We visited on a busy summer Monday in July, but never waited more than about 30 minutes for a ride. We stayed from 11a-7p, and got to ride everything! Everyone we encountered was super nice and helpful. The lifeguards are very attentive, and you can tell that they enjoy their job! Order tickets, parking, and cabanas on line. EVERYTHING IS MORE EXPENSIVE THERE. We did 2 day passes. Parking was $20 and clam shell was $160 paying at park. The second day parking was $14 and clam shell $99 ordered online. No food or drinks allowed ONLY CLOSED WATER 1 per person allowed. Service is not consistent 1st day we had a server coming to our clam to refresh water and take food orders second day nothing they said they are unable too. I had to show the fine print that states I get a host to serve us. The manager explained they were short staff. I don't feel that's my fault but wanted to enjoy my time and asked for a pitcher to receive water. Luckily my clam shell was near one of their bars so I was able to walk over and get ice and water when needed. Wave pool was my daughter's favorite however long waiting period in between waves. There were MANY slides to keep the family busy and ones that were closed on the first day were back and running the second day. Lazy river you will have to fight for a floaty. They also leave all floaties on the river so even if it's empty it's taking up space. Many food options priced as you would expect for a park. Walking taco was my favorite. If you are coming with a group a recommend get a cabana or at least a clam shell. We had so much fun! We took advantage of the $10 off by going on a Monday and it saved us 40 bucks that we used towards food and drinks throughout the day. There is a twenty dollar charge for parking, so it's a good and not so good thing on how you look at it. Some of our favorite slides were the Edge and Avalaunch. We tubed fast through them and went on them a couple times. It's a hike up the stairs and it's all worth it in the end. The Soaky Surge and Black Bear Rapids has a wave pool and a lazy river. There is something to do if you don't want to relax for a few minutes. I had a grilled chicken Caesar salad for lunch. It was huge! I enjoyed it and cooled off with some Powerade. The lunch break was nice to recharge before we got back into the water for the rest of the day. The lifeguards were everywhere you looked and it was a peace of mind knowing that they were doing what they were suppose to since the water can be dangerous if not cautious. My sister bought tickets as an add-on for our Wilderness in the Smokies stay. It was a wonderful park, lots of fun, and worth the add-on if you stay a few days. A couple of things you should know ahead of time. While you can't carry water in you can carry in an empty water bottle or canister and fill it once in the gate. They have cold water dispensers after entering. They do not provide towels. Since we had been at Wilderness for a few days, and they provided towels, so we didn't even think to bring any. Parking is $25 per car...steep price. We took the shuttle from Wildnerness. The kiddie area had a lot of surprise water dripping and was not conducive to little kids who may not like the experience of surprise water - our 6-year-old preferred the wave pool and the lazy river. read more

I was trying to decide between Soaky Mountain or Dollywood's waterpark. I chose Soaky Mountain as the lazy river with the waves sold me. I found everyone here to be friendly with the exception of 1 or 2 people who just seemed miserable but pretty good for a waterpark. My favorite slide was 'The Edge', loved the classic pool, loved the lazy river with the waves. I could just go back for those 3 rides/activities. Not a lot of lazy rivers have waves... only been on 1 other which was in Long Island, NY and more places need to do it. I loved that they had water going off on some of the ride ques so your feet don't burn... only some of them had it though, all of them need to because my feet did burn but it was so nice when they had it. They were also training some employees while I was there, I went to order a 'Walking Taco' for myself and my husband and they gave it to us for free! I don't know why... I guess maybe since they were training they made extras? Either way, I like free and it was very yummy. The frozen drinks at the bar were delicious as well. Cons: parking is $20. I never paid that much for parking at a waterpark. My other con is that the lifeguards at the lazy river are not watching, or they don't care... not sure which. There was a group of people pushing each other, and eventually threw a tube and the handle of the tube wacked my husband in the face. It wasn't until my husband yelled at them to knock it off, that they stopped. He told one of the lifeguards which was completely confused. Overall, it's a decent park. I'll start with: would we return? Yes. Reluctantly, but yes. Pros: Military discount, kids were wiped out-loved it, plenty of options for all ages. Cons: parking is $20 (I could understand $5-10), ticket prices are a bit steep compared to other water parks we have been to. You will easily spend $300 for tickets (4 people), parking , locker, lunch. The lifeguards appeared to be very aware and consciously making an effort to ensure safety. The lazy River staff should monitor the distribution of floats. There needs to be a better plan in place. Security was easily identifiable and their presence was known. While we did enjoy a beer while there, there were other patrons who may have drank too much. Kids should not be exposed to that type of behavior in a family establishment. The smoking area is right by one of the main places you order food (that seemed odd to me). All in all it was ok, just a bit overpriced. We felt the lines moved at a reasonable rate. We never waited more than 10 minutes to enjoy a ride and likely it was much less than that. read more

We visited Soaky Mountain on our drive home to DC in Aug 2023. The water park was so nice and we had absolutely zero complaints! We visited on a Sunday and expected it to be insane but the waits were not very long (except for the one green one in the back of the park). Snake Den slide lines were quick and the slides were awesome!! My ten year old had the time of his LIFE on slides, in the lazy river and in the wave pool. The lazy river is not a very lazy river. It has loads of fountains and waterfalls to splash you if you don't navigate away from them. There's a gentle rapids section that gives you a push of speed but it won't flip you, not by a long shot. The hardest part was avoiding all of the people. The lazy river was PACKED and kids were swimming it which made it hard to just float. But we went around it five times and loved it :) The ground did eventually get too hot to walk on in the afternoon but the rides had storage for shoes at the bottom so it wasn't an issue to stay in our flip flops until we got in line. We never had any trouble getting inner tubes for rides or the lazy river. We had zero trouble finding chairs by the wave pool to sit our things. The food options were great. We got fries, mini corn dogs, pizza, drinks, a cheeseburger. There were wraps and salads and sandwiches. Frozen yogurt, a taco truck, a huge bar with amazing drinks (cucumber falls was my fave). Overall, we stayed from open til close and had such a relaxing time!!! read more

Excellent water park featuring numerous water slides, a lazy river (or rapids depending on time), wave pool, ninja pool course, bodyboard surfing, and much more! I was very impressed with the layout - everything is new and well-organized. They have several group/family water rides that allow multiple riders in the same tube. Some are pretty intense. For instance, the blue mountain mayhem was one of the more thrilling rides and is a family tube ride! The river is also unique because they can turn on rapids that gives you a little adventure as you're floating. I usually am not a water park person. But, I enjoyed this place. I also like that it's located in the least crowded part of Sevierville (before you drive through town on the Parkway; right after that big knife store). So, not hard to get here. Food was decent. We ate at their taco truck stand near one of the slides. Cost was a little pricey. But, that's to be expected in a place like this. Tips: 1) Buy tickets and parking online. It's cheaper and more convenient. Sometimes there are specials. 2) get a locker. Definitely worth it and their system is great. It's touch screen and you only need to remember a code. This was our first time here and we were not disappointed. We went to cedar points water park the week before and prices were outrageous. Prices here at Soaky Mountain were very responsible. From the attire, to the food and drinks, and even the cabana, it was all fairly priced. The food did not disappoint. The funnel cake came with a large heaping of vanilla ice cream, and a ton of crushed Oreos. The cabana was well worth the money (half the price of cedar points and bigger/nicer). It had plenty of seating, a fan, you could adjust the music loudness, there was an attendant call button. Our attendant, Julie, was fabulous. So sweet and caring and always made sure we were well taken care of. The lines for the rides were not very long (middle of August). There was plenty of seating for guest. Ok, let's start by saying that it's not a cheap day. Parking is $20, entrance to the park is $45, it's expensive and we know that water parks are. You're going to pay that and you're going to wait in lines, unrealistic to expect anything less. I was impressed with how much quicker everything moved than the almighty and highly praised Dollywood. I know this park is smaller, much smaller, but I just felt like the attention to detail was so much greater here than at other places I've been. Boy was this park CLEAN. The setup here is great, they have the wave pool which is always open, waves are pumping out a high percentage of the time and my daughter had an absolute blast here. The thing I was most impressed with was the attentiveness of the lifeguards! They made an incredible amount of rescues when we were there. They were on it! Tons of respect to the training they receive and the focus they had. The kids area is great, they have two of them, and the locker situation is also amazing. The food lines move quickly and are half the price of Dollywood. We came down here for a week, did everything there is to do and the highlight of the trip was easily Soaky Mountain. We decided to tag along with some friends and spend our Saturday at the water park. It was a great day, the park wasn't overly crowded. There was plenty of seating. The lines definitely got longer in the afternoon but overall it was a good experience. Food wasn't outrageous for a water park, it was hot, and the portions were good sized. They have a little something for everyone when it comes to water attractions. They have Boomerang Bay and The Hive for younger ones. A variety of different slides. The wave pool is wild, and the lazy river is great earlier in the day when it's not completely packed. I don't really have too many complaints honestly about the park itself. I think some of the employees could pay a little more attention to the bullying on the slides, and actually watch the slides and making sure people don't go down too soon and run over others in the kids area that are just getting to the bottom, that was definitely a safety issue so my suggestion is to be super alert with your littles at all times, maybe even more so than normal. The park is clean and the bathrooms for a water park were surprisingly clean as well. They have life vests available at the park, they do have a variety of sizes as well. Parking is 20 dollars but if you want to save a few bucks definitely hop online and buy it online early. They have different cabanas available too. Overall it's a great attraction! We are went to park yesterday, Wednesday, July 19 to celebrate my daughter's 15th birthday. My mom, my sisters and their families also came with us. We decided it would be easier to rent a cabana since we had some young children and they could maybe take a nap however, when we got to our cabana number 31 the latches were falling off it wouldn't zip up. The fan was located in a corner that when it would turn and blow, it kept hitting the side of the fabric of the cabana. It was very disappointing, considering it was so expensive to rent just for it to be kind of dilapidated. We also had a waiter which I feel would definitely have been more helpful Had the park been a little bit busier, but it would make their job a little bit easier if they had a way to carry so much food and drinks. Our server continuously had to make extra trips because he couldn't carry everything in one go and unfortunately speed was not his side by the time he got there the drinks had no ice and tasted watered down. They definitely need some sort of vehicle to get orders to guests. The rides were really nice. My favorite was the big blue one tunnel one I am unsure what it was called but I love the drop that was unexpected. I also have a son with autism and he absolutely loved the rainbow tunnel slide. I wish I could have recorded his face so that I could watch it everyday. I do wish they had an age limit at the kitty slide as there were some older boys that were roughhousing and kept knocking babies over they had to be spoke to continuously it breaks my heart that parents consider this place to be a daycare and not be there to watch their children. Most of the lifeguards we came in contact with were very nice and knowledgeable, although some were a little hard to understand. We ordered a cheese pizza and my oh my was it delicious it had the perfect amount of cheese, my husband had a cheeseburger and he said it was delicious as the fries were also. I had the taco truck and was a little disappointed as it was not very good. I had the steak tacos, the steak was very very chewy and cold. It's a HUGE water park that's for sure. The wave pool is massive and they run it often. They also have something like a "monster" wave or something like that several times a day...go do it, the waves are amazing and it's only during certain times. Prob not good for kids to be alone during but if they are good swimmers then no worries. Top notch water slides. What else can you say. The Hive is another great spot for kids...multiple water slides for kids and a big bee hive that fills up with water and spills out, super fun area for kids. However this is area Does Not have enough life guard support for the slides. So no one tells kids when to go and when not to go so your child can be rammed into at the bottom...mine got a pile driver from a grown man who went down right after my 6 year old son. Put some life guards on this area to control who goes down the slide and when they can go. This actually could be a 5 star park but a few things need to be improved on. We rented a Cabana for each day and on Friday the service was great but on Saturday the park was packed and service was awful. You pay several hundred dollars more for the cabana and private waiter but they need more waiters...ours had no way to check back on us...maybe once every few hours...you can push a button for your waiter but there's not enough of them so plan on waiting an hour minimum. The food is no Dollywood but it's okay, good enough for a water park I guess. Overall this is a neat park and if you go during the week it's not really that crowded. The weekends are like a rednecks paradise, I'm basically a redneck so it works out great. read more

I visited Soaky Mountain for the first time yesterday and wasn't overly impressed. Thankfully I'd purchased discount admission tickets at Costco. $20 to park really grinds my gears so that was my first annoyance. The park is fairly small and was super packed. There aren't a ton of slides and sadly we weren't able to enjoy many of the attractions due to the weight limits. Don't get me wrong I'm all for safety but let's face it, in this day and age there was a good 1/4 of the guests in the park that weren't able to enjoy these attractions due to their size. The lazy river was fun but I really hate they allow people to just run around in it without a tube. It was really frustrating to have kids pushing and swimming under the tube. It really took out the relaxing atmosphere of a lazy river. We also had to wait ages for a tube. The staff member passing them out kept handing them to people who had been waiting less time than we were. I finally spoke up and said something about how we kept getting passed up and finally got a tube after waiting a good 15 minutes. The wave pool is honestly a little scary. The waves get rough and there were tons of people in it. All in all I'm not sure I'll return. read more

On their website it states to talk to employees about allergies. For gluten free items, they only have pizza in a size 8" that is mediocre at best. Staff wasn't knowledgeable about food truck options for those with food allergies (I.e. egg, nut, gluten, dairy, etc.) and food trucks themselves had minimal knowledge regarding how items are cooked and with what spices. A manager was contacted prior to visiting with no call back. Long story short, pack your own food in a cooler and leave it in your car if you have allergies. read more

Love this place! It has something for everyone. Be prepared to walk downhill going in the park and uphill coming out. It could be a bad thing if you're worn out from the adventures that day. The entire park is up and down hill. Not a problem, but just warning others. The lazy river is a bit rough, if you're expecting it to be just your normal lazy river. It's more of river rampage. The wave pool is nice and big, but don't place your shoes on the ground, they will wash off in the waves. The slides they have are a bit crowded but they are so many different ones you can surely get on one. Just buy a season pass instead of daily passes, you won't regret it. The Facebook ad said the Monday promotion would be available at the gate. There was no online option. When we arrived at the gate, they said it was an online promo only. When I showed them the ad, they shrugged and said that their boss had just told them otherwise. When they tried to demonstrate, they realized that it wasn't available online. They called their supervisor over the radio, who was not nearby so we had to wait. When he showed up, he spent a few minutes typing on the computer and told me that he had "fixed it" and it was now available online. I pointed out I'd been at the window quite a while and didn't want to now get out of line to try to buy tickets online. He just stared. Rather than miss more time, I paid the higher price and went in. On the positive side the park was clean, the slides were fun, and the lazy river was a hit with my family. My family and I were in the area on vacation from Ohio and found this park while looking up attractions. Had a great time! The Tennessee heat bearing down on us was the only rough part of the day. Make sure you bring your own towels and pack a lunch in a cooler. You can't bring any food or drink in, but you can get stamped to come back in if you step out into the parking lot. Worth doing because their food prices are nuts. Another thing worth noting is if you're staying in the area, take the 20 mins from there to drive to Costco. They sell tickets there $20 cheaper than the gate. Buy your parking pass on the Soaky Mountain website instead of in person too. Saved us $10. Now if you got it like that money wise, disregard everything I said and do it your way. The park itself is awesome. read more

Lines were shorter than Splash Country. The wave pool created waves that had small white caps. A lot more fun than the other wave pools. The lazy River had surges that gave more fun for people that wanted more than just a slow float. The surges did not bother the "floaters". We went here yesterday. It was a really nice park. We got there about 12, and stayed until a little after four. The kids (14 & 13) LOVED the waves in the lazy river. They were a little disappointed that the wave pool wasn't working for some reason. You could still get in, but the waves never came. The Beehive area for little kids was awesome. We walked around it and through the sprayers. There was also an area where they had small slides for kids, which we thought was cool. There were tons of slides, but we didn't do any of them. The Lazy River is just that until certain intervals throughout the day when waves form and go for approximately two hours at a time. A tip from us to you is that you get a tube and make your way into the Lazy River about thirty minutes prior to the waves starting (they have signs telling you the times of the waves) and then stay in there until the ways start. Otherwise, the tubes will be few and far between, as it gets busier for the waves. The food options inside the park were practically endless. They even had a macaroni and cheese truck! We had lunch here, but we opted for the grilled chicken salad, while the kids had a cheeseburger with fries and chicken tenders and fries. All the food was made fresh and delicious. We also got Dippin Dots, which was yummy as always. They also had a taco truck and very unique milkshakes. I have seen some reviews that say there isn't enough shade, but we had no problem finding shade. Twice we found an empty table covered by an umbrella to enjoy lunch first, and then our tasty snack. There are tons of umbrellas and wooden pavilions scattered throughout the park. It's not as big as Splash Country, but it's also not as packed and less expensive. When we went to Splash Country, regular admission for the four of us for one day in just the waterpark was right at $300. Yesterday at Soaky Mountain, we paid adult general admission for the four of us, which was less than $175. General admission for anyone over 42" is $46.99 each. You can stay all day, or you can get a bracelet to leave and come back later the same day. After 4pm, general admission is $27.99 per person. They also have cabanas available to rent, but they will run you anywhere from $130 for 2 people to $300 for up to eight people. We didn't get a cabana, but still managed to find empty seats throughout. The lifeguards here are much more attentive than at other waterparks we've been too (specifically Splash Country and Aquatica in Orlando). Three times, lifeguards jumped in to help struggling guests while we were here (once in the Lazy River, once in the wave pool, & once when a tube got stuck in one of the slides). They have lockers for your towels and such, but we didn't use those. I saw where most of them were $12 for the day. Parking is $15 per car, while RVs and larger vehicles are a tad more. The parking lot is literally huge!!! There are letters on the pavement marking the areas. Remember where you parked so you can easily find it later. I have saw reviews referring to the pathway leading down to the park from the ticket booth. It is a good little walk down, and then obviously it's uphill when you leave; but the whole park is on a 'mountain', so it's logical to have some uphill and downhill pathways. Anyways, neither direction is too bad. They have speakers with music going along the way. If you are visiting Knoxville, Pigeon Forge, or Gatlinburg in the summer, I highly recommend checking out Soaky Mountain Waterpark. read more

I came to soaky mountain and was having a great time until I was walking up the stairs and suddenly got a radio dropped on my head from the platform above me. The 2 workers at the top were horse playing and dropped the radio and hit my head on its way down. They barley have an apology then continued on. Talked to a manager later and he just asked if I was okay and took my number. Was not nice at all. I continued on with my day and then there was lightning in the area to where they had to close down. Went around asking questions of what the protacal was and not one worker new until I walked all the way to the front desk which they told me they're giving rain checks. But since I didn't have my receipt I couldn't have one, regardless of me being inside and a wrist band on. Horrible service all around. read more

The pros: Very clean. Good collection of rides, especially the water coaster. The lazy river with the waves was a lot of fun. My kids enjoyed The Hive area quite a bit as well. For my kids, it was a great experience and they enjoyed the park immensely. We bought the 4 pack of tickets online and saved about 35.00. The cons: They ran an ad on Twitter and FB for discounted Monday tickets. The ad said to redeem at park yet the park would not honor the discount nor was it available online for purchase! The very unprofessional and rude staff would not honor the ad for our friends that joined us. The food was terrible. We were a large group and we all got disgusting food. I saw the taco truck employees cutting open and then pouring from a bag of pre cooked meat into a warming tray. The mac and cheese bowls were gross. The hot dogs were spongy. When we visit Dollywood, food is an integral part of the experience, here they are looking to maximize profit margins on food instead of a positive guest experience. Don't know if we would return.
