This was more fun than I thought. I am not a roller coaster person. So I was nervous. The staff is friendly and helpful. Once aboard the 'sleigh' you put the belt on and just wait your turn. The wait once in the sleigh isn't too bad. The gear is for acceleration and braking. Which in my opinion I didn't need the brake. So the ride was good. We went at dusk and it was nice. How fun! We purchased Smoky Mountain Park Hopper passes, which came with 2 rides at this park. On a Tuesday evening, it took about 40 minutes to get through the line. The coaster route has areas along the way where the ride takes over for you. It'll prompt you when it's your turn to take over again. The first time it stops on its own can be confusing. The ride is exactly 10 minutes start to finish. They light the path at night, so don't worry about being there late. There were plenty of children in line for the ride. Fun, safe for all of the family and its well organized! It was my first time riding something like this. We seen it advertised everywhere. I came with my boyfriends family, his siblings and their kids. When we parked there was a bit of a line. However, the line moved fairly quick. You buy your ticket, stand in line... and the ushers secure you onto one of the coasters. It's great for all ages! If your kid is small, you can ride with your kid. The views were nice and some parts went really fast! I'd definitely go again! The total ride down the mountain is pretty lengthy. I should've wrote my review earlier because the guy told me how long it takes to ride down the mountain.... approximately 10 minutes? Correct me if I'm wrong. But it's a nice ride down. Don't forget to smile when the signs say to smile because they take photos of you along the ride. At the end of the ride, you enter the gift shop where you can see all your photos. The photos were the normal expensive tourist price, but it's worth capturing the moment :) Definitely a "must-do" when visiting Pigeon Forge! read more

Such a cool and unique experience in Gatlinburg! I feel like everyone should try it at least once while they're there. I wish I could give this place 10 stars. The first night we went it rained and we got this cool see through cover and then there was lightning so the 4 remaining riders in our party couldn't go. The manager gave us all more tickets to come back another day and when we returned two days later, they gave us each and extra ride and because it was father's day the two dad's in our party got free photos. When I told people we were going on vacation to Pigeon Forge SO many people suggested that we do a mountain coaster, and boy am I glad that we picked this one!! It is advertised as the longest mountain coaster in TN and that is one of the reasons we picked it. It is also located right down the street from Dollywood, which is super convenient. The views were amazing and the track was so much fun. It included 4 uphills and 4 downhills and you really pick up some great speed on the downhills! They have audio playing at the top of the hills that tells you when to push your handles down to begin to pick up speed. We had such a fun time on our ride that we paid $9 each to go on the coaster a second time. Each sled has a maximum weight of 350 pounds, but we elected to each have our own sled and I really am glad we did. This was one of our favorite things that we did on our vacation!! It will be a must do when we come back to Pigeon Forge. read more

This was my family's favorite activity in Pigeon Forge. It operates even during the dead of winter, so if you're visiting when it's cold outside like we were, be sure to bring your gloves and beanies. The wind is biting when you're on a coaster on a hill. This coaster is user-powered for the most part, so you get to decide how fast you go. My oldest child was zipping around pretty quickly, but my youngest went slower. I'm not a coaster person, so I stood on the side and took photos and videos. There are a few places to spectate where you can get some good shots. From start to finish, the whole thing takes about 20 minutes. The actual coaster ride is no longer than 10 minutes -- quicker if you go faster. But the cost is totally worth those quick several minutes. My kids were smiling and wanting to go on it again. read more

Had a good time here! The wait was long but that was to be expected on the 4th of July. Everyone was accommodating and helped to move the crowd as quickly as possible. They have the line under a cover so you don't roast and music playing to help pass the time. I wish it was a little bit longer of a ride but that's just me being greedy lol. This was pretty decent. I would give it 3.5 stars, rounding up to 4. We came here wanting to ride an Alpine coaster after being sorely disappointed at Oberlin Gatlinburg. We had wasted so much time at Oberlin that it got pretty late at that point, so we were grateful for the late closing time. I think the move is coming at night, it's fun the way it's lit up. It was Labor Day Weekend though and it was CROWDED with a super, super long line. Thank goodness for the ceiling fans in the waiting area, but they could use some more. Also thank goodness for the very fun and lively playlist going on, keeping everyone's morale up. Also shoutout to the safety videos playing, there was a lot of legitimately useful and helpful information conveyed there. When it was finally our turn, we got in our carts of either one or two riders. I ended up using the brakes in my cart quite a bit. The safety video said you could pretty much go as fast as you want (so long as you don't bump into the person in front of you), but I very much did not feel safe and like the cart was going to stay on the rails at full speed. I left a little shaken up after the ride. Overall, good experience. Would likely come back, hopefully with a shorter line. read more

I have to admit that I wasn't sure what to expect when we booked the Rocket Mountain Coaster, but I did know it was the 9 minute long ride. I don't think our ride lasted that long as I had the speed control forward just about the entire time. I was glad my astoundingly beautiful lady and I was able to ride the sled in tandem, so we can enjoy it together. We did arrive a bit early from Gatlinburg, so we waited about 30 minutes for it to get darker so we can enjoy the lit up track and we are so glad we did. We were delighted to find the sled does move significantly faster than we thought it would, and was quite entertaining when you build up full momentum. I wouldn't have mind going for a second round but the line did start building up at that point. We highly recommend this one! read more

Came first thing in the morning and only had a few people ahead of us waiting for cars. The staff was friendly and quick getting us our tickets. They offer a first responders discount which was very appreciated on my end. The ride itself was fun,., although I feel like every time I started getting my adrenaline up, I would hit one of the stopping points (waiting a good minute or so before I had some downhill movement again). Fun Coaster For Kids! This is one of the coasters that let our 36" tall kids ride. It's a great time for the little ones. We rode 3-4 times because my 3 year old son was a little scared the first ride but then was so happy and wanted to do it again and again! Wow, wow, wow, Is all I can say for this fun filled attraction located near Dollywood theme park. Coupons are available for $3.00 off per person for your entire group. You can find them in any souvenir book you happen to pick up along the way. My daughter and I came here early evening when it wasn't too crowded. They honored my coupons and we went to ride. She suggested we ride together. She would control the braking mechanism and I could sit up front. Similar to wild mouse bobsleds we were given final instructions and ready for launch. Cute signs and music were along the pull up chains featuring black eur o peeing bears and Burma shave. Yes They even have a bear on top of a small waterfall. At the top signs give you the instructions to let go of the brake and enjoy the ride. This thing is almost like a regular coaster with twists and turns all over the place!! There are 4 mind you 4 lift chains at different parts of the ride and oh yes they do have a sign indicating at what certain point they will take your picture. The two of us had the time of our lives on this-whole ride lasted about 10 minutes. Only instructions are not to "hit" the car in front of you. That's really not a problem until you pull back into the station. The ride empties out into a gift shop where you can purchase your picture from the ride along with hillbilly redneck gifts, Tees, black bear and raccoon souvenirs. Pretty much the usual fare. Repeat rides are $9.00 per person considering the first ride was $15.00 per person with the discount. Staff here is very friendly and helpful. Only thing to be careful is that when you are leaving the premises there is no traffic light and you must cross 3 lanes of traffic if you wish to head back to Dollywood. Fun, fun,fun!!!! We had so much fun here we revisited this place twice in the same day. We experienced the coaster during the day and night. You are able to control your coaster speed and fill the wind in your hair. At night the coaster comes alive with lights. I'm sad that we weren't able to enjoy the video recording of your ride due to the weather but, hopefully in our next visit we will get the video recordings. Husband and I rode on three different mountain coasters while in the Gatlinburg/Pigeon Forge area and this one was by far our favorite. This mountain coaster boasts itself as the longest mountain coaster in East Tennessee, "over nine minutes" and it sure felt like it. There are many ups and downs on this coaster, where the other coaster we went on was one uphill climb followed by one looping downward ride. The ride felt quite fast, and I yelped quite a few times. There are two places where your photo is taken, and then they try to sell it to you for around $15 if I remember correctly. We meant to go back at night to see it all lit up, but we forgot to. If we're ever in the area again, we will definitely ride this coaster again. read more

My only disappointment was that they charge you extra if you are not using cash, which always feels like nickle and diming. Coaster was great, staff friendly and fun. Went for a night ride unsure of what would be seen but you're able to see quite a bit and they do a great job with lighting. The humor throughout was a nice added touch! The experience was comfortable and they use various break points which helps ensure that you don't have to worry about people stopping or going to slow as it helps make sure you're spaced far enough out from cart ahead of you. If you're expecting to have stellar mountain views or soar over empty heights you won't really find that here but the experience will still be an enjoyable one even if it is more entertainment than natural!
