The idea of visiting Dollywood when I spent lockdown during Covid watching theme park videos on YouTube. I've always heard about Dollywood, but hadn't had the opportunity to visit. I mainly heard the food was AMAZING. It's been 5 years and I was FINALLY able to visit Dollywood with my family! What a treat! I had such a great time at Dollywood! The park was incredibly clean and well-maintained, and every staff member I met was so kind and welcoming--it really made the experience even better. The cinnamon bread alone is worth the trip - it's absolutely delicious and lived up to all the hype. The roller coasters were a blast, especially Lightning Rod and Thunderhead - both thrilling and so much fun to ride. My family also enjoyed Wild Eagle and Firechaser. We went in August and there was so lines and crowds were limited. We happily rode many coasters back to back. As a rollercoaster junkie this place was amazing. The Thunderhead was by far the best wooden roller coaster I've ever ridden. It was so much faster than I would have expected from a wooden coaster. The rides are not too bad, the shows are mediocre, parking is far out, you can walk or ride a tram and stop at the other parking pick ups. The worst thing was the smell. The front area of the park smells like an outhouse, don't know if it's the stream or what.... Ambiance: The park was very clean! I was shocked because kid friendly places typically are not. Food: There were some food options open (restaurant and casual eateries), but many restaurants were near closing around 6/7 PM! That was disappointing because the park stays open later! This has to be the worst experience EVER. We flew into town to ride the rides. Instead we learned what TD (temporary delayed) and TC (temporary closed) means. So many rides were closed. So many stores, restaurants, and experiences were closed. Golden hour, we rode NO rides as we went ride to ride to find them closed or shut down. Spoke to customer service and they were like yeah it's been a day, but there was nothing we could do because we were out of town and already had all our tickets. So they gave us "food credits" which didn't help as we were so frazzled that we left most of it at the restaurant. No refunds are issued on "used" tickets. I used it to meet their maintenance team. Oh and don't get me started on the app. It is the worst app with such unhelpful information like directions to nowhere and ride times that are not correct. Skip the time and money. Go somewhere else. Really anywhere else. Even staying at home may be a better option. read more

I don't even know where to start. This was, without a doubt, one of the most disappointing amusement park experiences I've ever had. First, the parking is a joke. You pay to park, only to have to walk what feels like a miles just to get into the park. Once inside, it was unbelievably overcrowded. There were people everywhere, and the entire park felt chaotic and disorganized. One thing that really bothered me was the security screening. My elderly grandmother and I had our bags searched, yet I watched several other guests with much larger, fuller bags walk right in without being checked. The experience left me feeling singled out, and I won't even get into some of the discriminatory treatment I felt I experienced throughout the day. On top of that, several employees we encountered were unhelpful and seemed like they didn't want to be there. The food was overpriced and honestly tasted terrible. As for Splash Country itself, there just wasn't much to do. The few attractions they had came with ridiculously long wait times. I'm talking about standing in line for hours for a single ride. My family and I ended up leaving within an hour because it simply wasn't worth wasting our entire day waiting in lines. I had such high expectations based on all the positive reviews I'd read, but I honestly don't understand them. Our experience was nothing like what was advertised. I would not recommend Splash Country to anyone. Save your money and spend your time somewhere else. If I could give this place zero stars, I absolutely would. read more

I was very surprised with how much I enjoyed my time at Dollywood. I am not much of an amusement park person, but my family wanted to spend a day here at the park. I am so glad I ended up going! We ended up paying for a day pass to park, and rode the trolley which takes you almost to the entrance. We got to the park right at opening so we could get in line for the rides that tend to have longer wait times, which was so worth it! It was a bit hot in the summer but they do a good job at having a lot of shaded areas and misters to help keep you cool. There are also shows you can see during the day or shopping to explore and the AC was so refreshing. I also loved going through the Dolly museum and learning more about her accomplishments through her career. Our favorite ride was the lightning rod, which is super fast! Beautiful day here at Dollywood. It was the spring and food festival and it was lovely. The park has great coasters and one of the best food I've had at an amusement park. They keep it very clean and pretty organized. We didn't upgrade for the quick pass to bypay long lines and that was a mistake. We only enjoyed a few rides, it was a Saturday and just too crowded. All the good rides were an hour long and too many screaming tweens in line ! Lol. If you're going to go, go later in the year when you can go on a Thursday. Although Dollywood provides ample handicapped parking, the do not provide any shuttle service to the gate. They provide it for regular parking though. Even though I was able to park in the handicapped/general parking, it was a good 15-20 walk to get to the gate and pick up the ECV I had rented. I am a huge theme park fanatic, and I have always wanted to visit Dollywood. My visit was amazing, and the park wasn't that busy. The wait times for rides were not too long, so we were able to go on a lot of the very popular rides. All the staff we talked to were so friendly, and the park was very clean. My favorite rides of the day were Lightning Rod, Wild Eagle, and Mystery Mine. All the food that we tried was delicious as well, and I am still dreaming of that cinnamon bread. What a wonderful experience we had! First stop was to get the cinnamon bread... Let me tell you we gobble that down and on the way out we purchase three more! After tearing the park and riding the rides, we were hungry again. We stopped at Lillian's for some fried chicken. The chicken was amazing, I wouldn't recommend the $18 baked potato. The pulled pork plate was really good as well. The coleslaw is quite different from what we used to, but it was really good. My biggest issue was we ordered so much food and there are no to go boxes. I hate to throw away food with so many hungry people in this world. I believe $18 for a baked potato. I'm sure they can afford a dollar container to put the leftovers in. Just my personal opinion I also had to ask three times for extra sour cream because the potato was so dry. So note to self if you're allowed to bring in small containers, there are multiple places to grab a bite to eat and graze your way through Dollywood. I suggest contacting them to see if you're able to bring in some collapsible to go containers. Although I thoroughly enjoyed Dollywood in my favorite part was going through her bus... the attendant was most knowledgeable and very pleasant. The other areas that show her outfits, etc., were just amazing. I can't say enough good things about Dolly. Of course anyone that goes there probably feels the same way. Fun for everyone at Dollywood! Rides: Rides range from low-thrill to high-thrill. There are inverted coasters, normal coasters, wooden coasters, swinging rides, spinning rides, water rides, drop towers, and bumper cars! There is a kiddie drop tower and a 230-foot-tall free fall drop tower. The ride speed range is slow as a turtle for little ones (they are a little bit faster than a turtle) and blazing fast rides for older people. If you like rides that go upside down, the ride Tennessee Tornado is perfect, it goes upside down 3 times! Food: Delicious food! While the majority of the food is unhealthy, it tastes awesome! It is also kind of expensive but is worth it. There are multiple restaurants in the park, most are themed. Some have pizza, some have burgers, and some have hot dogs. The food changes some through every season. There are sit-down restaurants and take-it-and-eat-it restaurants. You just have to find what you like. If you visit, you HAVE to try the Grist Mill Cinnamon Bread, they will tell you where to get it if you get normal parking and ride the tram to the park. Other Entertainment: Dollywood is not just a place for people to ride rides; they have shows almost all day. They also have a 20-minute oil-run train that has some history. The train is a WWII Military train that was switched to coal but was changed back to oil-run in the 2026 season. There is also three "museums" in the Dolly Parton Experience area of the park. There is also another attraction that is next to Dolly Parton Experience that is Dolly Parton's first customized tour bus. Overall Atmosphere: Awesome! There are 11 themed sections; Wildwood Grove, Timber Canyon, Wilderness Pass, Craftsman's Valley, Owen's Farm, Rivertown Junction, The Village, Country Fair, Jukebox Junction, and The Dolly Parton Experience, each with their own themed music, scenery, and restaurants. I absolutely LOVED Dollywood!! It's been a dream to visit this amusement park and I was not let down. Parking: There's no need to spend extra on parking, especially if you arrive early to park near the tram station, it's only $25. They had trams running constantly throughout the day and we never had to wait, it was hop on every time (except one time to take our dog out for a walk in between the day, it was less than a 5 minute wait). Park: The park itself is beautiful!! It's set in the mountains which makes for a natural and stunning backdrop throughout the park. Dollywood is hands down the most beautiful amusement park I've ever been to. Restrooms: The restrooms are a bit lackluster and are sometimes hard to find. Some stalls weren't flushed but they were all stocked with toilet paper, soap, and paper towels. Some of the stalls throughout the park are awkward and had tight fits. The restroom near the front entrance tucked next to the bakery and tables was the most awkward and cramped. Rides: In general, the rides are family friendly and unfortunately because of this, there were a few rides that I could not fit on (thick thighs save lives, ya know). I had to do the walk of shame on Dragonflier even though I tested the seat at the entrance and fit. Big Bear Mountain was a definite no-go, unfortunately. These were disappointments because I'm not a huge fan of rollercoasters so I was limited on options (my own problem both weight and ride preference, not Dollywood). However, River Rampage, Daredevil Falls, Firechaser Express, and Blazing Fury were all great. My husband rode Mystery Mine and had a blast! We also did little rides like Scrambler, Lemon Twist, bumper cars, and Dollywood Express. Our favorite was Firechaser Express, sitting in the back was the best! One thing I wasn't crazy about was the train. It's very dirty with all of the ash. We were eating lunch when it passed by and we had some ash on us just from being near it, imagine riding it! Food: We did the Harvest Festival Pass that allowed us to sample 10 different foods, dessert, or drinks (one pass allows for 5 choices). We definitely could have shared one pass considering we don't eat that much so we felt like we were force feeding ourselves. We were glad to have tried so much but next time, we will share just one pass. Thankfully, you can use this pass throughout the season so you aren't forced to use it in one day. I recommend only getting food and maybe a dessert. The drinks are not worth using the pass since they're so cheap. Do get the refillable soda cup! There are so many self-serve soda fountains and for $17.99, it can't be beat. They do have free water and ice for guests as well. I brought my reusable cup the next day and went to pay the $1.99 refill and they just pointed to the machine around the corner. Dollywood just wants people to stay hydrated so I guess they didn't really care. A lot of people without wristbands were getting refills all day. Shows: I watched Good Vibes while my husband left the park to take our dog out. They were talented but it's very rehearsed and they put on the same exact show time after time and yes, day after day. We semi-watched a bluegrass show as well which was okay. I do like that there are shows throughout the park to help ease the flow of crowds, however, the majority of people watching the shows are probably not able to go on the rides. We did visit Dolly's area and visited the two museums which were really nice. We did not see her shows, however. Staff: Every staff member we encountered were incredibly nice and everyone is very helpful. They showed true southern hospitality. We rode Daredevil Falls twice in a row without getting off because no one was in line, we literally had the entire ride to ourselves! We love when staff allow us to keep going. The cashier at Old Mill Grist was super nice and gave us extra icing for our cinnamon bread without us asking. We were made to feel as if we were family there. Shopping: Pricing overall is affordable considering it's an amusement park. When you could be spending over $20 on a hamburger at another park, you're spending way less here. I bought a nice Dollywood sweatshirt and it was $52.99. A magnet was $6.99, a sticker was $2.49. They even had Funko Pops of Dolly that were on sale for $9.99! I didn't feel like they were nickel and diming at all! There are a ton of shops with handmade crafts that you can watch the craftsman working on. It's so much fun to look around and find original, handmade things, not just theme park brand merchandise. Overall, this park is beautiful! It's perfect for every age and you can truly bring the entire family here. I was surprised by how many seniors I saw but they were enjoying the stunning scenery just as much as we were. I loved Dollywood! Pro tip: go during the week! We went on a Friday in September and it was perfect crowd wise. read more

The bathroom situation though....no TP, no hand soap, messy and out of order. Hey, had to go when we out in Tennessee. My wife and I enjoyed it although we couldn't imagine being there in the heat of summer. We went in April and it got hot! The best part of the park was the 50-minute tribute musical to the life of Dolly Parton. She really is a kind, compassionate human being. Came from humble beginnings and remembers all the good people she grew up with. The tribute is worth going to. Food was decent. Our friends got the wedge salad at the "Front Porch" and it rivaled any good wedge you can get in California. We got the Crispy Chicken Sandwich, and it was good. The train ride was fun and cooled us down a bit. That train has a steam horn that will knock your socks off! We are not big roller coaster folks so that part wasn't interesting to us. Our friends enjoyed the rides although they had to stand in line for about an hour for the Tennessee Tornado. The bathrooms need remodeling, and the park is not kept as clean as Disneyland is.
