We were visiting Athens, Tennessee and wanted to explore the small downtown area. I looked to Yelp to find a spot for lunch and this restaurant came up with some decent reviews for the chicken salad and the pimento sandwiches. I can't speak for the quality of the chicken salad sandwich because my husband ate it and he's pretty forgiving, but the pimento cheese sandwich was horrible. To add insult to injury, I poured myself a lemonade soon to discover it was water. When I spoke to one of the teenage cooks/servers about it, she said she knew, but didn't know how to fix it. Just a half block away is another really wonderful restaurant called Pie Hound. There are other restaurants in the area that would also be better choices.

Today I tried a double cheeseburger with all the fixxins. Burger was a smashed style patty. Thin with a crispy crust outer texture. I did find the burgers to be a tad bit dry. The patties were slightly seasoned and a dash more could have helped. The fixings of pickles and tomatoes was on the order. The tomatoes were paper thin and only provided a transparent appearance but no substantial taste enhancement. Probably ask for extra tomatoes next time to make a tomato slice. Overall the burger was decent with a need of a little more seasoning for the patties and thicker tomatoes. I will give it another try and try a deli sandwich.
