We had a ton of fun and the park was so beautifully decorated for Christmas. It was busy and had long lines but I am used to Disneyland so this was nothing. The bathroom situation though....no TP, no hand soap, messy and out of order. The fountain drink machines were overloaded with ice and it was on the floor creating a slip hazard at basically every location. Employees were not helpful or straight up rude. read more

I absolutely LOVED Dollywood!! It's been a dream to visit this amusement park and I was not let down. Parking: There's no need to spend extra on parking, especially if you arrive early to park near the tram station, it's only $25. They had trams running constantly throughout the day and we never had to wait, it was hop on every time (except one time to take our dog out for a walk in between the day, it was less than a 5 minute wait). Park: The park itself is beautiful!! It's set in the mountains which makes for a natural and stunning backdrop throughout the park. Dollywood is hands down the most beautiful amusement park I've ever been to. Restrooms: The restrooms are a bit lackluster and are sometimes hard to find. Some stalls weren't flushed but they were all stocked with toilet paper, soap, and paper towels. Some of the stalls throughout the park are awkward and had tight fits. The restroom near the front entrance tucked next to the bakery and tables was the most awkward and cramped. Rides: In general, the rides are family friendly and unfortunately because of this, there were a few rides that I could not fit on (thick thighs save lives, ya know). I had to do the walk of shame on Dragonflier even though I tested the seat at the entrance and fit. Big Bear Mountain was a definite no-go, unfortunately. These were disappointments because I'm not a huge fan of rollercoasters so I was limited on options (my own problem both weight and ride preference, not Dollywood). However, River Rampage, Daredevil Falls, Firechaser Express, and Blazing Fury were all great. My husband rode Mystery Mine and had a blast! We also did little rides like Scrambler, Lemon Twist, bumper cars, and Dollywood Express. Our favorite was Firechaser Express, sitting in the back was the best! One thing I wasn't crazy about was the train. It's very dirty with all of the ash. We were eating lunch when it passed by and we had some ash on us just from being near it, imagine riding it! Food: We did the Harvest Festival Pass that allowed us to sample 10 different foods, dessert, or drinks (one pass allows for 5 choices). We definitely could have shared one pass considering we don't eat that much so we felt like we were force feeding ourselves. We were glad to have tried so much but next time, we will share just one pass. Thankfully, you can use this pass throughout the season so you aren't forced to use it in one day. I recommend only getting food and maybe a dessert. The drinks are not worth using the pass since they're so cheap. Do get the refillable soda cup! There are so many self-serve soda fountains and for $17.99, it can't be beat. They do have free water and ice for guests as well. I brought my reusable cup the next day and went to pay the $1.99 refill and they just pointed to the machine around the corner. Dollywood just wants people to stay hydrated so I guess they didn't really care. A lot of people without wristbands were getting refills all day. Shows: I watched Good Vibes while my husband left the park to take our dog out. They were talented but it's very rehearsed and they put on the same exact show time after time and yes, day after day. We semi-watched a bluegrass show as well which was okay. I do like that there are shows throughout the park to help ease the flow of crowds, however, the majority of people watching the shows are probably not able to go on the rides. We did visit Dolly's area and visited the two museums which were really nice. We did not see her shows, however. Staff: Every staff member we encountered were incredibly nice and everyone is very helpful. They showed true southern hospitality. We rode Daredevil Falls twice in a row without getting off because no one was in line, we literally had the entire ride to ourselves! We love when staff allow us to keep going. The cashier at Old Mill Grist was super nice and gave us extra icing for our cinnamon bread without us asking. We were made to feel as if we were family there. Shopping: Pricing overall is affordable considering it's an amusement park. When you could be spending over $20 on a hamburger at another park, you're spending way less here. I bought a nice Dollywood sweatshirt and it was $52.99. A magnet was $6.99, a sticker was $2.49. They even had Funko Pops of Dolly that were on sale for $9.99! I didn't feel like they were nickel and diming at all! There are a ton of shops with handmade crafts that you can watch the craftsman working on. It's so much fun to look around and find original, handmade things, not just theme park brand merchandise. Overall, this park is beautiful! It's perfect for every age and you can truly bring the entire family here. I was surprised by how many seniors I saw but they were enjoying the stunning scenery just as much as we were. I loved Dollywood! Pro tip: go during the week! We went on a Friday in September and it was perfect crowd wise. read more

Hey, had to go when we out in Tennessee. My wife and I enjoyed it although we couldn't imagine being there in the heat of summer. We went in April and it got hot! The best part of the park was the 50-minute tribute musical to the life of Dolly Parton. She really is a kind, compassionate human being. Came from humble beginnings and remembers all the good people she grew up with. The tribute is worth going to. Food was decent. Our friends got the wedge salad at the "Front Porch" and it rivaled any good wedge you can get in California. We got the Crispy Chicken Sandwich, and it was good. The train ride was fun and cooled us down a bit. That train has a steam horn that will knock your socks off! We are not big roller coaster folks so that part wasn't interesting to us. Our friends enjoyed the rides although they had to stand in line for about an hour for the Tennessee Tornado. The bathrooms need remodeling, and the park is not kept as clean as Disneyland is. My only complaint is: The prices they charge for a bottle of water that costs 15 cents, and you charge 4.99" Really " And the food come on/ The place that's called Aunt something is 28 dollars a person, for a family of 5 that's over $150.00. We traveled from TX, FL, NC, and PA on a family trip to the Smokey Mountains and Dollywood was the one place everyone wanted to visit. There were 11 of us from age 7 to 78 and everyone of us had a wonderful time. The park is beautiful, clean and wonderfully laid out. We did not catch a show but rode all the coaster all day. It's was super hot but the complimentary water was helpful and there was plenty of shade and misters. We will definitely return! read more

Weather issues on December 30 2025. Park did not want to refund our money and none of the coasters were open. Lost my hard earned money and no one cared to make it right. Very unfortunate as this was not our first time there and we had family visiting from out of town. They could have warned everyone before arriving to the park not to come or if the weather is forecasted and the park is at risk please Notify the customers. But they had the park open with limited rides open for the same price and no refunds allowed even though the policy says a refund is granted for weather. read more

It was a lot of walking, a lot of lines, and it was very expensive. It cost more than a hundred dollars per person. You weren't allowed to bring sandwiches in for your family, and the wait for food at the concessions took well over an hour. It's considered a family park, but there's nothing for little children except dippin dots ice cream and impulse buys of plush toys at the shops. Unless you are a fan of rollercoasters, I do not recommend this park. It has completely lost its charm. Much of it was closed. read more

Great time. STAFF was so great. Neveah staff WON the best staff member of the year. My son was sad the games closed early and at the end of the night he just wanted a cinnamon bread stuffy. we went to get the best cinnamon bread in the world before we left and told her about the sadness and she gave us complimentary tickets to come back the next day to win a stuffy. WOW, what a nice thing to do and way over what is expected from any staff. SHE WAS amazing. We truly enjoyed the park, the rides, and the shows. read more

Paid 450 dollars for tickets and time savers only for not one but TWO attractions to break down. We were stuck on the Firechaser Express for close to 30 minutes. My girlfriend didn't want to ride anything else, but because I convinced her to stay in the park and we did they said no refunds. She was physical and emotionally troubled by the experience and we had to leave early but apparently not early enough for a refund. I liked Dollywood as a kid, I will never go back again. The cinnamon bread was amazing, as everyone says. My partner and I got it, thinking it was way too big and then proceeded to devour the entire thing. We dont care much for rides, but there are plenty of shows, shopping, and scenery to keep entertained with. We only did one day and even with doing no rides, we wish we had stayed at least another day. I highly recommend doing the train as well if you get the chance, it was only 20 minutes and it can be quite loud, but the veiw was very nice. read more

**April 2025: Friday Visit** My friend and I have had Dollywood on our bucket lists for quite some time and finally got a chance to include it in our travels. I booked our trip for Good Friday since it was the first day of the Flower and Food Festival. However, I didn't realize that in the South Good Friday is a holiday and the park was packed. It's definitely a family park with a lots of kids. Thankfully, my friend and I stayed at the Dollywood Resort and we were given a complimentary Time Saver Pass (which grants you a unlimited fast past for the first hour of the park day and up to to 5 attractions after 11am) so we were able to get on rides with relatively short wait times. I think we waited the longest for Wild Eagle (30mins). Below are my favorite thrill rides! **Rollercoasters -Lightning Rod - Hands down the BEST roller coaster. It's located alongside a hilly section of Pigeon Forge and it ascends and drops at unexpected moments. It's fast and my stomach dropped a couple of times. -Wild Eagle - I really felt like I was an eagle soaring through the park. -Thunderhead - classic wooden roller coaster that kind of reminds me of ghostrider at Knotts Berry Farm in Buena Park, CA. **Food On my visit they had a food festival going on and patrons could purchase a lanyard ($42.99) and pick up seasonal sweets and savory dishes. The Smokey Mountain Grilled Corn (10.99) and Chiptole Honey BBQ ribs ($13.99) from Miss Lillian's BBQ corner were my favorite. I also tried the Honey Garlic Chicken Skillet ($14.99) and Vegetable Cobb Salad ($10.99), which were fine, but the portions were smaller than I expected (but almost twice the size of Disney California Adventure food. Cinnamon Bread (not participating with the food festival): Dollywood is known for this item but unfortunately it was just soso. For $15 a loaf I expected more. It tasted like the cinnabons that you get from the malls. **Other Experiences Guests with the Time Saver pass can use one of their time saver slots of a show. We used it for "From The Heart - The Life and Music of Dolly Parton" which chronicles her story with a live orchestra and singing. The show is 50 minutes long and definitely a must see when you're at Dollywood. Behind the Seams: See Dolly's costumes and wigs. I'm a theater kid and cosplayer so I love seeing this stuff. Dollywood Express: I didn't get a chance to ride this but one other park guest said that because it uses coal that you can get dirty from the sut. Next time I hope to ride it Summary Dollywood has a lot of elements that remind me of Knotts Berry Farm, but it is a hilly experience. My friend and I started the day at 10am and stayed until 8pm. My body was so sore the next day since there were so many inclines and it was 80 degrees so I was probably dehydrated too. The hours are shorter (10am-8pm), but with all the uphill walking I'm not sure that I would have lasted longer lol Overall, I had a great time and would love to come back, hopefully when it's not soo hot. read more

We visited the park the other day. This being our first time we didn't know what to expect since we had only been to Disney world before. The park has more of a family type feel where Disney is more of a corporate feel. We both loved it! Great layout, fun rides even if you don't like roller coasters. Kids carnival games, won some prizes. We both loved the train ride around the park the best. It is a real 1930's steam engine and it is so cool it is still going many years later. We are not huge roller coaster people but we were able to ride the following, bumper cars, carousel, train, mini cars, games, etc. They also have Dolly museums showing her younger years as a kid in Tennessee and all the way to current day. Loved the drone show with fireworks at the end of the night. Park is super clean. A real gem of Tennessee. Happy 40th anniversary Dollywood. Tips: We opted for the summer food pass that was about $40 bucks each and you get 5 items of your choosing around the park to eat or drink. It's worth it. Parking is $25 for a 2 person car. Stay for the fireworks and drone show it was worth it. Souvenirs are pretty reasonable compared to other parks that over charge for everything. Wear a good pair of shoes you will be walking alot. You will get wet on the water tubing ride, so be prepared. Backpacks are allowed but can't be super huge ones regular size. Helped carrying our carnival winnings. read more

Ambiance: Southern/Mountain -inspired amusement park in Pigeon Forge with an extensive amount of activities for all ages. Most of the ride attractions are rollercoasters - we loved the Fire Station ride! Not a ton of smaller thrill rides. Handful of kids rides in a child-friendly area of the park. Very clean, parking is easy with transit buses. We tried the cinnamon bread (7/10!). Friendly staff. Lots of cool shops with merch, art, & items that are not just related to the Dollywood theme. Decent ride wait times - I think the longest we waited was around an hour for one of the big coasters. We enjoyed the bird show and all of the shows/music options. There is also a Doggywood kennel where you can board your pets for the day. A bit pricey for being a smaller theme park but overall I would give Dollywood 8/10 stars! Great for families, couples, friends of all ages. Just enough to do to spend an entire day but not feel overwhelmed. Multiple food stalls & places to eat (The sit down restaurants do have large wait times!). There is an arcade area and a few attractions that revolve around Dolly Parton. I have been coming to Dollywood since I was a kid. It was always about the rides then, every kid wants to find the most exciting one and go over and over until they close up for the day. Went back with my friends and the Godson Caleb. He is autistic and Dollywood really goes above and beyond for accommodations. We strolled in at 11:30 and started to take in the fun. We made our way to the old downtown Sevierville model that represented the spots from Folly's youth. Since I worked in downtown Sevierville as manager for 7 years in an upscale restaurant this was fun to see the places that were there are slowly coming back with all the new modern touches. We started with the a coffee and headed off to get on the lightning rod; the fastest wooden roller coaster in the world. I would describe it as a ride in a fighter jet. It was up down upside down (I think), by the end I just screamed a lot. Thankful we did not go see my picture they offer at the end, it would e been fodder for my people. We toured the Dolly museum that walks you through her life, where she got her start and all the outfits she wore on stage for all the years, a large VR experience in one room showed Dolly performing as if you were in the audience. Definitely check it out. We stopped for a bluegrass show from the Mountain Highway Band. They were a great ensemble and interacted with the crowd and brought it to life. Had a pork belly and roasted potato appetizer and it was amazing. Then off to get Caleb on the carousel, he had been before and got really excited when he saw the horses bobbing up and down. It was fun and although still dizzy from the coaster, I made it just fine. Next we were off to relax in the autism accessibility center. It was a quiet place with comfortable seats, games to play and bubble wall for soothing sounds and plenty of stuffed animals for him to toss around. He galavanted around and loved every minute of the interactive wall with every sensory gadget imaginable. As an adult, I must admit I enjoyed it too ha! We headed off to wildwood grove, a sprawling kids area that is more suited for summer and cooling off in the water playground we'll call it. We went to the Parton family Christmas show. It was cool to see bc the last time I saw it, I was a young Junior in High School dating Dollys 2nd cousin. Little did I know, we went into the dressing room to meet Dolly. She really is as nice as everyone says. So happy and full of joy and just a beautiful person. I just couldn't believe how tall I was or how short she was. The show was great and had a Christian Christmas theme which is so refreshing in a time where the world has gone backwards. We headed out and went on a food rampage from Buffalo chicken topped gig back potato to the famous cinnamon bread, to Jambalaya. All were great options! They had a coffee shop and we had one get a Cappuccino cupcake. I wanted ice cream, but really would do better in the summer months. We winded up to check out the big bear rollercoaster too and the lines were shorter for it. It was a perfect day and it was like living a hallmark movie. Definitely don't miss Christmas at Dollywood and they always shoot off fireworks every night at dark! read more

This trip, though, the bathrooms were pretty nasty, and it was not just one location. Every restroom we used was in rough shape. Visited Dollywood again last year and still love it. That being said I do recommend visiting on a warmer day. We wanted to check out the winter decorations and visited in Nov 2024. Although it is clearly stated on the website, we did not realize how many rides would be closed or delayed from cold temperatures. Definitely understandable, it just did not cross our minds prior to visiting. Due to the high number of visitors and numerous closed rides, the wait times at the few open rides were very long. We ended up only going on a couple of rides and spent the rest of the time viewing the beautiful decorations and eating the delicious food. Similar to our first visit, the employees are all incredibly friendly, patient, and helpful. Highly recommend this amusement park, but pay attention to the weather and check the website for updates so that you know what to expect during your visit. read more

My family of three purchased tickets online and received the two days for the price of one deal. Parking is $25 and they accept credit cards. Tram ride to front of park was efficiently run and staff was friendly. They even have husband-wife teams running the trams as driver and guide. I loved all the pumpkin decorations for Harvest Festival. We rode about 8 rollercoasters the first day we were here and rode about 6 more in the evening. The second day was busier so we only got in two rollercoasters and two water rides before taking a break. We managed four coaster rides in the evening and barnstormer. Unfortunately lightning rod rollercoaster broke down after we had been in line for 30 minutes. And once it did get back running, worker Mark did not accept requests for the back row from my son, despite him asking two separate times when we rode the ride finishing the night the last two times in a row. Other than one unhelpful employee Mark in Lightning Rod, every one else was stellar. read more

The best theme park in America. This is an exceptional theme park. It is incredibly family friendly, allergy friendly and wonderful. Most places have an allergen menu, and peanut signage at the door. Food is incredible, flavorful. The people are friendly everywhere. There was zero lines for any rollercoasters and an assortment of rides for my one year old to enjoy and some for us to do as a family. For nursing moms there's a mothers room, comfortable and clean with attached bathrooms. I cannot recommend Dollywood enough and I look forward to coming back. Only down side was there were plenty of bees to avoid. read more

It was my perfect birthday surprise. We caught the tram from the parking lot C and it drops you off closer to the entrance. We had online tickets and it was a quick scan. We were immersed in the world of Dolly Parton and her family. The park smelled wonderful between the greenery and cinnamon bread. We took a picture as soon as we arrived and then downloaded the Dollywood app. The app is fabulous and provides live directions as we explored the park. I was sad I missed the summer drone show but I was impressed by all the pumpkin arts and crafts in addition to the oversized pumpkins. We enjoyed exploring her museum and learning about her humble beginnings. The park overall was super clean including the restroom despite the number of people. Dollywood has been on my bucket list for a long time as a Dolly fan and I was not disappointed! I loved the exhibits, especially "Behind the Seams" where you get to see all her fabulous outfits, shoes and wigs. The famous cinnamon bread was so good! I liked that they offer it somewhere else in the park as a mini loaf, so you can enjoy it while at the park. One mini-loaf was enough for my husband and I to share. You can get the regular loaf to bring home at other places in the park. We also visited the eagle sanctuary, which I was surprised to find at the park and took the train. The train ride was nicer than I thought and the scenery that we saw as it took us around the park was beautiful. The park also has an ice-cream shop and we both loved our ice-creams, with my husband choosing the peach one that looked like it had real peach slices in it. I also tried the famous potatoe tornado, not something I would find anywhere else and it tasted like a cross between potato chips and fries and made me happy. We appreciated the tram that took us to and from the park, very easy to find. The parking lot was easy to get around to as well, surprisingly. There are numerous shops as well throughout the park, some of which can be pricy, but it's to be expected at a theme park like this. The signs and landscape througout the park were beautiful, as was the retro designed exteriors of areas of the park. While we didn't go on any rides, we still had a great time and we felt that a two day pass was just enough to get around and see everything we wanted without spreading ourselves too thin. Good Golly, Miss Dolly! The problem with Pigeon Forge/Gatlinburg is, is that there are so many things to do in so little time. It took me until after quite a few visits to finally commit a day to the infamous Dollywood. I'm a big theme park lover, and add country music, southern cookin' and Dolly Parton... I'm sold before I even walk through the door. If you're a big fan of roller coasters, boy are you gonna love this place. Just about any type of coaster, new or old, is at this park. Since we only had a day here, we splurged a bit on the timesaver passes (line-cutters for rides,) and it was worth it for visiting on Labor Day weekend. It was also surprisingly cheaper than what other big parks charge. Dollywood really has something for everyone, whether you are a thrill-seeker or just want to stroll around and eat some good food. read more

My husband surprised me with a "Dollywood VIP Tour" gift and my "Dolly Parton Experience" was as big as one of Dolly's wigs! When we arrived at Dollywood, we were greeted by Camryn, our sweet and very knowledgeable guide. At my request, she walked us around the entire park! She then knew that my happy place would be inside the Dolly Parton Museum (the "crown jewel and anchor" of our experience). A HUGE butterfly greeted us at the museum, and inside, we followed Dolly"s own story of her life. She described her childhood in the Smoky Mountains and ended with her life achievements. I loved my "Wardrobe Experience", seeing fifty years worth of Dolly's signature gowns, costumes, wigs and accessories. Camryn made sure that we saw the highlights. Here is where I got to see Dolly"s coat of many colors and many real items from her childhood home. There were so many costumes from Dolly's career. Ones from "The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas" and "9 to 5" were so fun to see. Dolly"s wigs, little high heels and jewelry were wonderful too. After the museum, at Camryn's suggestion, I rode on the Big Bear Mountain roller coaster, the longest ride in Dollywood history. Its sharp twists and turns definitely gave me "tummy feeling of zeros Gs"! We then visited the many shops where I found a Dollywood memento. This was a day that I will always remember. Disabled Heaven Amusement parks can be tough when you or a loved one has disabilities--but Dollywood is a true haven. It's the most disability-friendly theme park I've ever visited, for both kids and adults. Most parks have special passes or accommodations, but Dollywood goes far beyond that. Accessibility is built into the design of the entire park. It's family-friendly in every sense of the word and truly redefines what "accessible" means. How many theme parks invite you to picnic on big grassy areas inside a big red barn? Or provide spacious changing areas in the bathrooms? Dollywood does. Even the food options show care and thoughtfulness. For those who can't enjoy traditional theme park junk food, there are soft and puréed snacks, plus great coverage for common dietary needs and restrictions. There's something genuinely special about this park nestled in the Great Smoky Mountains. Whatever your circumstances, I hope you're brave enough to give it a try. Dollywood During Halloween - Rainy but Still a Blast! We went to Dollywood during their Halloween season and it was so festive! The carved pumpkins and fall decorations were everywhere--seriously impressive. Walking through the glowing displays as the sun went down felt like stepping into a Halloween wonderland. Now for the honest part--it rained. A lot. And unfortunately, the park doesn't seem to drain well. We ended up wading through water inside some of the gift shops and even walked through ankle-deep water in parts of the park. Waterproof shoes would've been a game-changer! Even with the wet feet, we still had a really fun day. The decorations alone are worth the trip, and the vibe is pure fall magic. We love Dollywood!!! Here's some tips. Don't pay for the premium parking. If you go to the F lot on the hill you're right by it. Also, if you get there early you are able to park pretty close to the park as well. It gets hot. Bring a small fan, sunscreen, sunglasses and a hat. You are also able to bring snacks. If you're trying to save money, definitely bring a cooler. The food isn't bad and I love going during food festivals. There is also a family decompression area at the front entrance of the park that I recommend if your kiddo gets overstimulated. Auntie Grannies is delicious and all you can eat. If you eat light for breakfast and go there for lunch you are going to be set for some time. read more
