Wonderful upscale resort nestled in the Great Smokey Mountains. The amenities are superb and the food at their restaurant is delicious! The hotel is GORGEOUS and styled so well. Upon our arrival we were greeted by friendly staff that helped us check in and arranged to have our baggage taken up to our room. They do offer valet parking and complementary self parking. They have an indoor pool, outdoor pool, fire pits, arcade, gym, spa, and even complementary s'mores in the evening. The service and staff were all wonderful! This review is all about the SPA!!! Can a husky, bald, 56 y/o man get a massage?? HELL YEAH!!! Wife and I did a couples massage (a first) since we were looking for couples opportunities. And this didn't disappoint. It was very relaxing and both wife and I felt very comfortable. I did apologize for my feet (I have gravel grippers) but they trooped on. The therapists were engaging as to what we'd like (I asked to kneaded like a bad pillow, and wife was less needy). But they adjusted accordingly and we were very appreciative It can be pricey (we had a resort discount though), but this is well worth the cost. It's okay to be a dude and get massaged with eucalyptus-coconut oils. I will not judge you. read more

Earlier this year, my friend and I stayed at Dollywood's DreamMore Resort in Pigeon Forge and I'll sum up my experience - short and sweet: genuine southern hospitality. The resort is in the mountains, a few minutes from Dollywood. It's clean and rustic but elegant - think Dolly Parton's style and touch. It's family oriented so it's cozy, not really flashy. I bet during the holidays (now) placed is decked out. Kudos to the staff. From checking in, to dining all the way the family activities (smores), everyone was friendly, helpful and genuinely warm making people feel welcome. Service wasn't feigned or scripted - it was real and even when it was busy, the staff took care of business. Room was comfortable and clean. Not extravagant - think Southern charm. Bathroom wasn't cramped, water pressure good and temperature nice and hot. Quiet (we had a corner room) and we couldn't hear anything. Not even when neighbors opening or closing their door. Even had a workspace if you were working while you were supposed to be on vacation. Amenities included shuttle to and from the park. Pool and Spa (didn't partake). Went to the bar/restaurant - see other review and an on site convenience store. Free parking. I'm sure there are more but that's just all that comes to mind because we were for the park. That's also in another review. Anyway - to sum it up, it's not quite a luxury resort - but a place that offers heartfelt comfort wrapped in Southern Hospitality. If you know Dolly's story, it kinda captures her spirit - warm, sincere and touches of joy. The good: The hotel is beautiful and the staff are incredibly friendly and helpful. I loved getting up early to read by the fountain on the porch and take in the beautiful scenery. I really enjoyed the specialty cocktails at the bar, and the bartenders were fantastic. The shuttle to the park and the park perks were great! The ok: For what you're paying, the rooms are pretty basic. The restaurant was good, but I wish there were more choices of food. The shop off the lobby has great pizzas, but when the park closes and families are hungry, the wait time is long. The bad: I know it's a family friendly place, but I didn't expect a resort hotel of this price to be completely overrun with children. There are no adults only areas including the bar. Families trashed the sitting areas in the lobby and the porch. Literal trash everywhere and screaming children. We tried to use the hot tub (restricted to age 16+), and a loud family with tons of kids decided to make the hot tub sitting area their private retreat. Even Disney has adult only areas. Also, there's only one bank of elevators and they're always slow and packed to the brim with wet, loud children. Bottom line: it's not worth the cost. **April 2025: 3 Night Stay** My Dollywood DreamMore Resort stay was a dream. The property overlooks the Smokey Mountains and all the amenities made for a comfortable stay. THE ROOM The room itself was spacious and comfortable. The bed was exactly how I would enjoy it - soft on top but firm for peaceful sleep. The shower had good hot water with good pressure and a whole bottle of shampoo, body wash and conditioner (not those small hotel types). The tv had all your favorite channels (for me it's Food Network, Travel) and we had a view of the Dollywood water park! Our stay was around $900 for three nights and two people in April (Checkout on Saturday). Checkin after 4pm and checkout 11am (They will text you and ask what time you plan to depart). ACTIVITIES During my visit they had pink lemonade for guests from 4pm-6pm and a Smores Campfire Activity from 7pm-8pm. Every person gets one s'more kit but you can get more marshmallows. My friend and I opted to pick up a few supplies at the grocery store so we could roast more since we're bigger kids lol PERKS Free Parking: This is so rare when I'm from so this is a huge plus! Buttons: When we checked in I don't think our host asked if we were celebrating anything, but on the 2nd night I came back to the desk and asked if I could get the birthday pin and the 1st visit pin, which he gladly presented. Shuttle Service: They have complimentary shuttle services starting at 9am and go at 15 minute increments. If you go on a busy day plan to get there as early as possible. I think there was a line formed 30 people deep right at 9am. Time Saver Pass: Each guest is given a wristband that entitles them to unlimited ride (for participating attractions) during the first hour and up to 5 rides after 11am. My review is for the spa, although the resort is beautiful and we will likely book here on our next trip because we were very impressed with the atmosphere and cleanliness of the resort! My husband and I had a couples massage and it was so great! It was one of the best massages I've ever had. It's not a very large spa but the services are amazing. The resort was great. The rooms were super clean as were the hallways and public areas. There are many kids here having a great time. The breakfast buffet is good. The restaurant food is good but not delicious. There appears to be little staff training about the importance of removing dirty dishes/glasses from the tables. Some empty tables remained dirty for over an hour. I witnessed a family of three sitting at a table in the bar area leave after 15 minutes after no server acknowledged them. Thus the server training needs to improve as this is a management issue. The bar only has about 8 seats that are always filled on the weekend. The golf cart transportation by the valet to Heart Song resort was great. The Heart Song is more sophisticated in my view. The rooms appear to all have a balcony. The public areas are more luxurious. There seems to be more adults and less children at Heart Song. Thus if I return I would Stay at Heart Song. Everyone was very nice and polite. Jackie from the valet was super friendly and helpful. Definitely rent a car as Ubers are hard to find. The resort does not have a Shuttle to see their shows such as Dolly's Stampede. We almost missed our show as a result of the dearth of transportation. You can take the Resort shuttle to the Dollywood park and then take the public trolly from Dollywood, for a minimal fee, to Patriot's Park downtown Pigeon Forge. I would stay again but my first choice would be the sister resort, Heart Song. read more

Dreammore was a beautiful experience. It was an amazing vacation with a beautiful layout The hotel was easy to find. Pulling up, there is a bell service to pack up your bags. You can choose to have valet or free self parking. Walking inside felt like a dreamy southern experience. They have two EV slow chargers which was nicely appreciated. The place does have 4 elevators which can be a wait. It does help to know that you need to request on both sides to increase your chances. However, one of them was down and we almost got stuck on it! The rooms are spacious. We had the family room king bed. Upon entering, you have bunk beds for the kids. I am not a fan of having kids next to the door. Bathroom was spacious with a separate toilet areas. One sink in the bathroom and another outside. King bed was nice and pillows were cozy. Only issue I wish for was a sitting area like a couch. There was nothing. Both indoor and outdoor pools were good. Had lifeguards doing an amazing job One perk of staying here is free Trolley to the parks which was air conditioned and only about 10-15 mins away. Also, they claim they run about 15-20 mins. But we never had to wait for one even if we just missed a trolley. Also, we have free time savers at the theme park. Had to visit the front desk at 9am every morning but there was never a huge wait The hotel does have a text message service. Out of all the hotels, this place has the best and fastest response. They need to show Hilton, Marriott, etc how to do it their way! All the staff at this location was amazing. Front desk, housekeeping, maintenance, lifeguards... etc. all amazing! We had breakfast at the restaurant on the first floor. Food was delicious.... Not hot food but it did taste great. Bought a Winter Concert Package that included two concert tickets and a room. Being new Dollywood Diamond Pass holders, I knew there was a discount, but I couldn't figure out how to apply it by booking online, so I called and someone at their number helped me. He was very nice, but told me he was tired and falling asleep. I subsequently never got my confirmation email (thankfully I wrote the conf number down - I never do that!), and when I arrived at the resort, found he'd spelled my name wrong, too. I was told the after-hours reservations staff are not employees but that service is contracted out. I recommend calling during business hours to book if you need to to avoid any issues. Upon arrival we were greeted by two people whose job was to greet us and provide a taste of apple cider. Nice touch. The front desk staff was very welcoming, warm and sincere and said they appreciated me. Southern hospitality at its best. With Dollywood building a new resort and the good price I got on this stay, I expected the resort to be a little older and slightly worn, and it was. I anticipate that once the other resort is built, this one will get a rehab. That's just kind of business for you. My favorite touch was that prior to arrival I got a text welcoming me and letting me know I could text the number throughout my stay with any questions. I used it to let them know of the wrong spelling of my name on the reservation, to ask how to obtain utensils and to let them know I'd checked out in the morning. We had a beautiful view of the Smoky Mountains, pool area and water park. The room and hotel decor was lovely. Eating as gluten-free plant-based eaters was a problem. The only thing available was French fries in the bar. The Dollywood Resort has very limited options, but at least there's options. I hope the hotel follows suit. I realize my eating ways are in the minority, but plant based eating is also pretty common so I'm looking forward to there being more healthy options for people like me in the future. Fortunate we brought alternative milk and cereal for the in-room fridge for breakfast in the morning. The drinks in the bar were not up to resort standards. Ordered Old Fashioned's and expected them to come with the standard Amarena or Luxardo cherries that every other bar serves them with. Nope: standard red-dye maraschino cherry. Yuk. Then it was muddled into the drink. It made it undrinkable, so I got something else after letting the bartender know. I still paid for both drinks, so that was disappointing. I've been staying in a LOT of hotels over the past year, and Dollywood DreamMore ranks near the top, but just a few tweaks could make it the premier resort it is meant to be. read more

We arrived early and were able to store our luggage , get our express pass wristbands that come free with the hotel stay, and took the free and efficient trolley to the front gate of the park. When we returned that evening, our luggage had been sent to our room. We enjoyed the piano player while we had a delicious dinner in the lounge. The shrimp tacos were amazing and our waitress friendly and fast. We were even able to have the famous cinnamon bread delivered to our room the next morning for breakfast. Dollywood's Dreammore resort was our base of operations during our visit to Dollywood and Pigeon Forge. With our reservation we were able to secure a 2 day park ticket to Dollywood along with 5 timesaver passes for each member of our party for each day. Upon arrival we were greeted by valet who took our luggage to our room once it was assigned. Check in was simple, I received all the instructions needed to use the complimentary Dollywood trolley to go back and forth to the park and to hang onto my trolley pass at all times. They have an online virtual assistant to help us with our needs but somehow that didn't work for us. No biggie as I am used to calling or physically going to the service that required my attention. The main lobby has complimentary juice servings between 4-6 pm daily. Camp Dollywood is available for kids. They have an outdoor pit where you can roast s'mores along with two pools, one indoor and outdoor along with a hot tub. The lobby floor has checkerboards, outdoor rocker seating, the DM pantry, Pokeberry Lane, the only gift shop in the complex and 4 of Dolly's instruments under glass featuring Swarovski crystals. Make sure to check them out. We stayed in the reunion suite which had a king bed with a full bed with a connecting living room with a sofa bed that had a partial bath. Both rooms had spectacular views of the pool area, Splash country and the Smokies. It was perfect for my husband, myself and grown daughter. We need have a mechanical need during our stay and the team was right on top of it to make sure everything was fixed properly and explained. The resort also features a spa, a hallway featuring Dolly's albums, a hall with a two way cut out pictures, a fitness center, and the Song and Hearth restaurant on the ground floor. Outside is a spectacular butterfly garden, a stone garden, an event space and one of Dolly's touring bus' that is also used for a resort visit. There is also a children's playground and a schedule of all daily activities. Pictures of Dolly Parton herself can be found throughout the resort. Check out the time capsule on the ground floor that will be opened on Dolly's 100th birthday. It holds a song which will be played at that time along with a piece of wood from one of her first theaters. Everywhere you see the butterfly which Dolly was fond of. Staff went over and above to make us feel welcome here. My daughter kept describing the place as "wholesome"' and she's right. The comfort feel of being in a home away from home. Our beds were quite comfortable and the room was always kept clean. We definitely want to thank the entire staff for making our trip here so enjoyable. Upon our arrival, we was driving into the check in area and was greeted immediately by very friendly and happy attendants that you could tell loved their jobs. They took our luggage out of our car for us and placed it on a cart to be delivered to our room, we also had them valet our jeep since parking seems to be very full. Very busy place. I felt like I was in Disney world with a lot of children running around and being around happy people. Check in- was very smooth as well. Since we was here for a concert to see Ricky Scaggs at Dollywood they gave us trolly tickets to ride over so we wouldn't have to take our car and timesaver passes for the rides, five each. We didn't ride any of the rides so we have those away to some kids at the park who were totally excited to have them. The room- the attendant took us to our room and said if we needed anything at all to let them know. Our luggage was there waiting for us, very quick. The room was very spacious and nice, we even had bunk beds that we didn't need or use. Our view was awesome of the pool area. Everything was clean and tidy. They had a continental breakfast, you have to pay for, that can be delivered to your room and a restaurant on site. We didn't attend those. A little pricey. Pillows were good, bed was perfect, not too soft and not too firm. Shower had soaps in a dispenser with conditioner in it, which was nice. Towels were thick and excellent. The grounds- We took a leisure stroll around on a walking trail and couldn't wait to see where it led us, it's so beautiful. Areas where you can sit by the fire and have family or romantic time. It was so neat to see all of her records, I didn't know she had so many. They had a Cornhole play area along with a playground on the walking trail. Rocking chairs were very inviting for us overlooking the pool, so relaxing. Indoor pool- the indoor pool looked inviting but it was closed by the time we got there to it, they have a disabled lift in there as well. Outdoor pool- looks amazing, we will have to come back in the summer for this... We also noticed they have a camp for kids there with activities during the day..looked super cool , if you have kids. We're going five stars on this place and we haven't yet spent one night here. We just checked in this morning. That should tell you something. It started off a little rocky, I ain't gonna lie. Their reservation lines are not 24 hours. I called around 9pm with some questions about our res and was met with the dreaded, "We're sorry, our reservation office is closed...." Frustrating. Anyway, once we got to the property, it was all unicorns and rainbows. Everyone we had contact with starting with the valet dudes were friendly, helpful. Front desk same. Very accommodating. Rooms were nice, clean. So, other than that, why the five starlings? Without getting too specific, there was an error/miscommunication made on our reservation. One that could have really put a SER-EE-OUS damper on our stay. When we brought it up, it was handled. They made it right. Dolly would've been proud. That was the overall theme during our stay. Everyone very willing to help. Other stuff. Pool area is nice. There is also an indoor pool. They have an on site restaurant that has breakfast and dinner buffets on certain days. Room service available. Also, laundry facilities are available on the lobby floor. Detergent/dryer sheets available for purchase. Free shuttle to Dollywood and the water park. Plus, you get free Dollywood time saver passes as a guest. All in all, the customer service/hospitality here was top level. Nice stay. With most large capacity resorts, you're just one of the throng. The rooms are very clean and the staff is very friendly. Also, the game room does not work very well. My son and I spent two great nights at the resort during my son's spring break. We checked in on a Wednesday and checked out on a Friday. The rates are from cheap, especially during spring break. The resort was fully booked online, so I had to call and they said the only two rooms they had available were a king suite and one more expensive than that. I called several times leading up to our check-in date to see if a smaller (and cheaper) room had opened up. Everytime, they told me nothing was available except for the more expensive room. I will say, though that our king suite was really nice. Spacious, clean, comfortable and came with a pullout couch. However, my son and I did not need a room that big. It was located on the first floor and had a balcony with a view of the outdoor pool. Very close to the indoor pool and game room. Speaking of the game room, I was actually pretty impressed by the size and variety of games offered. There was basketball, motorcycle racing, air hockey and more. The games only took one or two tokens and you get a lot. My son and his friends loved it. The resort has one restaurant, Song & Hearth and one fast casual option, The DM Pantry. You can also order from the pool and from your room and they all come from the same kitchen. We got breakfast from The DM Pantry one morning and dinner from the pool on our last night. The food was good, but not amazing. Decent portion and prices. The best part of the resort is hands down, the staff! They make you feel warm and welcomed from the moment you arrive. They don't offer valet because of Covid, but the bellhops offer to help with your luggage and bring them directly to your room. Every single team member I encountered - from the front desk and theme park ticketing to the server at the pool - was so patient and helpful. Everyone is masked and follows social distancing. Hand sanitizers are provided throughout the resort. I would gladly stay at Dollywood's DreamMore Resort again! read more

I did not stay here, but came specifically for the cinnamon bread available in the Pantry. We waited about 20 minutes for a new delivery of cinnamon bread and during that time, we enjoyed rocking chairs on the back porch, taking photos by the front fountain and viewing Dolly's record covers downstairs. Booked an air b&b and it didn't work out. Had to find a place on a Friday night at 9:30. DollyWood had some openings and was just a little more than what we were going to pay. Room was comfortable and clean. They made the bed every day and we got fresh towels. There were lots of things to do and the staff were all super friendly. It's their version of 5 star but unless you're a close neighbor, I can assure you it's a 3 star at best. This is a very country hotel that lacks 21st century style and ambiance. We had a suite that was unusually small and it had a very weird shower set-up. Water is guaranteed to get on the floor and you'll be using towels to clean it up. They need to take up all of the carpet in the rooms. Not only is it aging, it's dirty. There was some sort of red stain on our carpet. I showed it to an employee in housekeeping who said it was kool-aid. I asked if they could get it up. She told me to ask the front desk. Front desk said they would have someone get it up, but that never happened and no one seemed to understand why. If you need extra washcloths and towels, be prepared to wait. I was told that housekeeping don't get in until 9:30am. We saw two restaurants onsite. The one upstairs closed early and we couldn't get service from the one downstairs. The plus of staying here is they give you free Fast Passes to Dollywood to lessen your wait time in line. They also have a free shuttle to the park and the shuttle takes you to the front so you don't have to walk far. That is definitely a neat perk. The employees are also very friendly but like many businesses, I think they're trying to get their groove back from the pandemic. All in all, this is not my kind of hotel. I think the price is too expensive for what you get. I was really surprised at how small the suite was. They're in the process of building a new resort which may be better. But until then, I suggest getting a cabin. For the same price point, a cabin will have more space, better style and in some cases, better amenities. Depending on the time frame, the cabin may be even cheaper. This resort is way too expensive to have to walk over nasty carpet and kool-aid stains!! read more

We couldn't wait to get back to this resort. We started coming a few years ago and haven't missed a year since the beginning. When I came in the front door I immediately felt like I was in a Christmas movie. All of the lights and Christmas spirit fills this place. They have an amazing all you can eat buffet and cool bar so you don't have to leave if you don't want to. There is an arcade for the kids. I enjoyed a day at the spa, pool and jacuzzi. There is a smore night that we also enjoyed. Walk around the property for a pleasant time and some exercise. There really isn't anything bad to say. Everything is wheelchair accessible and ability friendly. There is a new resort being built next door that I can't wait to visit next year 2023. Go ahead and book your trip! read more

We went here around Christmastime. The atmosphere was REALLY nice. There's Dolly Parton all over this hotel, whether it's the outdoor or indoor decor. You can see a guitar statue with her iconic butterfly on the outside, and on the inside, she has so many albums. We left our swim suits at home, but the pool had an accessible chair and was heated. The common areas are beautiful and well-kept. When we came, there was a man handing out free cider. We didn't like it, but the thought is there. They had a beautifully decorated tree in the center, and even near the dining hall, there were table games. Our room was beautiful. The bunk bed was a little scary, not really any hand rail. The bed was soft and cushy. Our room view wasn't exceptional, I'm sure the nicer ones are much more expensive. Much like everything else at Dollywood, our rooms were clean and the experience was magical. There was so much detail put into everything, down to the toilet paper being stamped. We found an event where we could roast our own s'mores for free. It was chilly, but nice! They also had bedtime stories by the fire, but we weren't looking to freeze to death. The arcade, while interesting at first glance, looked like a lot of the prizes weren't worth playing for. When we went back up to our room, we ordered room service and we got a medium pepperoni pizza. EXCELLENT. Very cheesy, flavorful sauce. The crust could've been a little crispier, but PERFECT! The trolley ride to the park was a major plus and a money saver. It wasn't a hassle to get on (given, that could've been bc of the weird time we went). I cannot recommend the DreamMore enough. Everyone was so warm and friendly during our stay. We visited during the off season so it was less crowded than normal, which I loved. There are rocking chairs everywhere so you can just relax and enjoy the environment. They have a lovely garden/outdoor area with a pool, fire pits and cornhole (which my 91-year-old mother greatly enjoyed). The room was very nice and I have to give a special shoutout to the black cosmetic washcloth. You get a trolly to the park and a free Timesaver band. I would definitely stay there again! read more

So, so Freaking happy to attend the 2022 Dollywood VIP Flower and Food Festival! Five stars are not enough for this experience. Quality is over superb and staff was just exceptional. Such a wonderful time from when you pull up to the front door in the trolley, to the time you check out. 1st time here but will be a weekly stop for me. The gourmet food menu chosen for the event...oh my goodness...delish! ! Just the exciting atmosphere, pool, s'more fire pit makes the Price amazing. Came here for dinner and it was very delicious. It is served as a dinner buffet and the offerings were plentiful. The pizza was good, the fried chicken was good, and the ribs were good. Not to mention all the sides which included potato salad, collard greens, red potatoes, baked Mac and cheese and much more. I would say the only things that could have been better with the food was the brisket was pretty fatty, and some of the dessert cupcakes were extremely dry. Lemme also mention the service was fantastic. A big thing for me and my family is keeping our tea glass full and our waitress went above and beyond on that as well as everything. We had a great time on our last minute one night stay at the Dream More resort. I decided to go there 2 days before arriving and was able to book a great rate on their mobile site. The main selling point for me on this resort is the shuttle service to the park and the timesaver passes that you get as a guest. Important to note that parking at the Dream More resort is free, and I believe parking at the park is $25. The shuttle goes to/from the hotel around ever 20 minutes and drops you off right at the entrance (and is heated) The timesaver passes are the basic passes and would generally set you back $60 per person. These timesaver passes get you in the fast lane for a maximum of 5 rides (which I was not initially aware of), while that may not seem like a lot, it was enough for us to have a great time and not deal with any crazy wait times at the roller coasters. My son got to do every coaster he wanted. We went over the winter holidays so the outdoor pool was closed, and the indoor pool was smaller than I expected and was not heated. Still fun to keep my son busy for a while, but not something that would push me to stay there again. Our first day there we had pizza from the smaller market off the lobby for lunch...it was delicious! Nothing fancy, but just a good quality cheese pizza (I'm pretty fussy in general, so this was a definite selling point and something we would get again). They do sell the famous cinnamon bread in the market in the lobby, unfortunately they ended up selling out on the day we were leaving and had already been to the park...so buy ahead of time, or get in the park if you know it is a busier time of year. I would stay here again but only if going to the park, to me that is where the value is (however I did not use the spa services so cannot talk to that). read more

Fantastic resort. We were so sad checking out! Trolley runs every 15 minutes to water park and Dollywood. Outdoor pool was wonderful.

Beautiful hotel, but their restaurant & food is just edible. It's a shame that they can't get better cooks/service. When you get the dinner buffet, they had roast beef & the server slices it, but they were only slicing off the end, and I asked for a rare piece because the end pieces were completely dark, no pink at all. The lady looked at me like I was a criminal. Then later on one of our friends got her to slice the middle and it was pink and juicy but they wouldn't cooperate to gave me very dry end. We pay a lot of money for the Buffet to get blah food. The "to go" stand is the same. I'm not sure who's cooking their eggs but they're all brown and way over cooked. They're premade and then they microwave them. Disappointing. read more

Dollywood's DreamMore Resort - Egg at "To Go" dining choice - Resorts Near Me - Pigeon Forge, Tennessee

Terrible value for the price, especially in March. We travelled over a thousand miles to have spring break here and I regret it. $400 a night for a very sub-par experience, touted to be a luxury experience but was not even close. The whole place was reeking of paint fumes, one of the many things which made it hard to sleep. Our room still had masking tape around parts of the trim and areas in the bathroom, along the wall, and the paint was still soft, it was easily dented/nicked. The beds were so incredibly stiff and uncomfortable!! Every sound from the hallways and other guests reverberated throughout all night long-- and I was so surprised by the mismatched scratchy, cheap towels. The rooms are extremely cramped, and half our usb outlets were nonfunctional, (which we didn't discover until the next morning when our phones were dead, so we couldn't really use the Dollywood app in the parks one of our two days there). The bath products supplied were cheap and basic. Phone messaging hadn't been set up but the phone glowed with a "message" light day and night, and could not be turned off until the resort set the system up, which did not happen during our stay. We were jarred awake by a loud alarm at 3 AM our first night there, our kids were terrified and crying, and we could not figure out what was going on-- apparently the prior residents in our room had set an alarm clock in the middle of the night at top volume, and Housekeeping failed to turn it off. Once we finally figured out what was happening and got it turned off, none of us could really get back to sleep. Made for a miserable day. When we got back we discovered that thr TV had not been set up yet so it wasn't possible to find any "guide" to channels or programs. There's a sign stating that they're being environmentally conscious for not changing the linens until every fourth day. (if you spent any time in any of the restaurants, you saw the giant volume of waste going into the trash, so I know they're not really all that environmentally conscious). The idea you're paying so much money to stay there for so little service... felt scammy. Because we were forced to share the small indoor pool with all the other guests, as the outdoor pool was not yet open despite the 85 degree outdoor temps (and we were told when we made the reservation that the outdoor pool would be open), the cramped indoor pool area was basically one giant slippery puddle down the hall to the elevators, and was so crowded and noisy, we couldn't really swim with our kids safely. The ice machine on our floor was broken and dripping and had a sea of stained towels. The community microwave was dirty and the trash overflowing. The communal restrooms were overflowing and wet, to the point that I stopped and just cleaned one myself, because so many mothers with younger children than mine were trying to navigate the wet messy chaos. The communal eating space outside the DM pantry is way too small for morning traffic, and the tables are all worn and spattered with color paints like crafts had been done there and never cleaned up; makes no sense next to $120,000 rhinestone guitars and luxury lobby furnishings. We had several preexisting maintenance issues with our room , which required hours of wait time to have resolved and received nothing more from the resort except "we are working out the kinks"! We needed to be out of our room late in the day so that maintenance could come and resolve a fairly substantial issue, that was somewhat dangerous for us when it happened and was through no fault or action of ours. Again, no apology from the resort, no adjustment to our bill. Nothing. But oh boy were we reminded again and again and again about what time check-out would be on our last morning with texts the night before and a call, and then Housekeeping pounded on our door at 7:30 in the morning. When I staggered to the door and explained that we understood there to be an 11 AM checkout time, she acted annoyed and said, "so you wanted a late checkout?" No, we did not want a late check out. We simply were planning to leave at the stated 11:00 am checkout time, which is why we had placed our do not disturb sign on the exterior of our door in the hopes of resting a little bit before our long return flight!! All in all, we feel pretty ripped off. I am embarrassed by the amount of money we spent, and wish we had just chosen to go elsewhere. I love Dolly Parton, and all that she stands for, but I have to believe she has never stayed at this "resort" as an undercover boss. I believe she would have been unhappy too. read more
