I had been trying to eat at Dominic's Diner for a couple of months, but I did not find a parking spot in front of the restaurant until today. Once inside the restaurant, I asked an employee about their parking, and she replied that customers may park also on the street or even across the street at the Subway restaurant (which is temporarily closed and used to open later in the day). Dominic's Diner serves breakfast and lunch on most days of the week. Be sure to look up their current hours before you drive there. Examples of their foods are eggs, bacon, ham, pancakes, French toast, omelettes, oatmeal, sandwiches, burgers, salads, and onion rings. Please see my attached photos for the full menus in October 2023. As soon as my husband and I entered the restaurant, we saw a sign that said to wait to be seated, but an employee soon told us that we could choose our table. We sat at a four-seat table near the window. After a few minutes, our waitress introduced herself and gave us menus. Throughout the service, she smiled and made courteous conversation. She promptly took our orders and brought out our beverages and foods. My husband felt impressed that this restaurant offers both Coke and Pepsi products. Here are my reviews for our foods: French toast with bacon - $13.25 - 4.5 stars - I received three slices of French toast, which were fresh and wonderfully sweet, and three slices of bacon, which were meaty, crispy, and satisfyingly salty. Cheese omelette with ham - $12.25 + $3 - 4 stars - My husband said that this omelette was a very large size and that the taste was good. On the side were home fries, which were cubes of potato that tasted very good, and toast, which was toasted well. We paid for our meal up front. The cashier used a swivel touch-pad for a cash register. As we were leaving, another employee thanked us and said goodbye. read more

Best breakfast spot in Pittsburgh. Parking: very limited parking but we were there on a Sunday morning and were able to find a spot. Dining area: The restaurant is pretty small but again we were lucky to find an open table. Shortly after we arrived there were a few parties that had to wait for seating. Food: This was not only the best breakfast that I had in Pittsburgh but in most other places too. I had the pancakes with scrambled eggs and sausage. They make their sausage in house and I went with the spicy sausage though there were different options. I also had pepper jack cheese in the eggs. The pancakes were also quite large and were some of the best I have had in any restaurant. The coffee was also very good and the waitress also provided a to go cup for it as well. Service: The service was excellent. Very friendly and attentive staff. The owners were also there and interacting with the patrons. Looking for a hometown, down-to-earth diner? Search no more. Established in 2021, this small, law enforcement/military-friendly restaurant serves breakfast and lunch (closed Monday/Tuesday). The breakfast menu is not very big and prices are a bit higher than what you'd expect for diner grub, but rest assured you're likely to get two meals out of whatever you order. I went with the veggie omelette, which was served with home fries, and I could only eat half of it. The omelette was essentially a plain egg omelette stuffed with veggies, which is different. I'm used to having diced veggies mixed into the eggs, but Dominic's does it differently and that's okay. My partner got the "Big Mike" breakfast sandwich and it was, as expected, big. We took half of it home. Overall, we had a good experience at Dominic's. Friendly staff and good food. Just note that there's limited parking out front. read more

I was in the area and decided to give a new place a shot. Dominic's is a small but cozy place. The decor is nice and has a good vibe. The waitress was very friendly and helpful. Saw this diner on KDA Pittsburgh Today Live - looked great, menu looked good. Headed out for breakfast this am and thought we would give it a try. First impressions - extremely busy and very limited parking - good sign in being busy, major hassle to park - we ended up across Babcock blvd about a block away. Got in, got seated, and got our drink order in and the coffees and water came out right away. This is a small place - about 7 or 8 tables and the inside is maxed with that those tables. Good coffee in nice big mugs - so far so good Unfortunately we finished our coffees and waited a little over 20 minutes without a waitress even coming close to asking if we needed more coffee and forget about taking our order. No good excuse for this as there were 2 waitresses and a hostess and two tables who came in after we were seated both had ordered food by the time we left. After a few attempts to get someone's attention we gave up on waiting any longer. When we were at the front counter to pay for the coffees the woman behind the counter apologized and told us the coffee was on the house. So - Maybe we try again when they aren't so busy so we can provide a review of the food as it looked good from afar. read more

What a wonderful find this was. We were in town from out of state and so we had no idea where to go for a good breakfast and we saw Dominic's on Yelp. The staff were so accommodating, pushing tables together for our large group, serving with care and good humor, and the food was delicious. The French toast and homemade sausage patties were particular favorites. Unfortunately we had all come to Pittsburgh for a funeral and the kindness of the staff really lifted our spirits. We had been wanting to try Dominic's but had been busy all spring and summer. So glad we finally made the time to do it. We were lucky a table opened up not too long after we came. The lady that cleans up and makes sure everything is in order seated us. She was very kind and great at her job. She keeps the place very nice. She even brought us waters. The waitress eventually came and took our orders. She wasn't able to come back much because they were short staffed and she was the only one. We understood. It did take a pretty long time to get our food. Not only did they have a packed restaurant, but they also had a lot of to go orders. It was a little frustrating but we tried to be patient and understand. My husband really liked his pancakes. He's obsessed with pancakes and gets them everywhere he goes. He and my mom really liked the crispy bacon. My mom had French toast and liked it. I had the sausage which is homemade and really good. I also had one pancake. We all shared the home fries which were good. Come with patience when you come here because you'll wait quite a while for your food. Eventually, they did apologize which was appreciated. read more

Popped in for a quick to-go sandwich as we waited for the pasta ladies to arrive at Pasta by (PS - epically good fresh dried pasta!) - and boy did this place deliver! Friendly staff at the counter took my order -- a BLT (u get a choice of side salad, fries, or home fries) -- and they took care to ask if I wanted no tomato on my salad since I'd asked for no "t" on my BLT. There's plenty of seating if you want to dine in. Basic diner decor - tho not kitschy. The sandwich came out quickly and ohhhh sooo good with super fresh bread from the aways fabulous Mancini's. The applewood smoked bacon was plentiful and the lettuce fresh. Really flavorful sandwich. The salad was a basic small salad - crispy cukes, slivered carrots, black olives (urg - those tasteless pizza ones - not kalamata - but, hey, it's a diner!) & red onion --- and I got their tangy homemade Italian dressing. Absolutely loved this place. It's small and the parking lot has few spots, but it's worth it 100%. Such a friendly atmosphere. The server we had was so kind and talked with us about the area and the menu- even the customers were friendly. The sausage is home made and the pancakes were great. We went with our two kids and it was great. Definitely will come back when we're back in PA. read more

Just ate at this place for the first time, with a group of friends, and the food was fantastic. Try the homemade sausage -- as good as everyone says. I had the pancakes, which were as big as frisbees. Friendly service, and our server offered us coffee and other drinks to go. It was a nice touch. Tasty food! I got the classic eggs, toast, home fries and sausage. They use Mancinis bread and have homemade sausage. My boyfriend got the western Omelet. Supposed to be three eggs but pretty sure they doubled the eggs. Big portions which is ok with me! Waitress was friendly but service was a little slow - but give props to everyone working in the service field industry right now. Breakfast and lunch served all day.
