We hired Eduardo and his team this week to move us from Oakland to Las Vegas. I want to be clear, I am not going to dig on them. Everyone was super nice and fairly thoughtful. The guys that loaded me up and unleaded the stuff were all fantastic people. Eduardo and his wife are super sweet and great to talk to. But, that does not a business make. Eduardo needs a manager until he is ready. As a fledgling business I wanted to give him my business, because he is young, hope-filled, and very conscious of his customer's needs. Still there were so many problems. HOWEVER, he got most of my stuff where it was supposed to be in one piece. And that counts for a lot. - He is not insured. - I specifically said I wanted my stuff in an enclosed truck and it arrived piled (yes, piled like a clown car) on the back of his pickup. If it rained... there would have been no way. - 8:30 time to show up, got started somewhere around 11 and finished about 2pm putting us 4 hours behind schedule - Was supposed to be delivered the next morning, arrived midnight the next day. - All ... ALL of our lamp shades were missing. They were old and in great condition and classic for the beautiful maps we have... (sigh) - would not answer any of the 3 texts I sent him in the following days as he and his wife remained in Las Vegas. Only showed up 5 days later to get his moving blankets and only came when I was not home. I was rooting for him whole heartedly. I tipped well. I wanted him to shine. But, it was not great. Not bad. I was hoping to like them. I was having them help me move from my condo to my parent's house then when my house was done being built then I'd have them move those items to my new house. They broke two of my shoe cabinets, which they reimbursed me for but then I noticed they stacked all my heavy items on top of regular boxes and they started to smash and break things on the bottoms box because it couldn't stand the weight. They were able to refund me some money from the damage but that's only from what I saw. I won't know what else damage was done until I hire another company to move. read more

I used Doms moving and Hauling for moving to my new house. Honestly I was skeptical when Eduardo brought his truck if all of my stuff would fit into it. But I was wrong. His truck is not tall but long enough fitting everything into the truck. And Eduardo and his coworker were hard working ppl. We had three story town house so it was pretty tough to move out all the furniture from the rooms on the third floor, but they didn't even take a break in between to move everything out of the rooms in timely manner. Top of that, Eduardo hauled all the junk except for the piano (my junk was filled in the one car garage) with reasonable price. So it was totally hassle free for me not too worry about throwing the junk away. I would definitely use them again! On June 23rd, I booked an appointment to move on July 31st. On July 27th I was notified that the move was cancelled due to the company being in Texas for another move. It is obvious to me that the company took a more profitable move and instead of giving proper notice and allowing time for me to reschedule with another company, it put me in a very challenging situation. Fortunately, I was a logistics officer in the military so don't worry I will figure it out. Just have some decency and give your customers proper notice when canceling. Actually, in this scenario it would be appropriate for this company to pay for move of the customer who they have not given proper notice to as now I may pay 2x as much because of inproper planning on their part. read more

Eduardo and his buddy are nice hard-working individuals who are trying to get their business started. They arrived within 20 minutes of when they said they would and were speedy and willing to move us on Christmas Eve. They helped us move from Oakland to an area 3.5 hours away, and were polite, friendly, and courteous the entire time. However, we experienced four things that a more established business would not do: 1. Five days prior to the move day, I explicitly laid out the details of our arrangement with our needs and a price breakdown for move-in, move out, and delivery fees, which he confirmed. One of the explicit details of our arrangement was that they would arrive with a 15 foot truck. The morning of the move I got a call from Eduardo who said that their truck broke down and would not start. He recommended that we not move forward and I told him that we were not able to reschedule and that we should move forward with what we could. He arrived with a pick up truck towing a 10 foot trailer. I appreciated his commitment and dedication to finishing the job that he committed to, though I was nervous that the smaller truck and trailer would not be large enough but we had to move that day. He did have another truck in case we needed it. 2. We bought the two of them lunch right before getting on the road. It was during this time that we were able to get to know them a little better which is why I still believe that this business can be successful in the future though they have a lot of learning to do. After loading and getting on the road, my partner and I were following the truck because we were nervous about some of the winding roads ahead. Five minutes into the drive on the highway we see parts of our bed frame flying off from the top of the truck where it had been tied down because it did not fit inside the trailer. They pulled over and Eduardo said that he would pay for the full cost of the same make and model bedframe. 3. On the drive up I get a text from Eduardo asking to confirm a new price from the one that we had agreed to. My assumption is that he is trying to make sure that even with deducting the cost of the bedframe he and his buddy are still able to make a little bit of money from this job so I understand what he's trying to do. However I was trying to avoid this negotiation by clearly articulating the details at the beginning. But because their price was so much lower every other competitor the price increase Eduardo asked for was still reasonable and I think a result of inaccurate price quoting. 4. When we got to our final destination they were able to unload quickly. The following day we were taking a closer look at of our belongings and realize that a few of our things that we had hoped would be wrapped in blankets had scratches from the way they were packed. I would strongly recommend them for any job that does not contain valuables or require a larger truck. Absolutely do not use this service. We got ghosted two days in a row by these guys. We scheduled a move for Saturday, 10AM. The movers did not show up. They said they were renting a truck and the payment wouldn't go through. They had very poor communication. They then rescheduled for the next day and promised they would be there on time at 10AM Sunday. We had to go buy an air mattress for the night as we had no furniture. The next day 10:00 rolls around and they said they were running late. By 11:30 they still had not picked up their truck and they cancelled. Once again, we were left with no ability to move our furniture into our home. We now have to take the day off work tomorrow to meet a new set of movers we had to book last minute after this company didn't show for the 2nd day. Let me start by saying that my wife and I were at the verge of pulling all our hair out trying to find an honest reputable moving company for our move from California to Florida. After speaking to half a dozen large national moving companies and hearing that delivery windows were 30-40 days and that the price was a moving target based on weight and the number of rooms, not to mention the exorbitant and very unreasonable pricing most of them had, we decided to get creative and call around for a mom and pop type of moving company. Again, we struck out either because they did not do cross country moves, or the reviews were terrible, ranging from the truly horrible to the absolute miserable. And then, we got lucky, and found Eduardo Valdez. This very polite and professional young man immediately gave me three recent cross country move references. All three were extremely satisfied in all respects. We met with Eduardo and his colleague Raymond, at our storage facility. He took a look at what we were moving and he gave us a fair price, all inclusive, and firm. We signed a contract with him with the exact terms and on the moving day, he was there on the button. They loaded their 18 ft trailer perfectly with our things, we double locked the trailer for security, I paid a $3K deposit to handle his gas and expenses, and off he went. We used Find My Friend app on the iPhones and we all knew exactly where each was located. We drove too. He arrived at our new home exactly 2 hours after we did. Perfect timing. He unloaded perfectly. Nothing broken, nothing missing. We were so thrilled that I was compelled to even add a tip on top of the agreed upon price, and so thrilled that I will have Eduardo move my son from SF to San Diego.
