What a cute and colorful place. Small inside seating and lots of outdoor seating. It's set back from the street, but you won't miss the color pop. The service was good, they were accommodating and kind. The food was good! I got the taquitos with asada on top. The asada had good flavor and texture. It wasn't too tough like some places can be. Also got the chips and salsa, delicious. Simple but effective. The Chile Relleno plate was yummy and the rice and beans that came with it were pretty good too. Just needed a little more salt for me. It's a good solid place. Not the best I've had but definitely worth trying again. read more

Hi guys, leaving this review to help my fellow yelpers. I staid at the tiny dig homes near by as I'm visiting from Los Angeles. Let me tell you ! When i came across this place i couldn't stop coming back lol . I had the chilaquiles every morning that i was here visiting. We have VERY good competitive Mexican food back at home and this has to be one of if not the best chilaquiles I've ever had. I will for sure miss this place. If you are in question about walking in, please don't question it and walk in! You won't regret it! By far the best Mexican food ive had in Portland. read more

Went on Thursday night after seeing a movie at the Hollywood Theater and we were glad we did. I got the "Christmas" enchiladas to taste both the green and red version. Wife got 2 tacos with beans and rice, one asada and one al pastor. We also had chips and guac and a margarita and Paloma. Everything was delicious. Chips were warm and guacamole was delicious. Huge fan of their Lengua! Very tender and generous on the portion. The hand-pressed corn torillas were also heavenly. Al Pastor was tender but a tad fatty and bland for me. Nothing their delicious and fiery salsas couldn't improve though. Enchiladas Mole Plate was probably my least favorite. This might just be because I'm not an expert on mole but I was expecting something more savory and/or sweet but this one was just very muted...Rice and beans were great and so were the enchiladas themselves. Overall, a super nice Mexican spot with open-air seatings and friendly staffs. A good casual hangout/dinner spot. read more

I visited Domingo's on a weekday for dinner recently. It was easy to order and then, sit down. There's a lot of great seating inside and outside of the restaurant. The service was good and it was friendly. I got chips and salsa for my boyfriend and I. I got a carne asada burrito for myself. The chips were good. The pico de gallo was fine. The burrito was on the medium side and was very tasty. I also liked both of the salsas in the bottles given especially the green one. I was happy with my experience here and I would come back. read more

Had the Bistec Encebollado and a margarita while enjoying a sunny day on their patio. Staff was friendly and food served promptly. Their patio has shaded and sun seats along with indoors. The meat with my dish i didnt find too flavorful and had a decent amount of fat on it but the sautéed onions, rice, beans, and tortillas along with marg were all good. Didn't care much for the green salsa but the red I ended up putting on everything. read more

It was slammed in Cinco de Mayo so I didn't order everything I wanted, but I enjoyed what I got! For some reason I never knew it was tucked away where it is, so I definitely would have missed it if I wasn't invited to come. It looked like a fun atmosphere and folks were kind. This was a great family owned Mexican restaurant. I was very impressed. We had a group of nine that wanted to dine in for lunch. They may be accommodations for us. For my lunch got an enchilada plate with beans and rice. It was absolutely delicious! Not over spiced, Not undercooked, hot as it was brought to the table. I definitely would eat here again. I actually referred a few people to the restaurant for lunch. They also thought it was very delicious. This was their newest location, but was informed that they have another location that has been there for 20 years. If you're in the area definitely tried Domingo's. Highly recommended. We had so much fun here for lunch today. We walked in and were immediately greeted with such great energy and happiness from the staff there and ordered our food (which was made relatively quickly!) I love the way this space is decorated and really reminds me of being back home. We got the chance to sit down with the owners and just converse and have a good time together. First time dining at Domingo's. The vibrants colors on the outside , you cannot miss it. We were greeted by James, immediately makes me feel home. I asked about the recipes he told us that they were family recipes and they work here too. This restaurant just celebrated its first anniversary in January. Well time to eat, we ordered chilaquiles con salsa verde, the chips taste fresh and crunchy, love the sauce and has the right amount of chips, I was looking for soups they offered menudo and pozole I choose the pozole loved the flavor , broth was amazing with the touched of the lime juice wedge that comes with it, I love nopales we ordered 2 , they were well seasoned, and to finish we had to try the tamales they have raja con queso and chicken both were to died for by this time we were so full. Next time we come back to Portland we will be back to eat here. Thanks James and family for such an amazing experience!!!!!!!! See you soon . It was amazing and it felt like I was in a magical world with fairy princesses when I tried their burrito. I'm lactose intolerant but I had to indulge in the delicious cheesy beans. This place is AMAZING! Great area to hang out in outside on a beautiful morning. I had the breakfast burrito and a Modelo. The service was fast and the food was terrific . The ingredients in the burrito were balanced. The hot sauce that was available on the table gave the burrito a wonderful kick. I'd recommend this place staying at one. I'm looking forward to getting back there as soon as I can. read more

Finally! A classic Mexican restaurant option in the Kearns neighborhood restaurant row (a couple blocks off NE 28th). We live nearby and are elated that Domingo's has opened at this location. My family find ourselves eating here about once a week. Often for takeout but sometimes to dine in. This Mexican food is at the high echelon of what's available in Portland. The mole and other Oaxacan dishes are a standout here. But my family has been partial to all preparations involving the pork al pastore. And I'm grateful they now have beer on tap. This seems to be a family-run operation and the service is genuinely friendly. The food comes out quickly-- so it's practical to just show up, order takeout, and skip the online ordering platform. The ambiance is simple. The outdoor space will be fantastic and likely dog friendly as the weather improves. read more

Hands down, best mexican restaurant in oregon. I'm from Southern California, and been to many mexican restaurants out there however this one really impressed me and my family! So authentic and my whole family cleaned their whole plates. Service is amazing, super friendly and gave out great recommendations. Ambiance is also very nice. I had a craving for Mexican food, lengua (beef tongue) which is rare to find from what I have seen. The lengua was delicious and the owners were very welcoming. The restaurant was very clean and the seating atmosphere was also welcoming. I will be back and I do definitely recommend. read more

We have been customers at Santo Domingo (owned and operated by the same amazing family) through the last two decades and were so excited to learn they opened a second restaurant nearby! First of all...the ambience! I loved walking into this vibrant space-inviting music, gorgeous specially curated artesanía showcasing the elaborate colorful craftsmanship unique to Oaxaca (presented in an art gallery style- good job Leslie!! ¡Eres artista de verdad! ;)) On a cold, grey day, this inviting and warm environment was perfect. Next...The food was DELICIOUS! There are not too many places located close in NE Portland where you can enjoy such authentic, regional Oaxacan dishes such as mole and Tlayudas. Back then, there was an amazing business in here called The Cardinal Room (?). I loved it, they had a romantic cozy ambiance and incredible chicken sandwiches. While the food is gone, the unique, romantic ambience is back and the drinks here are next level. It's a cocktail bar that has amazingly crafted drinks but ZERO pretension about them. In fact, the service here is incredible. Friendly, fun, and frequent. They were very good at just making random creations based solely on flavors you like. But even if you are ordering on-menu, there is something here for everyone and none of the drinks are boring. Love their various droppers with infused mignottes and hot sauces. Really made it fun to try out different combos. We also got the cold smoked mussels, the hamachi crudo, grilled oysters, lobster roll, rockfish, and the little gem salad. In order of least favorite to favorite, the little gem salad was good but just not that memorable or spetqcular the way the other dishes were. Next, the grilled oysters were flavorful with the garlic and lime but I wished there was a little more kimchi flavor and overall more sauce given the size of the oysters (they were huge!). The lobster roll was good and I appreciated the different take on a lobster roll but my favorite lobster rolls that really accentuate the lobster flavor and this masked it a little. The hamachi crudo was a surprise. It's a dish you see a lot and I was a little worried about how the pineapple might overtake the rest of the flavors but that didn't happen. The balance between sweet, savory, sour, and crunch from the peanuts was perfect and every bite was really enjoyable. Finally, my favorite was the cold smoked mussels. You never know how fish sauce and tom kha might overwhelm everything but again, their chef understands flavor balance really well. You could taste all the flavors, the smokiness, the slight bitter and sour umami flavors and slight sweetness to round it out. It was outstanding and highly recommend. They also have great cocktails that go well with their dishes. Really enjoyed the experience here and will definitely come back.

Domingo's is the real deal, and I cannot recommend it enough. We came through with a big crew and were stoked to see they have large tables both inside and out on the patio. It's rare to find a spot that can actually handle a group without making you split across two tables, so this place is now firmly on my "big party" list. The patio especially is a vibe when the weather cooperates. Now let's talk about the mole. The mole options here are honestly outstanding. Rich, deep, layered flavors, the kind that taste like they've been simmering and getting better all day. I had a hard time picking just one, and after sampling around the table, I'd happily order any of them again. If you're a mole person, this is your spot. The staff is super friendly on top of all of it. Warm, welcoming, and patient with our big group as we worked through the menu and asked too many questions. The lunch special taco is only available in hard shell with a limited choice of ground beef (yuck), chicken or bean and cheese. The whole thing is topped with shredded iceberg lettuce (double yuck) then drowned in old school ranchero sauce with gobs of cheese. Very 1980s like. That said, the soft taco with carnitas was very good! So it seems like they have a mishmash of gringo Mexican and some authentic dishes. The interior is very inviting while the service was friendly and fast. Only saw Mexican staff and Mexican customers, a good thing. One and done for me, but many will enjoy this type of venue.

Everything we had tasted fantastic, full of flavors, fresh, just delicious. The staff seemed unprepared for the event, unprofessional in their response, and focused on serving drinks while food orders were neglected. To make our experience worse, the restaurant advertised a "World Cup Specials Menu," but those prices were not honored. We ended up paying full price despite the promotion. Don't understand why a business would advertise specials and then refuse to honor them. Overall, this was a very disappointing experience, and I would not return.
