This used to be the 99 cents store. Now it's the Dollar Tree. Dollar Tree has a great selection of low cost goods for us consumers. Over the years, because of inflation and the rising cost of living, they had to raise prices. When the politicians fail to deliver their promises to lowering the cost of living, it gets passed down to the businesses and then the people. Some complain that the Dollar Tree isn't the Dollar Tree because they don't sell things at one dollar. I agree. It's one dollar and twenty-five cents or more. This isn't an isolated problem taking place in California. It's happening everywhere, blue and red. Many low budget stores are forced to raise prices when the cost of living goes up. This is why, you as the voter, if you vote, must hold the politicians accountable. Not say, I don't want to see the other party take in charge or it must be a conspiracy. When you let the politicians do whatever that want, and shout comments like it's fake, or fake news, it's you who pays the price. Not them because they're wealthy class people who make tons of money and can afford anything they want while the working class, middle and poor, pay the price and complain why life isn't fair. Calling it a scam, well, show me a place in Simi Valley, that sells a large selection of consumer goods for a dollar or less? Because right now, I can't find any. The store is clean, the shelves are stocked, and organized. You can find lots of items easily. If you're lucky, sometimes they get stuff from places like Target and Walmart, and sell them for a low cost. Now as far as customer service is concerned, you'll be lucky if there are more than one cashier. Just like the 99 cents before, the dollar tree has one to two cashiers through out the day. This location has always had problems hiring people. As always, when people get hired, they make excuses to why they can't work certain days, weekends and holidays. The burden is put on the store and us consumers have to stand in long lines, just to get out. In the end, the dollar tree in this location is a great place to shop. Grant you, they don't sell things at a dollar as it can go from one dollar and twenty five cents up to five dollars or more. But that's the cost of living today. Stop with the nonsense that you want things to change. Change only happens when you're forced to vote out the people that you generally support. Hold them accountable! Stop defending them because they represent you're beliefs. If you want the cost of living to go down, and it can, by voting out the politicians. Blaming businesses isn't the solution as they take a big hit as well and when people stop shopping, they go out of business. But as long as places like the Dollar Tree exist, there are people who need the goods for a low cost in order to survive. read more

Typical Dollar Tree, lots of inexpensive stuff. Store is clean and tidy for a bargain store. Took our 6 year old for a little inexpensive play stuff. Plenty to pick from. What set this store apart was the courteous service to every customer by the checker in our lane. The lines were 10 to 15 deep and a call for a 2nd checker hadnt brought one yet. This didn't faze Amber. She just smiled and greeted every customer and handled the long line with courtesy and efficiency. This bumped an average store rating to 5 star for great service. read more

The store is located next to a grocery outlet, in a large plaza. Plenty of self park parking spaces. Rubi was really nice and sweet. As she had finished with the person in front of us, she kindly asked if we needed any bags? They have some wine for $1.25/ bottle. I didn't get any but cheaper than a beer can. read more

We were out on a walk and decided to pop into the local Dollar Tree -- and WOW, we were blown away by how organized this store was! We've been in plenty of Dollar Trees before and, let's be real, they can sometimes feel like a Ross... disorganized, shelves half-empty, and things all over the place. But this one? Impeccable. Clean, tidy, fully stocked, and everything in its place. The manager on duty even stopped to ask if we were looking for anything in particular, and we had to compliment them on how well the store was kept. Love is in the air at Dollar Tree. All the Valentine goods are in for the 2nd week of January. There was also some Easter items. The store overall is very clean and as organized as possible. The staff is always nice and quick at this location. I usually stop by to pick up gift bags and cards. Today was a large gift bag and a card that came out to $1.88 total. read more

Great bargains on holiday decor! They get a quick supply of turnaround holiday items and display it

Not sure why I continue to torture myself with this place. I walk in and there is only 1 register open. The line from the register went down the aisle, almost to the back of the store. I don't even think the cashier was aware of the long line. I walked around the store and picked up my items. I returned to the checkouts to I find that they had actually opened a 2nd register. I get in line, probably end up being 5th in that line. The cashier then realizes there is some water spilled on the floor. He finishes his customer and tells all of us to go to the other line. I'm now probably 8th in that line. He goes all the way to the back, comes back with a mop & bucket for a small spill that could have been cleaned up with a paper towel. He finishes cleaning the spill, then reopens his line to new customers just walking up, and leaves us, the ones he sent away, standing in the long line. This is so typical for this place. It's the absolute worst customer service of any retail store. I tell myself this is the last time I'm coming here, but that probably wouldn't be the truth. Just because their merchandise is cheap, doesn't give them the right to provide such terrible service. *note that the pic is from my previous trip where I experienced the same situation with 1 cashier and a huge line. read more

Watch out for the manager there named Sam. I pointed out to her today that the food on their shelves is expired by three months and she walked away and said "oh". I then told her if she doesn't take it off the shelves which can make people sick, that I will let her corporate office know, and she told me that was a threat and called the police on me....Bwahahaha!! The true threat is allowing a person like her to manage a store and allowing customers to purchase expired food that could ultimately make them sick or die. I stopped by this Dollar Tree since it's near my work and my sister wanted me to see if they had this sesame makeup kit. I found parking easily because it's in a big plaza and I been in this plaza before when I went to the T-Mobile store. The store is like any other dollar tree so you can't expect much. The makeup aisle is on the left when you walk in but I didn't see any sesame makeup stuff. Since I was already here I also got wrapping paper and a card for my friend gift this weekend. I was also able to find my watermelon gummies which dollar tree only has now so I think the trip was worth it. read more

The older white male cashier named Jason who was working the register today at 12:41pm closest to the door was blatantly racist and also seemed to take way too much interest in the children in the store, particularly the little girls. What I really hate about this place (and not just this location. It's all the Dollar Trees) is how the cashier has to abandon the checkout line and go blow up countless balloons for some customer who needs them for whatever reason. The shoppers can stand there in line for 5 minutes or more while the cashier plays with the balloons. What a dopey policy. Why can't other employees blow up the balloons? Don't they want to make money? I'm not the only shopper who just puts down my items on the nearest shelf or even the floor when we see that the cashier isn't going to be back for a while. Looking for a step stool, gal told me where to look and there wasn't one. My sister really needed one so she can get in bed after a big surgery. I told the gal there wasn't one and she went out of her way to locate it. A million good karma points to her. This location always has very long lines. I walked in today and there was one cashier with a line stretching all the way towards the back of the store. There were two other employees to the left both just standing there and I asked them Why is the line so long and their response was they just got there. Ok 1st off this place is not will organized. The merchandise is all over the place and they don't have enough workers in the store. Also I am very adamant on the wearing of mask it's a wearing of mask during this pandemic. I saw a customer that did not have her mask on and nobody said anything. It's very important to put on your mask to keep others from being sick. Hands down the worse DT I've been too, and I've been through many throughout CA. The reason why this one is quite bad, the management. Yhe cashiers are friendly but the manager Vanessa is rude and lazy. Any time I go there and the lines are over 20 customers (which happens quite often) there is only 1 cashier, the manager goes into her office or acts like she ia busy by pretending to stock. The old manager would go and help out at the registers. Also this DT is never stocked. This was before the CV. There are always boxes and bins on carts blocking aisles. The wait in line can be anywhere from 7 to even 25 mins. There is no set up for lines so people get confused and argue about people cutting. They never pickup their phone either. I was busy loading the party supply stuff I got and other things and by the time I was done while they were still ringing me up, I looked and my total was already over $50 and I didn't have that many items! Got my receipt and saw that some were $3. Greeting cards used to be 2 for $1 but now they are 1 for $1. Still not bad for colorful cardboard I guess. Even the dollar tree is now expensive! Still probably the cheaper place to go to for balloons and other cheap-quality party stuff but be careful when you shop there and look at the prices (though I don't remember seeing prices displayed as I was not looking for them, just assumed I was buying 1.25 items). Quite disappointed as you can't really multiply everything by $1.25 anymore to know how much you're spending. Dollar tree is stepping it up . They have many things that are nice and worth your money. I walked in and saw a rack of beautiful valentines cards for a buck. They were almost as good as papyrus cards. Very impressed. I go there for my fake Kleenex tissues. I call it fake because it is as good as Kleenex tissues. Only you pay one buck instead of 2 or more or less depending on where you buy your tissues. I swear by these tissues. They are soft and perfect. They are called Scotties. Also if you want to have a movie night grab some gummy bears and endless amount of candy for a buck. You won't be disappointed. read more
