Unlike your run-of-the-mill sandwich shop that offer lettuce and tomato, Butch's sandwiches also include onion and pickles for a real "pow" of flavor. The meat is high quality and was almost like fresh roasted. The potato salad was the typical Reser's style, but still tasty and a nice tangy complement to the sandwich. A half-sandwich at Butch's is the size one would consider a full sandwich if you made it at home, so a full sandwich would really be like having two. I paid around $11 for the half and the salad, making it a much better deal and a healthier alternative to the burgers and burritos you can get nearby. The shop isn't fancy, with a couple of communal tables inside and a few picnic tables outside, but the service was friendly. I'll be back soon!

Right when we walked in the door, we were hit with the smell of freshly baking bread. We ordered a variety of items from a chicken salad salad, a tuna salad salad, a tuna salad wrap with avocado, a toasted grilled cheese and a turkey avocado sandwich on a croissant. The stars of the show may have been the potato salad and the pasta salad. All and all everything tasted fresh and delicious. My 4-year-old picky eater requested we go back the next day and that's how I knew it was top notch. As if this place couldn't get any better, we had impeccable service from the husband and wife owners each day. They informed us they've been in business over 25 years and the long line developing behind us was a testament just to house special this place actually is. Definitely give this spot a try!

The only thing I have to say is they could put a little more bacon on the sandwich for what you pay for the sandwich. All in all it's a really good sandwich. I also ordered a side of the macaroni salad. The macaroni salad is always really good and you can tell they make it fresh every day.

On June 20th, 2026, Substation has closed its doors after a fantastic run! Service- owner was always so personable and remembered a face! The staff was united because he build a community and special outings for employees. The memories were always posted on the wall. Ambiance- the owner and family made the seating and tables I recall. Ambiance is not the best, as the interior of the restaurant can feel dated--the art does not help--and the booths that comprise the bulk of the seating is private (which I love) but always dirty.
