Empty shelves, filthy store. Had to knock on the manager's door to get someone to get a cashier and then the girl was extremely rude to me.

While it may not be a huge spot, it is filled to the brim with goods of all varieties and is certainly still a store that I can and have easily been entertained at for a while. We popped in looking for some furniture in the form of a dining table set and we ended up leaving with a candle, some outdoor lights and a cooler...none of which we were after or truly in need of. Back to the table...they had a table we loved, but they had it due to some damage on it and unfortunately the scratch was a little too deep to fix so we sadly passed. Most of the items are new in package, but they do sell second life items that feature some variety of damage. Nothing glaring, but enough to be noticeable on most of these items. Overall, The Yard Sale Store was a cool spot to spend some time on a weekend afternoon. While we do not find ourselves in Mt. Juliet too often, when we do...this place with be on the radar!

Most places only carry the 16oz versions. Although I have never really asked any questions of the staff, this place has always been friendly to me. I wish they had later hours in the evening and open on weekends, but I understand because their client base is probably not large enough to warrant paying someone to stay open later. Nashville seems to be in short supply for places like this. I'm glad Merchant Mart is here for concessions type businesses.

This place feels a lot like it... but... I don't know. Part of it is probably the location, right in the middle of industrial Elm Hill Pike. Part of it is the ambiance, which feels more like a small warehouse than a store. Part of it is the very blase attitude of the employees: they're very whatever, when I'm looking for a smile and some chitchat. They've got lots of great snacks and they're cheap cheap cheap. Stuff looks like vending food stuff and at least 25% cheaper. Loving that. There's janitorial stuff, business stuff, office supplies, that kind of thing. You can get in and out there faster than Sam's, and it's reasonably priced, but it's got a chilly attitude, and not very inviting.

Overstock Outlets are essentially liquidation/discount style stores with an ever-changing inventory that includes anything from furniture to diapers, trampolines, toys, coolers, and legit more. In our trip to this location, we didn't have a list, just a piqued curiosity of their current inventory. They had a good selection of indoor and outdoor furniture, along with a wide variety of household appliances, home decor, cabinets, storage bins, dining sets, mattresses, mowers, power tools and a mix of a few other random items. The store is in an old plaza and shows its age. The exterior isn't the most welcoming, but I will say that our experience inside was not what was expected from the outside. It was a bit better than expected. Service was friendly. The cashier/associate was helpful and available as needed. We laid eyes on a few things, and ultimately bought a smokeless wood fire pit that was around $100 after discount...which is a great price! Overall, this was our first time at this Overstock Outlet and while it may not be our last, we do enjoy their sister locations a bit better.

A young man in a security uniform comes up as we were getting out and lets my husband (the driver) know that there is no unloading and to keep moving, so those of us that had already gotten out of the car get out of the way so my husband and the other members of our party can keep moving as directed. As I'm crossing the road, an irate woman in a security uniform charges toward me and my young child, backing us into oncoming traffic demanding to know if I had just gotten out of "that car". I said yes we had, we didn't realize we couldn't unload there, but that the other young man had already talked to my husband about it and they were moving along. She then started screaming at me and sticking her finger in my face and said "WELL I'M TALKING TO YOU, BECAUSE YOU'RE THE ONE WITH THE CHILD!!" She pointed to the sign that showed we couldn't park there and had a fit about making sure I read them. Ma'am, I'm not sure if you've ever been in the middle seat of a third row in an SUV, but reading signs isn't an option from there. lol I understand that we made a mistake, but I'm not sure what you want me to do at this point when my car has driven away, I've already been dropped off and I've already been made aware of our wrong doings, but if your actual goal is to maintain the safety of your patrons, then I don't think the way you handled it aligns with that and I'm thankful to the cars that stopped while you were "trying to protect us" by backing me into the road, but I digress. I'll be honest in saying that I didn't know if this woman was going to make physical contact with me, and if I was going to have to protect myself and my child from her, and I was already putting my body between her and my 5 year old. Meanwhile, my husband drove further down the lot to where there were no more signs, and let out the rest of our party and my other child. Apparently even there he wasn't able to unload, and upon seeing this, the eccentric woman walkied to another security person"We have 3 adults and 2 children that have just unloaded and they are not listening and I have told them 3 times" (which is a lie, she told us once and we listened, but then she ambushed me right after and I guess told me again, but like I said, how am I to remedy it at that point? I've already been dropped off!) The final security person, I'm assuming the one in charge, arrives on his 4 wheeler, and lectures my party for awhile on "listening to security, and that we will get kicked out if we don't". He came on strong, but after we apologized and let him know it was our first time and that we didn't realize we had made a mistake, he softened and seemed to maybe understand that we weren't trying to be disrespectful rule breakers, but that it was an honest mistake. This encounter kind of ruined my day, as I'm not used to being in situations like the one I was with the lady. That, I can get over. My concern is, as I've pondered over if I want to leave a review or not, I've read other reviews across Google, Yelp, and Facebook, and have come across many other instances in the past 4 months that sound just like ours. In one of the reviews, the owner responded and said that while the signs are there for a reason and that they will stick by that part, the aggressive nature of the security will be addressed. Since that response, there have been three more instances that I have been able to find, and that's not even including the ones that probably didn't even leave a review, which tells me these concerns aren't actually being taken to heart, or that they aren't even being addressed. My suggestion is to create an area where elderly, disabled, or those using ride share (like one of the reviewers), are able to be dropped off. The drive area is plenty big enough to adjust to make it more accessible. Perhaps having someone with a level head that can manage traffic could also help with what seems to be a recurring issue. Might help keep the blood pressure down on those security guards too if they aren't having to constantly go into fight mode.

Because of the name, I guessed the Idea Hatchery was a shared workspace or a writing collective. It *only* took me [redacted] years to get out of my car and walk in to see what's what. Flanked by an antiques shop and an art gallery (if you've done Tomato Arts Fest you know right where this is), the collective's appearance is a bit nondescript but that makes the discovery all the better, no? Inside the threshold are eight uniquely (east) Nashville businesses. As an incubator, the Hatchery is a perfect spot to test out concepts and gain sea legs before opting for a bigger location or an expanded footprint. It's a great go-between from online/out of the house to stand alone brick and mortar. I believe this is the spiritual parent to the Shoppes on Fatherland. Right now the current occupants tend to skew a bit 'female' in what they do (fashion, art, etc.) but that's not to say that there isn't a lot for a number of demographics to choose from. Selfishly, I'm hoping that some sort of food/treat business takes up residence in the shops. Toffee? Taffy? Shaved Ice? I can keep going folks. Actually, an old-timey, regional candy store would fit in well. Boom. I just found your newest tenant. Sort of. East End has a lot of fun businesses to explore. Next time you're in the neighborhood, scoot just a bit past that (locally) famous intersection and get a taste of what the area has to offer. I think you'll enjoy what you find. At the very least, it's a nice way to pass the time on a lazy weekend day.
