Love their chicken burritos. It's flavorful, generous portion, delicious salsa. A must try if you are looking for good Mexican food!

I have lived in The AV all my life, this place has always been so good to me but I don't know what's going on now with their food? I bought food today thinking we're gonna eat some bomb food! Turns out I was waaaaaayyy wrong . My kids food was flavorless, chicken tenders flavorless, burger hard and cold and flavorless, their French fries?! Flavorless.. it disappointed my and my family. My vegetarian burrito, super wet inside because the beans and the green chili was again..flavorless.. I also bought another plate but my husband threw it out. I don't wanna day this food is terrible but from my experience it wasn't good at all.. read more

Management unable or in willing to confront an unusually loud table if customers even had a police response to an earlier incident with another customer made for an unpleasant dining experience management was either over serving or scared to confront what seemed to be regular customers wint be back suggest others stay away read more

They try and cheat you with shot glasses that only hold half a shot but they still charge you for a full shot. Very shady and ghetto and I hate that. I hate a business that is so desperate for money that they would cheat their customers for the sake of a couple of bucks. They should just close the restaurant and open up a roach coach. read more

I love Don Chato in Palmdale. The employees are just wonderful and always friendly. The food is perfect. Great place to meet my friends after work for drinks. I was so happy when I found out they were opened for take out during this quarantine. read more

Customer service could be a little better but the albondiga soup is really good has so much flavor to it taste really good. The fish tacos were so good had so much flavor and rice was really good the beans wear a little salty. Would come back and if you want to try this place you really should really good food read more

Raw undercooked shrimp in my tacos tasted terrible food had no flavor whatsoever and now I'm hoping I don't get food poisoning will not be back here read more

This place is hit and miss. I have had great experiences with them and then I have some pretty bad ones too. I have to be fair and understand that with the pandemic places are short staffed. So that is not an issue. But when it comes to food I eat I expect for it to be good and edible. Its crazy because we will place our order and literally the food comes out in like 5 minutes. That means it was probably sitting under a heating lamp. Enchiladas were cold and tacos were so soggy the tortilla broke. Now onto the service. It was fine under the circumstances. The other issue I have with them was sometimes the bill seems really big and I have now took over paying and not my husband, he doesn't really look at the receipts before he pays. Well I do and several times the bill was higher than it should be. Do I continue to eat there yes I do . There isn't much else except La Palma, which is a whole other review. read more

Good food and ambience and service I use to go there a few years ago Joined with Chuck Jones and friend Bill Badger

Great food nice drink's very enjoyable hard tacos nice place to chill and have a few drinks and chips and salsa

Place could use a facelift and lose the tacky fountain. Needs cleaning and some updating.

I love the vibe here and the food is good also, been here numerous times. The staff is always so nice and accommodating.

The food here is very delicious. It's the 1st Mexican restaurant that I LOVE. I've been looking around the antelope valley for about 9 months. Apparently everyone in the AV goes to El Toreo in Lancaster, but that restaurant has NOTHING against Don Chato. The Horchata here is the BEST I've had so far and I LOVE horchata. I will warn you, they charge $1 for a refill, but I think it's worth it for the taste. I had the shrimp enchiladas, which are served with rice and beans (unless you get la carte order) Everything on this plate has it's own flavor. And I say that because at other places, when I get a dish similar to this one, everything on it taste the same (El toreo *cough cough*) I definitely recommend this restaurant. read more

Gordon Ramsey where are you?? From the moment you enter they're establishment you realized it was last updated whenever they opened probably 20 or 30 years ago. The music and service were great. No complaints. Food, umm, I had about 3 bites and was full as heck. Their chips filled my hubby and I up we didn't have space. Aside from that, it was food from the 80's too. Very disappointed. First and last time we go. Btw... if you're on the heavier side, you're gonna need help getting out of those benches. read more

I like the set up of the place. But I ordered shrimp al mojo de ajo and it was terrible. It had pineapple and cheese mixed with rice and shrimp. I eat a lot of garlic shrimp and this tasted nothing of garlic. I do not reccomend this dish. read more

Best customerservice and food best micheladas , great family environment , great drinks

I don't know why they have less then five stars because this place is the best. The bartender during happy hour remembers our names and orders every time we go in. Which isn't all that often. Their food is amazing and every staff member is friendly. This is our go to place when we want good Mexican food. read more

Friday night about 6:30pm. Had the chicken fajitas, wife had steak. Had special request of less onion and more bellpepper, order made and cooked perfect. Manager and owner came around several times to make sure everything was going well, very attentive bus, and server. Plain but nice atmosphere. Clean, they wipe down their menus, which shows cleanliness. Prices seemed to be high, but all food is skyrocketing recently. Large quantity for the price. Overall no complaints so they deserve a 5 star tonight. read more

Don Chato's is my favorite Mexican Restaurant in Palmdale. Everyone is very friendly. From the Host at the front door to the Bartenders, Servers, and Bussers. Clearly, a family business that cares and knows the meaning of Customer Service. But there is something that is bugging me... I find myself not going as much as I like to... On day one of opening this new location in Palmdale; the Cheese Enchilada (My favorite) were perfect!!! But something happened a few weeks after where the sauce changed? Now it tastes like it straight out of a generic can? Something needs to be added to make it taste like your grandma made the sauces...lol But all in all, the best in Mexican Restaurant in Palmdale hands down. I hope to add a 5th Star once they fix the sauce issue with the cheese enchiladas. Keep up the good work! =) read more

Literally the BEST beans in town. Super authentic flavors and the texture is nothing shy of my grandmothers! food is terrible the horchata was cakey and chunky meat was raw burrito is mid just overall terrible

I've been here many times and I finally decided to make a review. The food is delicious, service is friendly/attentive, and Raul is a great bartender!! I used to go to El Toreo because it was okay Mexican food. I have also visited Las Originales and I still think this is the better restaurant for quality food and drinks. Anyone who knows me knows I'm very picky with cocktails especially margaritas. Raul knows how to make a delicious drink. This place has definitely changed in quality since its previous ownership (Don Juan). We literally come here weekly since our first visit. Try at least once!!! read more

I love this restaurant great customer service I feel like they really focus on my needs thank you Lety great lady....

Meh. We used to love this place when it was Don Juan's. When it reopened as Don Chato we gave them a try. The service was awful. We watched a waitress dump a plate of food on a customer, it took a painfully long time to get our dinner, and they messed up our order. Growing pains, we said. Two months later, we came in again. Food was good, but pricey. We were a little annoyed that each plate came out of the kitchen at different times. Fast forward. It is now 5-6 months after opening and plates still come out one at a time. Prices are high. An example: 3 taquito appetizer was $7.95. A 3 taquito dinner was $15.95. They are charging $8 for rice, beans and salad?!! The happy hour "special" for a draft Bud Light was $5. We decided against having dinner, finished our drinks, and left. We probably won't be back. read more

They have good food but tiny tables. Big parties don't fit unless you want to be caressing each other's arms .

Looking for a Mother's Day Sunday brunch called this place and they had a Mother's Day brunch , reserved for 5@10am. Walked in was greeted by the front desk hostess with a rose . Sat down and had delicious food with champagne. Apparently they have an Acton location but this palmdale is two months new. All staff members went above and beyond. Hospitality was on point, my fav was the menudo my husband was the Mole. The coffee had cinnamon in it sooo yummy! read more
