I was sold with her amazing replies to the misguided idiots who think this pizza place is anything less than amazing. I had been CRAVING a decent pizza. It's been since my last trip out of state since I've had anything remotely like traditional, cheesy, crunchy, savory goodness. After work on a Friday, my husband and I trekked over to Mayo. We wanted to check out the selection of desserts and settled on the yummy looking cannoli and went back out to our car to phone in our order. The place smells amazing. It's a legit pizza place and everything I was expecting. We waited an acceptable amount of time and went in for our pizza. The car smelled so good on our 40 min drive back home. We got home and honestly no one waited to reheat the pizza. We all just dove into the enormous, cheesy, deliciousness we had been waiting so long for. I was not disappointed. We have put Angelina's on our list of places to go. Worth the drive. Worth the wait. Worth it.

The place is located in a non-descript and, dare I say, run-down, strip shopping center (even that is too big and fancy a phrase for this establishment). There are signs everywhere: (1) the menu is on the wall; and (2) whining costs you $5.00 extra; and (3) you can work here but you have to be able to lift 60 pound bags of flour; and so on and so on. Family pictures are left, haphazardly on the counter and placed on the walls as if someone happened to be exiting the building during a fire alarm. It's kind of a mess. But, I tell you, the sandwiches I had there were some of the best Italian subs I have ever had. The meats were high quality. The add-ons were fresh, plentiful and beautifully balanced - just enough spice, just enough mayo, just enough oregano. The Italian dressing was excellent. The bun was substantial, strong enough to contain its ingredients and cushiony soft. Baked just that morning, said the owner, Angelina. Let's talk about Angelina. No nonsense. Get'er done. She is there for 1 reason - to make you the best food she can possibly put together. She's a little bit New York and a little bit of red neck Maryland, all balled up into the perfect SNL character. I heard about her difficulty hiring hard working people, I heard about her daughters, I heard about how tired she was today, I heard her say to call in my order next time because she doesn't like people waiting at the counter.
