The crew was as nice and as accommodating as one can expect. Although the project took a little longer than we had planned, the result was spectacular. Reedco took an uninhabitable apartment and turned it into an apartment that's not only livable, but stunning. Thank you Bob, and a big thank you to the entire crew. They always went the extra mile to give us what we wanted. The crew kept the house clean, responded quickly to our calls, and coordinated well with subcontractors (cabinets, windows, plumbing, electrical, countertops, brickwork, mudders, painter). Jimmy was a wizard handling the permitting process. Stuart has a practical approach to solving all the issues that arise during construction. He discussed the problems and offered solutions. As things were finished he came back and fixed the little glitches that come up and made adjustments as needed. The work was done in two months, as promised, and, considering the adjustments we made along the way, was essentially on budget. Results are amazing, like living in a new house. As an architect, I can only say I wish there were more contractors like Michael. Not only is he an…read moreenjoyable personality to work with, but he's got four qualities I always look for in a contractor: 1. He does thorough work. He is one of the few contractors I don't feel the need to monitor constantly -- his work is clean and tight, and when I return from the job site I feel comfortable the place is in experienced hands. 2. He asks questions. That may not seem like much, but when he calls up to ask me to clarify a detail, he's saving time and money a more presumptuous contractor would spend on the re-do. 3. He's cost-conscious. I've actually had pretty good luck finding contractors with an eye on keeping costs in line, but Michael's savvy enough to identify areas where spending more will reduce costs in related areas, saving money in the big picture -- such as specifying a high-efficiency heater to save associated flue and framing costs. 4. He's patient with clients. I recently saw Michael weather the abuses of the only client I could call irrational. Don't get me wrong -- satisfying the client is the ultimate goal no matter how many times they change their minds. But once in a while you get a bad seed -- or a vexatious litigant. I don't know if it was his background in social work, but Michael was as close to saintly as I could imagine a contractor in carrying through. Some contractors do a fine job, but are too abrasive to work with. Some do such shoddy work I don't even want to remember them. But Michael Payesko is one of the few contractors I look forward to working with again.

We had a bit of a mold problem growing in a corner of our living room, and I found Michael through other Yelp reviews. I wasn't sure if he'd do such a minor residential issue (as he is primarily a "big project" guy), but lo and behold he said he could come out that same day (after work, mind you) and check out the problem. Turns out he likes smaller jobs. Within a matter of minutes, he identified the problem as a nearby leaky pipe and tore back the drywall to reveal exactly what he predicted. My girlfriend was very concerned with the mold, and Michael was reassuring and conscious of her concerns. He advised us exactly what should be done to fix the issue and gave us all the options we had in terms of handling the mold, but also gave us his honest opinion (just let it air out and bleach it). He made a list of materials he needed to pick up, and returned the next day to fix the pipe; he even bought us a fan (which we didn't have) to help air out the wall when the leak was fixed. It was one of the quickest turnarounds from contacting him to getting the problem fixed. The area is currently drying out, but we will certainly have him back out to patch the hole in a few weeks. Oh, and all of this was done for less than the cost of having our mold inspector take an air sample...

He had suggestions for an in-wall toilet, a corner sink, window ledge niche, and talked us out of a doorless shower (thank you!). He knows small spaces very well and was able to place the fixtures in their best locations. George would give us a heads up on our requests that were going to cost more than ~1k. He had some subcontractors come in to help with varying degrees of quality and cleanliness. We are glad he managed the plumbing contractor who had to come back 3 times. His paint jobs varied quite a bit in consistency depending on who was painting. The best part of working with George was that we were expecting our first child, and he worked very hard to complete the project before her due date. We hired Brian Daigle Construction after we lost $100k to a crooked contractor who left our home…read moregutted and in total disrepair while we were in lockdown elsewhere due to covid. I was in a vulnerable position after this experience and desperate to complete my home renovation asap, and Brian reassured me that he would "save my project." I put my faith in Brian and agreed to a lump sum project with a significant portion up front. The contract stated the project would be completed in 6 months, but Brian promised it would only take 4 months. We became concerned about Brian's conduct soon after beginning to work with him. He sent me inappropriate/flirtatious texts while drunk and also revealed to us that his own wife had kicked him out of his house for drinking too much. I had my husband confront him about this and he apologized and reassured us that he would conduct himself as a professional going forward, so we decided to move forward with him. Things went well for a couple of months before the project started to fall apart. Brian was increasingly behind schedule and the renovation was somehow going over budget even though we weren't adding to the scope of the project. We went out of town for two weeks in the 4th month of the renovation and came back to find that the project had completely stalled, and that Brian had "fired" two crew members (later I learned he let them go because he couldn't pay them). I also found out that the last remaining crew member quit because hadn't been paid in three weeks and was owed $2000. I confronted Brian with my concerns that the project was months behind and only a quarter of the way complete although we had already paid him three quarters of the budget. He swore to me that he was going to do right by us, made a bunch of empty promises, and then proceeded not to come to work once for a week straight. At that point I fired Brian and then touched base with all the sub-contractors and the crew. I was shocked to discover the depth of Brian's deception and mismanagement of my project. It turns out that he had pocketed most of the $140k I paid him and failed to make payments to the subcontractors which should have been paid in full at this stage. I also learned that he had instructed the crew to only work part-time because he didn't want to pay them more than that. And the subs expressed to me that they were about to leave the project because he kept putting them off and blaming it on me. In short, he was lying to everyone, he stole funds from the project, and his addiction issues were obviously interfering with his capacity to work. The financial losses I've sustained due to Brian's theft of my installment payments are significant. I rehired all the crew and subs and had to repay them what I already gave Brian to pay them. I gave Brian a chance to make this right and refund me the money he owes me: I allowed him a month and half to recover the funds and I offered him a payment plan. He has refused to take responsibility and even attempted to slander me to his former subs and crew (who aren't buying it) and tried to convince them not to work with me. We have been basically homeless for a year during the shelter in place due to negligent and dishonest contractors and now we will continue to be without a home for the entire holiday season. It is a shame that this happens so frequently and it's almost impossible to find a trustworthy and reliable contractor. I wouldn't wish this experience on anyone and I intend to take legal action against Brian Daigle Construction as well as file a complaint against his license so he cannot do this to anyone again.

It was a large renovation (all new kitchen - including removing walls - and bathrooms) and it all came together on budget and was amazingly low-stress! We spent a fair amount of time upfront with Brian scoping the project and doing due-diligence on the house so when we agreed on a final budget, there were no surprises and no change orders. Let me say that again: Brian delivered the project on budget. It meant we never had to choose between compromising on our vision or paying more than we expected. Form to Finish was not our lowest initial bid, but it was the most professional and I have no doubt what we got the best value in the end. Another important measure of a contractor is how they treat their crew. Brian clearly cares for his team and they clearly enjoy working for him. You can tell they all take pride in their work and enjoy what they do. It is a pleasure to be around Brian and the team -- they are all very friendly, helpful, and courteous. They listened to our needs, always consulted us when there was a design decision, and never talked down to us (even when they clearly had more expertise they found respectful ways to help us come along). They were in good communication with each other and were flexible when scheduling issues invariably came up. They used top of the line tools and equipment that minimized dust as much as possible and the jobsite was always cleaned and tidied at the end of the day. Finally, Brian is a talented woodworker and creative problem solver. Our renovation ended up with a couple nice custom solutions and details that make the overall project look classier than we initially scoped. We really can't recommend Brian and Form to Finish highly enough.

My wife and I purchased our house back in 2008 and since then we basically have had Brian from Form…read moreto Finish Construction on speed dial as our "home fix-up" consultant. First of all, when we first purchased our home the original home inspector didn't do a thorough job of evaluating it. The biggest issue, was that he missed three humongous bee hives living right above our downstairs bathroom. From that point, we felt like we needed a second opinion on the safety and soundness of our recently purchased home-that's where Brian came in. Brian took a look at our house and gave us honest feedback on some of the problem areas of the home and things that we didn't need to worry about. Since we were first time home buyers, he served as a great home consultant for us, as we asked him a ton of questions about our home and he provided suggested ways to get things fixed. Since then, Brian has helped us with a ton of work for us. He did all of the initial home fix-ups: moved the front door/window and installed baseboards in all of the downstairs rooms. We later discovered some rotting wood in one of our bathrooms and did the entire bathroom remodel for us. He also helped us battle the city of Novato over some ridiculous permit issues. He was able to find us an engineer to help make sure the loft in our garage was strong enough to support our furnace as well as make sure it was up to code. Recently we noticed that our deck needed to be repaired (again rotting wood and poor construction). Brian came out, showed us some great sketches and did a great job putting up a new deck for us, much quicker than we thought. While he was working on the deck, he noticed a few things in the structure of our house that concerned him. He crawled through our attic and crawl space to check it out a little more and noticed a few things that didn't seem normal. As a result, we uncovered some "short cuts" that were taken by the previous home owner when they did a major remodel (added a second floor). We were extremely grateful that Brian noticed the shortcuts because our two year old daughter slept right below the sketchy constuction. You don't know how much it means to us to know that our daughter is a little safer in the house now because of the few extra minutes Brian took to investigate something that didn't seem right to him. We are currently working with Brian to get the original construciton drawings from the city of Novato to see exactly what was done with the remodel. In addition to all of the above, Brian has helped us with a number of smaller jobs around our house: sealing up the crawl space so a particular raccoon couldn't get in anymore, replaced damaged shingles from the same raccoon, replaced damaged vents to attic and built us a custom bed frame for a daybed. If you couldn't tell, I would highly recommend Brian and Form to Finish construction. Being a first time home owner as well as someone not too handy with tools, his services are greatly valued in my household and we will definitely be calling on him whenever we have an issue in our house.
