The overlook is beautiful, and there are lots of things for kids to do. There's also plenty of fall decor and lights throughout the area, so it's worth going up during both the day and at night to see the different atmosphere. A few things could be improved, though. If you plan to go back up the mountain, make sure you save your ticket or have the barcode accessible. There should be a separate re-entry line where they can scan the barcode on your wristband. It also would have been helpful if they had mentioned getting a beer badge at the bottom, since the place at the top of the mountain doesn't open until 11 a.m. and we ended up wasting about an hour. A scooter does fit on the gondola, which was convenient. They also take the obligatory entrance photos and offer several different backgrounds. The photo packages are a little pricey at $35 for digital or $20 for one printed photo. The Tap House could also use both registers during busy times, as the line was quite long. The Smoky Mountain Paloma was very good, though. The $4 price for a small bag of chips felt a little steep. Overall, we enjoyed the views and the experience. There's plenty to see and do, and the fall decorations and nighttime lights make it worth experiencing at different times of the day. read more

Oktoberfest Proust! So fun! We purchased a pass for $22.99 to enjoy a variety of beers around the park. ( This was in addition to the entrance fee .) Each beer and cider was a 8 oz pour. The weather was gorgeous & we started our day taking the gondola up the mountain. If you're afraid of heights don't fret you can take a ride up the mountain in a truck. We spent the entire afternoon there enjoying the entertainment, taking in the beautiful scenery, drinking beer & cider,eating pretzels & exploring Anakeesta. We climbed all the way to the top of the Anna Vista Tower for a beautiful view of the valley below. Walked through the Vista Gardens & shopped the Firefly Village. There's a lot for children to do as well. This is all around family fun. read more

It was hotter than hell the day we came! It was humid, and we were soggy, sweaty, and overstimulated, and still managed to have a good time! This whole area is expensive, but I think it's a once in a lifetime opportunity to take in some beautiful sites, get a little of that Smoky Mountain culture, and the people watching goes outstanding We waited in line for what seemed like an eternity for the mountain coaster, Stoll worth it! Right when you get off the left, there's a barbecue joint on the right we have some excellent ribs and brisket. We did the tree top walk and visited some of the cute little shops. Pro tip when you buy your ticket it is good for the whole day. Go first thing in the morning, go back to your hotel and swim during the heat of the day and then go back in the evening. read more

Anakeesta was one of the highlights of our trip. We went in the evening, and it was the perfect time to visit. The chairlift wasn't hot like some reviews mentioned it has plenty of fresh air, moves quickly, and we never waited long. The 360° observation tower offers breathtaking views and is a must-do. I skipped the Firefly experience because the line barely moved near closing, and after hearing it took about 35 min wait , I don't feel like we missed much as my son said he didn't see any fireflies This place is magical for little ones. Our toddler had an absolute blast exploring and playing. For older kids, there aren't as many attractions, but the views alone make it worth a visit. Pro tip: Buy the Dollywood + Anakeesta combo through Tripster. We paid about $20 per ticket instead of around $40, plus $20 parking. Beautiful views, friendly staff, and a relaxing atmospherewe'd definitely come back. read more

Sometimes you do something you know better than to do anyway. Anakeesta sits high above Gatlinburg, perched on a mountain with views that'll make you forget your blood pressure for a few minutes. The scenery is spectacular. The light show? Flat-out phenomenal. If this review were based on the views alone, we'd already be talking five stars. Then we tried to eat. Happy hour started at Cliff Top with two Palomas and an order of fried green tomatoes. Twenty minutes later, the food runner proudly delivered...fried pickles. Wrong order. Back they went. A kitchen employee returned to tell the bartender they were out of green tomatoes and assured us the pickles were good. I'm sure they were, but I didn't order them. We settled on the pimento cheese spread instead. To their credit, they added extra vegetables and toast without any fuss. It wasn't great, but it was a fair recovery. A couple of hours later, hunger got the better of us, so we wandered over to the BBQ joint. They had Duke's, so hope sprang eternal. I ordered pulled pork. Out. Switched to brisket. Also out. That left the ribs, which tasted like they'd been rushed through the smoker and reheated before landing on the plate. The baked beans, however, deserved a standing ovation. They were the undisputed MVP of the meal. The biggest head-scratcher? Waiting nearly twenty minutes for two draft lagers from the bar. Son, in the South, making a man wait that long for a cold beer borders on a misdemeanor. As we were leaving, the bride ducked into the restroom and discovered that five of the six stalls were out of toilet paper. Come on, folks. After dropping nearly two hundred dollars, I shouldn't have to wonder if I needed to pack my own roll like it was the height of the COVID shortage. Here's the thing: Anakeesta is absolutely worth visiting. The mountaintop views, attractions, and nighttime light show are first class. But the food and beverage operation feels like it's trying to keep up with the crowds instead of getting ahead of them. A little more attention to inventory, service, and the basics would go a long way. Go for the mountain. Stay for the lights. We paid to come up and then after $150 for our family realized that the sky walk was closed. Many bridges and things were also closed. I was disappointed we weren't informed of this before purchasing. Our dinner at Clifftop restaurant was sub-par. I'm leaving this review at 4 stars since I know many people rave about the sky walk (we weren't able to see this so I'm unsure) and the kids play area was super fun. My kids could have played for hours. It's multiple levels and really large. I felt that staff could have been more present in the children's area though. They were just hanging out and talking and not helping to keep the slide area safe. While we were there a parent lost her child and no staff was present anywhere. That was discouraging. It's beautiful here. So many beautiful views. Entertainment, and lots of nice places to sit and relax. We even had a chance to see a black bear. read more

We tried Bear-Varian Fall Festival here, and it was GREAT!! I'm not a fan of beer, but their PB&J beer was delicious!!!! It didn't even taste like beer! The also had about five or six other ciders, which is a great option if you don't drink beer! My partner and I had so much trying different local drinks! The place is very very family friendly! I would say it's a great place to take kids! We were bored of the attractions after a few hours, but Bear-Varian made it so fun!! Walking amongst the trees was so fun and we had a hoot on the bridges! The staff working on the interactive shows were fun and energetic! It was also a peaceful place to just chill and watch the sunset! We also saw a bear!!! It was overall a great place to visit on our weekend stay! read more

We paid almost $50 after fees for ticket and $20 to park here, and the only thing to do up there for free is basically looking around. There are plenty of paid activities but when you consider the price of admission on top of the price to do an activity or FAR outweighs the cost of other activities in Gatlinburg. This place is essentially just a small shopping mall at the top of a mountain with tourist stores and restaurants, so it's certainly not worth the cost of parking and admission just to spend more money at the top. read more

Anakeesta is one of my favorite places to visit in Tennessee! The views are absolutely beautiful, and there's so much to do for the whole family. The mountain scenery, rides, attractions, and overall atmosphere make it a great place to spend the day. Everything feels like a fun adventure, especially when you take the chairlift up and enjoy the views of the Smoky Mountains. We decided to take a trip up one of the mountains in Gatlinburg. There are several options, as far as different companies, to take a chair lift or gondola up one of the mountains, and each go to their own different mountain. And at the top of each the company that owns them has their little attractions area. I had searched online, but was not able to find much about Anakeesta being ADA friendly. After having visited, I can assure you it is not very ADA friendly at all. For reference point for any longer period of walking I need a walker, but I can go short distances with a cane. The "crystal" gondolas (basically meaning all glass except the roof) can hold up to six people. While you can board the gondolas with a walker or stroller, it will be a tight fit, but it is accomplishable. Otherwise access to the mountain is through a bus kind of situation. Once at the top of the mountain activities are limited if you are using a walker or wheelchair or have children in a stroller. The tree top walk has stairs at many points and while you may be able to switch to a cane, it is a very long course and you will likely not have the energy to complete it if you really rely on a wheelchair or walker. The overlook tower is only stairs. Thankfully, there are some decent places where you can sit and at least enjoy the view while your party goes and does all the different activities. However, I feel that for the inaccessibility, they should offer a discounted ticket for disabled as you're not going to be able to use any of the activities. That being said it is a pretty view but you'll pay a lot just for that view and there are equally great views at many unpaid or cheaper attractions. read more

Just steps from The Greystone Lodge on the River, Anakeesta's Enchanted Christmas truly lives up to its name. We braved the cold and took the ski lift up the mountain, (another option is to take the tram through the winding road up and down the hill when you get back) and it was absolutely worth it. The entire area was beautifully lit and full of holiday magic. We also purchased tickets for Astra Lumina, the immersive lights-and-sound walking experience--and it was the highlight of our visit. It felt like stepping into another world, and we didn't even realize how muck walking we'd done because we were so captivated. I only wish it were longer! Despite the lines, everything felt well organized. At the top, there's plenty of places to eat, cozy fire pits and heaters, hot cocoa, souvenir shops, and festive holiday decor. There's something for everyone--kids, families, and couples alike. The staff were warm, friendly, and consistently helpful, which made the experience even better. The only downside was the food pricing--considering the admission and extra ticket costs, more affordable options would be appreciated. Overall, Anakeesta is well worth the visit. We'd love to return in spring or fall to experience the greenery or colorful foliage--it must be just as spectacular. read more

This is a great little amusement area with numerous activities and food options. Unfortunately we experienced a thunderstorm during our visit. The staff was very keen on our safety. Their logistics on getting their guests back out of the park was heavily tasked. The zip line and rail rides look amazing. We got 1 line an 1 repel before the storm popped up. My son really wanted to take the glass gondola. That was the main reason for visiting. That being said we went there first thing in the morning which probably made for a better experience. It's quite Disney like up on the mountain and the views are insane on a sunny day. The coasters were soooo much fun and worth the money. But I could see the wait times would get crazy long pretty quickly. The reason for 3 stars? The sky walk was closed without any notice. I checked the website and socials prior to going that morning. This place was a last minute grab on our trip and boy did it hit well! We did purchase the Astra Lumina add on and definitely a must! We arrived when they opened and rode the trucks up as the lines were significantly shorter. Waited maybe 20 minutes. Got to the top and immediately purchased the BOGO free souvenir cup with unlimited refills. Treetop Skywalk was pretty cool to walk across. The kids loved it. Could see quite a bit out but mostly intrigued to walk the rope bridges from tree to tree. The Anakeesta Tower is where the views come in. With the 2 glass floor rows that give the kids a little excitement while the adults get to take in the views. There are also 2 play areas (wooden bridges) and (birdhouses) for the kids to get a little energy out. From the jump net to the slides the kids of all ages will have fun. Just remember to be mindful of all the kids trying to enjoy it. There are a fair amount of shops to look at while up there for those souvenirs needed to take home. A few food vendors as well as the restaurant that smelled amazing and fairly priced. The Astra Lumina we came back for and spent roughly 1-1.5 hours walking through watching the light shows. It was just something you have to see to understand. At the end rode the chairlift back down and the few of the city at night was a great way to finish the already amazing day! read more

Was stuck at the top of Anakeesta for 3 hours due to lightening. The management lacks any sort of evacuation plan. Another guest commented that they were continued to bring guests up on the gondola until there was a lightening strike some distance away. There was no clear communication to guests. They were taking people down in 3 small buses on a one-lane road. Beyond the lack of management and any sort of emergency plan to evacuate several hundred, if not more, people. The entire operation is a giant cash grab. In order to do most of the activities, an additional fee is required. As the storm moved in, they were still taking people's money. Definitely there are better options for families in the Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge areas that are more reasonable in costs and better value. Wanted to have a good time. Left disappointed. No plans to come back. Not how I expected to be treated as a paying customer. Young employees not trained to respond to the situation. Just disappointing the unsafe conditions they put every family that was that was at Anakeeesta in. Just unprepared and unacceptable. There are other situations that require emergency responses, and I highly doubt they are prepared to respond. read more

Our family visited Anakeesta, and we all loved it! The scenery is absolutely stunning. We appreciated that the park worked with nature and highlighted the beauty of the mountains, trees, flowers, etc. Every single view was breathtaking! We did not purchase our tickets ahead of time, but when we go back, we will. We were able to use a posted QR code and buy our tickets at the park rather than stand in line for tickets. We purchased the base ticket and added-on being able to ride coasters. The ride up is an adventure in itself. We rode the chair lift up and the chodola back down. For those less-adventurous, there is the Ridge Rambler (big truck)! The staff at Anakeesta if fantastic. Everyone was so friendly! There were lots of options for food at reasonable price points. We stayed long enough to have both lunch and dinner! If you go with children, be prepared to pay for extras. Note what the base ticket includes, and know that riding the mountain coasters, ziplining, and the photo package are all additional in cost. read more

Anakeesta is very much a tourist attraction in Gatlinburg TN strongly recommend it if you are looking for something to do and specifically recommend it if you have little ones. They have various food and beverage outlets on site. We tried the main restaurants where the views are gorgeous, service is great, food was... alright. They have music shows throughout the park and we went during Halloween time, so the singers were wearing costumes and the whole park was decorated. Anakeesta is very expensive with some hidden additional costs. Tourist trap pricing was the norm. If you can't walk a couple of miles, you're in for a bad day. If you're disabled there is a lot of the place you can't reach. Soooooo many stairs. If you purchase the $22 drink pass, you'll find that it's actually over $26. That's for six tiny beers. There are numerous booths that honor the pass, but each booth only offers 4 or 5 of the listed beers and ciders. If you want to try certain beers on the list you'll have to walk every inch of the park to find them. You can't share a taste with another adult in your party and you're only allowed one small beer at a time. The lower level music attraction was four men in drag badly lip-synching songs and making corny comments between songs- all at about 100 decibels. The upper level music was a live three-man band. The quality of their talent suggests to me that Anakeesta must be running a charity to employ local musicians who can't play or sing. Also extremely loud. On a happy note, the flowers and curtilage were gorgeous. The pork chop dinner at the only restaurant with seating and air conditioning was also delicious. read more

We visited Anakeesta with family on the last day of our trip and really enjoyed the experience overall. Staff were friendly, check-in was easy, and though the peak-season wait for the Chondola was about 45-50 minutes, the views at the top made it worthwhile. The "mountain town" area is beautiful with amazing scenery, live music, and short walking trails to explore. However, for the $35 entry fee, it does feel like almost everything else costs extra. For what you end up spending here, you could probably enjoy a full day at Dollywood for around the same price -- maybe even less. If you go, take the bus if you're not comfortable on the Chondola -- repeated stops for nervous riders slow things down for everyone. And if you're lucky like we were, you might spot a momma bear and her cubs on your way down! Overall, it's definitely worth a visit for the views and atmosphere -- just be prepared for crowds and higher prices. read more

From downtown Gatlinburg you'd never guess what is at the top of the mountain when you step off the glass bottomed gondola. There is quite the variety of foods and the grounds are beautiful. TLDR if you value convenience and are willing to pay a premium for it- this may be a good option. If yiu value the value of money, I think there are far better ways to spend it then this place I thought this place was gonna be amazing. I should have researched further. Unlimited rides on chondola and rampage whatever it is? Sounded great until I realized... thats the gondola (ski lift entrance system) to get up to the park. Ive been to ski resorts as a former Colorado resident. I was afraid if heights back then as I still am now. The difference. Those moved faster which cut down in the fear and anxiety. This sucker went like 3mph and was slowed to allow people to get on or off about a dozen times during our ride. It also stopped every time a cabin reached the top or bottom. Basically it was a 20 minute ride swinging in the wind and bouncing every time we stopped. Not fun. They did have lights on the trees so at night it may have looked much better. We rode only during the day. 4 times total... each time was not fun. Didn't try the other unlimited "ride." The truck up the mountain. Ran every half hour. One lane windy road. We couldn't do that one as one in our group was prone to motion sickness. Once we got up there....there were 0 rides unless you payed more. So the day pass just gets you up the mountain. $17 for 2 coaster rides. If you isn't to go tandem you must buy each person a ticket which includes 2 rides each. (4 total). Plus tax. It was like $38 for 2 to try the coaster. I think it lasted 2 minutes. Didn't try the zipline. Although it kinda seemed like the chondola so not only did you have to pay a LOT more, it didnt seem unique. Food. The pass is a less bad deal. Portions were small. Stuff was a bit on the expensive side and the pass makes it more reasonable but still the portions were small. I thought dollywood was small. I think these are a little smaller. The performers were decent. They put good effort into their performances. The views were pretty cool. I think you could get similar for a day pass into the national park. The playground stuff was cool. It was limited, but unique. By far better playgrounds then what we have in Florida... but about similar to some of the playgrounds we had in Michigan. Different but there were some really nice playgrounds where we lived up there. Splash pad.. meh. Refreshing and kids had fun but small and lacked features to keep it interesting. No splash bucket. No turrets.... kinda basic. Didn't try the light show. Ive heard it was good so that could really influence the overall view of this place. All in all id say good, coaster, splash pad, entertainment, views... not worth the cost Playground... could be worth a season pass if you can go often. For us visiting town, 2 adults, 1 kid, 1 food pass, 2 coaster rides... im very disappointed in the value. I think we spent like $165 (9.75% tax). May be worth it if you are looking for all activities in one place. But if you chunked them out over a day or two, you could do all this for less and devote a lot more time to each one. Which could save money too as you dont have to plan and pay for other activities in that time. read more

We love Anakeesta, especially in the fall during their Bear Variam Festival (highly recommend you get a beer tour passport if you are a beer/cider drinker). We've gone two years in a row (2024 and 2025) and even between the years it seems that there is more to offer. Plan to be there all day, especially if you have small children. There is so much for them to do, climb, and explore which is nice so you can enjoy your drink while they play. All the kids areas are secure too so you won't lose them or worry about them falling down the mountain. Our kids LOVE the slide and birdhouse climbing area. There's a stage for live entertainment close by which we really enjoyed. Lots of food options all over however we really enjoy the lookout mountain restaurant and you have to get ice cream for dessert afterwards. Transportation up the mountain is either by their Ridge Rambler (open bus with no windows so dress accordingly) or the skyline with both open and closed cars (runs really slowly and usually a LONG line). I highly recommend purchasing your tickets online in advance because even though that option is available, many do not opt for it and would rather stand in a VERY LONG line to purchase tickets and then get in line for the skyline. If you purchase in advance and opt to ride the bus like we do, wait time is very minimal and you can bypass most of the line which is a huge plus. (also, the waiting area is by 2 private restrooms in case you need to go before boarding). Even though it's busy, everything is so spread out that it's not crowded which is super nice. Plan to take a backpack to carry items as you will stay on the mountain and it's not easy to go back and forth to the car (could but will take time), plus, it's nice to have in case it's chilly and hot later so you can store clothing layers. Currently, Anakeesta is closed until March for remodels and they've shared ideas and things to come which all look like great additions. We can't wait to go again this fall 2026 to enjoy all the new amenities. Highly recommend for all ages! read more

There are many options and activities... some come with admission, some cost extra. It was cool to see a bear on our way up. This is bear country. A Beautiful but Overpriced Experience While the setting is undeniably beautiful, I found the overall experience to be far too expensive for what it offers. By the time you pay for admission, the mountain coaster, zip lining, gemstone mining, and the light show, the total cost becomes excessive. For that amount, you could visit Dollywood instead and enjoy a wider variety of attractions and entertainment for less. This venue may be better suited for couples rather than families, as the costs add up quickly. It's a lovely spot, but it feels more like a tourist money trap than a good value. Additionally, I encountered a few frustrating policies. For example, I was holding a small cup of beer and wanted to try another, but staff wouldn't serve me until I had finished the first one -- which didn't make much sense. Everything also closes fairly early, so if you purchase a beer tasting pass, make sure to use it before around 8 p.m. Otherwise, you'll lose the remaining value, as I unfortunately discovered. Overall, it's a beautiful place to visit once, but not something I'd choose to do again. read more

Absolutely loved our first visit to Anakeesta park! At first we were hesitant due to the cost to get in, but it is definitely worth it! They do a wonderful job maintaining the park. There is also a lot to do for all ages. The views also can't be beat. Make sure you wear walking shoes, it is a lot of walking up there. read more

Visited here again 12-1-25. It was cold but we dressed for it. The ride up was nice, didn't rock alot. Tons of Christmas lights and decorations throughout the park up top. We went at night and the ride up was a little dark but that is due to some major construction they are doing for next year. read more

I arrived with my granddaughter and husband @10:10 am stood in line until I got close to someone to ask where is the self tickets at she directed me back to the back so I went and got 2 seniors and one child ticket it spit out what I thought was three tickets but when I tried to scan them one it did not accept and when I ask the worker why was it not working she smarted off to me that if I would let her answer me she would tell me why when all I did was ask her why it was not scanning, turns out it was the receipt so I ask her what should I do because this was all it gave me and again got smarted off to and told me to go back to the ticket kiosk and get the ticket knowing full well that if the ticket had hung up more than 10 people had got tickets after me and someone got a free ticket at that point but I went back and of course it was not there so I go back again and ask what do I need to do because the receipt showed I had paid for all three tickets and again hateful comment about they could not help it and at that point I said I didn't say you to do anything about it just tell me where I need to go sooo I had to get BACK in the main line for them to straighten it out then stood more for a picture which we did not want to be taken so we finally got on the gondola at 11:46am will never go back again would not have this time had it not been for my granddaughter.
