We were truly amazed at the vast collection of Native American jewelry. They also had lots of pottery, rugs, furniture, furs, books, artifacts, vintage items, and much more. It is a very big store, located in the former Valdes paint store at 1006 Marquez Place. The store has excellent owners, who really know their merchandise, take time to inform you about items, in addition to being friendly! There is so much to see, so we enjoyed browsing the whole store. Specifically, the jewelry. A worker did make me aware that they were available if I needed anything? Had any questions, or wanted to see anything up close. I liked that they didn't hover. Ask staff for the history and provenance of different pieces since so much of it is actually Native American made. We loved our experience here and the most interesting part was the trapdoor they showed us that led to a sealed up underground tunnel. Najavo Pottery was amazing but its displayed on shelves in the middle of a walkway so if you have a large backpack or bag be careful where you are walking. Along the rafters on the roof there are weaved baskets that I loved and would have loved to take home but they were too large to carry onto the plane.

You know what a K-mart is right? Well this is somehow worse. No carts in the front, the store is…read morefilthy and the isles are claustrophobic while most of their contents are laying on the floor. Not to mention that the entire toy aisle smells like someone sprayed cheap beer all over it. The floors are caked with grime, and most of the demo furniture is sticky or broken. Their is trash littering most of the displays, and I can personally attest to the fact that most of the drinks in the fridge in the front of the store have been snot rubbed by little kids. Don't go here and don't spend your money here. It's gross dirty and if you buy something here it will more than likely be broken already. If you really want to save some money, and if you're going here that's probably your priority, just use some forethought and go use the internet, or go to Wal-Mart or Target instead. That way you won't get swine flu from touching the door.

First it needs a deep, deep, cleaning and then the staff needs some basic customer service training. About the cleaning --- dusting, wiping and sweeping the floors would be a good start. Not sure if there's a cleaning crew that's responsible for this place but if there is, they aren't doing a good job. If you didn't know this it should be a concern since there are food products being sold in this store. As far as service, the afternoon I dropped in there were only two employees in the store and they only popped out of nowhere when it was time for us to pay for our purchases. I literally thought we were shopping in an abandoned store. The employees were nowhere to be found. While we were paying for our items, there were no greetings, no hellos, no goodbyes, or thanks, just a discussion amongst the two ladies of who was going to eat lunch first. We were invisible. I guess you get what you pay for.
