I happen to be out in Santee and needed some items so I stopped by this Dollar tree and found it to be very acceptable. I got some of what I needed if not all. All Dollar trees are about the same except some might be a bigger than others. Overall I used to prefer the $0.99 only stores but unfortunately they have now all closed. One good thing about Dollar tree in general is that when I travel, I can find them wherever I go and buy temporary supplies for my traveling so I don't have to carry everything was me on the plane and it's cheap enough I can leave it behind for the housekeepers in the motels to have when I fly back home. read more

I was in there today getting a couple of things before picking up my grandson from preschool and I noticed I was getting late and hurried to the checkout. No one was there . I waited a little bit and a young man with long brown hair came to the checkout. He said , "Is that your cart?". It was mine and he gave me a big lecture about how I needed to move it . I moved it and didn't answer him as he kept talking and told him I'd handed him 100 dollar bill. He said I needed my manager. As I was in a hurry, I waited while he had a conversation with someone he knew and then said , "Can I have my money back please?" Thinking it's going to take a long time and there was no manager coming yet. He then said ," You don't have to be rude." I was not rude . At that point I was taken back by his behavior and said , " I wasn't being rude I have to get my grandson from preschool." He than scolded me and said you don't have to be loud. . I wasn't rude and I wasn't loud. This was the worst representation of custom service I have ever seen. WHO DOES THAT? What happened to the customer is always right? Went to Dollar Tree today (Lakeside CA) bought a 5x7 picture frame for one of my grandson's holiday pictures brought it home open it up was trying to put the picture in it and the glass broke after cleaning up vacuuming the floor I took it back to Dollar Tree. the woman at the counter said she'd replace it this one time but it's at your own risk I said what do you mean she says well at a dollar 25 you take your own risk with it I ask her if that applied to everything in the store and she said yes I said wow. This is a "Buyer be aware" situation. I purchased a small stapler to carry in my car at Dollar Tree a few days ago. I found it to be defective in that it would not push the staples down/out to fasten items together. In immediate need of a stapler I ended up buying another one somewhere else. Two days later I went back to the store to return the defective for my money back. SURPRIZE! Dollar Tree does not give your money back. It's policy is either an even exchange for the same item or your money can be applied to another/other purchase. Granted, it's just a buck, but I had already made all my "Dollar Tree" purchases two days before. I stopped by here the other day for some basic items. I've been to this location a few times and I always notice that it's clean and stocked well. I was mainly looking for a Mother's Day card, but I decided on some candles and office supplies as well. They had lots of great Mother's Day items including, cards, balloons, water cups and picture frames. All the employees are always very friendly and helpful anytime I come. I understand that it must suck to work here, but there is no reason why their employees should be so rude. Amaya was greeted by someone and rudely responded saying she didn't want to chit chat. I've been to this Dollar Tree several times. Its convenient to pick up last min picnic items on the way to Lindo Lake. Nothing spectacular. On the pro side they have a great sellection of items for a buck. Watchout on some occasions Ive got same items for 88 cents at Walmart. One bad thing is that if they have an item you really like you better buy a half dozen,they run out of things and you never know when they get more.Well I was ready to wrap this review up but my review is only about average length. The big tall bald guy name Ryan is a wonderful manager (I think he is the manager) if not he sure does communicate to customers with pride and a smile, its relaxing talking to a real ,down to earth person while paying for my things, I did notice a chubby dark haired kid sitting down acting like the boss while this nice guy ryan did anything needed....I guess he understands when ur a manager it means more tasks to do, not less like this other loud kid with the unibrow... Usually have no problem with this store HOWEVER today one customer filled two baskets to the top and behind him was a line of people. As the line grew the cashier called for help. Crickets ....then someone called her on the phone and apparently she was on her own! Then there was a question about the hundred dollar bill the large order paid with so she called AGAIN!! This time a woman who I guess was the Supervisor came out with another employee. Line still huge so after the blessing was given on the hundred dollar bill the second employee stated stocking shelves!! Hello long line!! How about opening another register ? the lines are pretty horrible here. so bad that we had a woman decide the line was too long and going too slow so she left the store with her arms full of merchandise! the rest of us customers were shocked she was so matter of fact about it. "this is taking too long. !@#$ it." and she walks out. there was only one cashier, very young, doing the checkout so i ask to see the manager. she asked why because the manager was on break and would help with the line as soon as she was done. i told her it wasn't about the line. so the manager comes storming out of the little room at the front (there was another employee in there too.) i tell her there was a woman at the back of the line. . . and then she interrupts me by raising her voice telling me she is required to have a break and that she will help with the line as soon as she is done. i have to put my hand up and tell her i wasn't finished speaking and explained that the woman was frustrated with the line and left with an armful of items. and that maybe having another person at the front lane or moving the only employee to that lane would help with stealing. this manager (in a very loud and rude tone) tells me, "well its not my problem. it happens. what do you want me to do about it?" i couldn't believe it. so rude. so much attitude. so little customer service. the "office" is mirrored glass but you can see the silhouette of the people there. so all the customers see that one person is managing a line 12 people long and 2 people are on breaks. then rudeness when a customer wants to speak with management. otherwise, the store is very well stocked especially with school and craft stuff. the seasonal things at the front are always plentiful too. just make sure to bring some extra patience and thick skin for the people working there. read more
