs. But fine. Over the phone I was told current cost was 89$ for 1 hr of labor, because they had to pull an extra compressor bracket off and extract bolt, fine. So when I get there and realize that we are being gouged with prices on parts And labor, I kindly ask for discount seeing as I can get the parts cheaper. Of course I get shot down saying price will still be the same because of labor. So basically they planned on getting 700$ one way or another because they wanted to charge 130$ for the third part when I could get it from dealer for 60$! I kindly said no thanks and they slapped me with a bill for 139$! Somehow they added an extra half hour of labor between the time I got off the phone and got to the shop. When I questioned them they got red faced, manager was fumbling his words and the cashier tried to give me the whole "maintance job/time book" excuse that dealerships use. But you're not a dealership! Scam! Stay away from this place. Never taking my car back there. read more

Great place. Tires rotated and oil changed in less than an hour, and at half the cost the last time I took it to a dealership. I even had a simple issue with a plate on my undercarriage they fixed up free of charge. If I took that somewhere else, they probably would've charged me $200 for a 5 minute fix. Horrible establishment! Took our car in to get simple fix, and it took almost 2 weeks! They said we needed a new battery and that the one we had was no good and tried to charge us $200 for a new one! We took our own battery up there (brand new from the store) had them install it and took the "dead" battery back to the store to have them check it and they said it was fine just needed to be charged! This repair facility correctly diagnosed a stubborn ongoing issue with my vehicle intermittently failing to start and performed the repair entirely to my satisfaction. My own attempts to resolve the non-starting issue, though not a waste of time, ultimately required the diagnostic capabilities of a competent mechanic to find the cause. Don't ever come to this place. Went to get alignment done, and they forgot to securely tighten my strut bolts, alignment was off, an steering wheel was crooked, and I couldn't go back because they were already closed by the time I brought my car back after my test drive. Went out of state the next day, and by the time I came back to have it looked at, it was passed the 30 day warranty. Figured I could handle a crooked steering wheel (not knowing about the loose bolts) ended up replacing 2 tires, tie rod ends, an wheel bearings which were on the brink of complete failure and could of ended badly for me. Luckily I replaced everything myself. Mechanics there are worthless, an overcharge. ($170) for alignment. Never going back there again. read more
