My friends took me to this HomeGoods for my first time and I am considering coming here for all my home goods needs. This store is a lot smaller than the one in Mission Valley but it's so much more organized. Like all stores everyone is really friendly and helpful, they didn't have the ghost rug I had been searching for, but I did come home with a gold wire basket and some spider web plates for Halloween. This store never disappoints. Lots to look at. It's like an upscale Ross or Marshall's minus the clothing. Food, furniture, dishware, pillows, blankets, holiday decor. I recently bought 2 wood carved pumpkins and one metal cut jack o lantern. Then i found some toffee dipped pretzels at the register. All for about 45$. I'm so happy. Prices are great. I returned it and the cashier put it back on the shelf (I watched her walk right over) i wanted yo talk to the manager but another employee said she'd take care of it. Be careful buying appliances from Home Goods. I tried to return a broken air fryer to the Fletcher Parkway location. Granted, I didn't have my receipt with me, but according to the manager, it wouldn't have mattered anyway. I was told that according to store policy there are no returns accepted if an item is not in its original state, so basically I"m stuck with a broken air fryer that I've had for 3 months. It's an off-brand air fryer that I was not familiar with. I wish I had bought the Dash air fryer instead because the quality is there. I dont trust the quality of items at Home Goods, and from now on will no longer be purchasing any major appliances from them . read more

I went into buy a bunch of stuff to decorate my home office. I found a lot of things that I really liked and added them all into my cart and asked the lady if I could park my car somewhere and fill up another cart. She was so inconvenienced by my request. I finally got to the checkout and paid for my loaded shopping carts and I got home and the same lady that was inconvenienced double charged for items and the phone number on the receipt doesn't even work! Paid over $150 for an artificial tree, against my better judgement. It barely lasted longer than 30 minutes before the base collapsed, rendering it unusable, and the tree fell over. There were no decorations even added. When we tried to return it less than 24 hours later, the store refused to refund the item and would only offer store credit. We didn't want another cheaply made Chinese POS. Complaint filed with the BBB and we're contacting NBC7 Responds to get our money back. Disputing the charge on our credit card as well. I cannot recommend this location enough. It is not often that I am this impressed with a chain retail store, and yet here I am writing this review, overwhelmingly thrilled with not only the selections available, but the incredible customer service as well. I am personally a huge sucker for anything Halloween related, and they have amazing selections in spades: decorations, storage containers, blankets, pillows, candles, and even furnishings and accessories for pets. A few of the prices were a little steeper than I would think reasonable, But for the most part everything listed was acceptable or even stellar. The customer service was also equally notable; the staff and manager were all very kind, patient even as we were the last customers in the store that night eagerly dragging a cart's worth of Halloween items up to the front checkout, and attentive. Found out yesterday that despite CA law, cashiers and managers can charge you whatever they want, even if the price on the label is clearly marked. I picked up a Christmas garland, the last two of it's kind on the shelf. The first one I saw did not have a price, the second had a red tag marked 40 cents. So, I grabbed both and intended to purchase both with the idea that they were 40 cents each. When I went to the register, I put them both on the counter and realized that the first one actually did have a red tag. It was marked $5. I told the cashier that I would buy both even though one was marked for more. This was our conversation... Cashier: "You can't have this one for 40 cents." Me: "Why not? It's marked 40 cents and you have to honor that." Cashier: "No I don't" Me: "Yes, you do, that's the law." Cashier: No I don't. I will go talk to the manager." She then spent quite some time away. When she finally returned, the 40 cent red tag had been removed and a $5 tag was in it's place. Me: "That's not right. This one was marked 40 cents. You have to honor the 40 cent tag." Cashier: "It's not 40 cents, it's $5." Me: "If I came up here with just the garland marked 40 cents you would have given it to me for 40 cents." Cashier: "No I wouldn't have." The conversation continued and she was far more rude than this. Any employee of any store knows that you MUST honor the price as marked or advertised. I did not purchase the garlands. BUYER BEWARE. This location is a newer one, located on the side of the parkway plaza mall. It's fair large and has a lot of high end items for cheap. Jasmine provided excellent customer service helping me with a purchase and a return. The employees are friendly and knowledgeable. The store is clean and well organized. Love that things are put together by color which makes shopping easier! They have everything from home decor to food items to furniture and pet needs. This place is one of the most unique stores in east county! The products they carry are not only extremely affordable- but gorgeous! I'm in there at least once a week. They have everything from draperies to kitchen appliances and all more beautiful and reasonably priced than the major retail chains. The staff is exceptional. I was very disappointed this morning that staff allowed another customer to pull a canister out of my hands and grab and snatch my arm. An employee witnessed it and did nothing. But in addition to that, when I spoke to the manager he did not seem concerned. There were multiple witnesses, one employee and another customer. The other customer went with me to him. Rigoberto still allowed the customer to leave with the item she assaulted me over and also spoke to her in another language that I could o understand. I love all HomeGoods in general. It was my first time going to this El Cajon location. I visited last weekend with my friend who needed to get some stuff for his new apartment. They have designer brand items like Kate Spade, Tommy Hilfiger, Tommy Bahama for their shower curtains lol they were around $16.99 which is not bad at all. I loved looking at all their Holiday Decor and kitchenware, I can't wait to move out and have my own place! I'll for sure be filling it up with decor from HomeGoods! read more

My family and I have spent a lot of money at the store. That will not be the case any longer. I made the mistake of purchasing a large expensive beverage serving container. When it broke after one normal use I tried to return it. Only to be told by the manager he would not return it because it could not be resold. what?!?! When I asked him about their policy and whether this applied to any other defective item he said "yes" they would not return defective items How is this possible? Any other store would make it right and exchange the item. Unfortunately this means my family and I will not be spending any more money here. So... don't get me wrong, I love Homegoods, but this particular location is a FIRE HAZARD! Let me explain (story time): The lamp selection at this store is sparse, so naturally there was only one style I liked and I couldn't find a price tag on it.....until I looked at the lightbulb to find the scorched remnants of it! I looked at the other lamp of that type and lo and behold, another price tag in the bulb, by the look of it more recently placed there... Just had a terrible experience at this store. My mom bought a Xmas item a few days ago and decided to exchange it today. She lost the receipt and mind you, she does not do returns at all. So when she gets to the register the employee sees our return and states she has to ask her mgs since we didn't have a receipt- completely understand and we wanted store credit for the returned item with tag attached. But the message Silvia Schlock comes over and says she refuses to return it because the description of the item in their system says silver and the item had gold on it. Like seriously? It was a $29 item with HG tag attached and all we wanted was an exchange or store credit. She was very rude, loud and made us feel fraudulent. All HG items don't have descriptions, all they have are numbers of codes and prices, so how is it our fault that they labeled it wrong?! The lines were long, she kept refusing not even wanting to ask for a 2nd managers opinion until we forced her to. Then another mgs Gilbert Signals comes up and asks what happened. During this time im with mt 2yr old son standing next to my mom at a register thats close but has the cashier drawer till full of $100 bills sitting right openly at the counter for anyone to take. I tell both managers to come here and look.... if we wanted to pull one over on you we could have easily taken these $100 bills. But its integrity and we are honest people. But Silvia was completely rude and she felt as if she was being racist towards my mom which is Mexican and a senior. Im very disappointed at HG and we did make a formal complaint to corporate. These times right now are very stressful with Covid, elections, recession etc. And to be treated thus way is unacceptable. I guess this review stayed in my drafts but I will never shop here at this location thanks to Nancy (tall oId white lady) I was patiently waiting for her to finish her conversation with another customer so I can ask her a question. Around 3 minutes go by Im still waiting, she clearly recognized him from a previous shopping experience bc she was asking about how did his tree decorating go. She finally acknowledges me and looks like I pestered her and says "Um? Is there something I can help you with" eyes me up and down! I just asked her where the table cloths were and she motions her hands towards god knows where and says "oh some where over there, and like behind you". I like this store but they are not enforcing the mask ordinance. They have a sign on the front door but when I asked an employee how strong they enforce it since someone was walking around without a mask they said they can not confront the customer for their own safety. In that case they should have someone at the door. They say they can't have someone at the door since corporate office hasn't enforced the ordinance either. I like browsing HomeGoods, which is a TJX company. If you go to TJMaxx in Santee, you'll find their household goods section greatly reduced, because I think most of the stuff goes to HomeGoods now. However, their prices are quite high for a discount place. For example, hand towels cost about $5.99 there, which is the same price you can get at Target or even JCP on sale. Granted, the HomeGoods might be a "designer" name, but they are usually seconds, meaning there is some small flaw. A board with hooks for towels in it cost $19.99. A white bathroom cabinet that is crookedly put together cost $40 on markdown, which is about what it costs to buy it new and not crooked at Home Depot. They also have lots of random furniture items, like a wicker full-size motorcycle replica that costs $200; or a $300 Indonesian lounge chair. I did not find the furniture to be high quality. On the day I was there, every rug in the rug aisle was pulled out onto the floor. I couldn't get into the aisle to see the curtains on the other side. While I understand that it was probably due to a messy and inconsiderate customer, it's somebody's job to straighten that up in a pretty timely fashion. When I stood in line to buy the two things I had, there was one cashier and 10 people lined up. She said everybody went to lunch. It was around 3 pm. I observed two additional personnel near the front, one greeter and one person who went behind the registers without opening a register. Nor did the cashier call for backup. Eventually another cashier showed up. I almost didn't buy the items, just because of the wait, but I wasn't in a big hurry. The wait was around 10 minutes. read more

It's HomeGoods! Woohoo! LOVE this place. I'm not much of a shopper and I still love it! I found a nice lightweight folding pet gate by Animal Planet that runs $50+ elsewhere, for $29.99. And really some cute Easter bunny hand towels, only $5.99 for a 2-pack. My friend found a pack of (genuine) Keurig organic coffee K-cups, $7.99 for 16, that will work in her Keurig 2.0 machine. She was happy. BTW, I like this location WAY better than Point Loma. More professional employees and parking is so much easier, too. The thing about HomeGoods is you gotta buy something when you see it...don't think you'll go back and find it another day. Just buy it - and return it if you have to. read more

They offer home decor, kitchen supplies, bedding, rugs, furniture, candles, pet items, children's toys and a few food and snack items. Great prices on Vanilla extract, Pure Maple Syrup and Flavored Vinegars and Olive Oils. They are always getting new merchandise so I go often to make sure I don't miss anything I "need" Watch out you can spend a lot of time looking around in this store so be sure you go when you are not in a hurry. Jumped up in Home Goods to grab some bathroom necessities. I tend to forget about HG and how much good home goodies that are in this store. I also forget about how much they discount their items. The only thing that is a bother at this HG location is how the store always looks like a hurricane has ran through it and wait during checkout. I literally waited 15 mins to checkout for my 4 items. This store had only 2 cashiers open and I was 8th in line when I walked up. I recommend that more staff helps when the checkout line gets over 4 people. However, it is hard to complain when the goods are discounted at a great price. read more

"Manager" Jazmin Guman is extremely rude and unprofessional. First of all, we go to check out BEFORE the store even closed, which we were only there late because their hours are incorrect online, and to top it off, their machines were glitching. Two of our cards declined and we had to pay cash, and when the cashier asked miss Guzman the machines were ok, she didn't even bother to ask what the problem was or look at it, then both the cashier and miss Guzman proceeded to imply that our cards didn't have enough to pay because the "machines were ok". And don't get me wrong, I have worked in such jobs before and I hate to do this, but honestly tonight was a bad experience. I still work in customer service and at no point do I treat my customers that way. It is just so extremely rude and disrespectful to imply that one cannot afford to pay for something, especially after one of the purchases being made with card went through and the cashier then smirked at my sister in law after saying that her machine was workingand making it seem like the cards and banks were the problem ?!?! Don't come here "just to browse" because I can guarantee that you will find something to take home. This place is like an emporium of all that is home and garden. From the kitchen to the patio they have something for everyone. We went in looking for new dishes and we left with a whole new set for our living room and kitchen not to mention wall art for my bedroom. Not to mention we destroyed the pillow section... Sorry HomeGoods, but in our defense all the good ones were on the bottom of the piles! This is a really nice place if you want to redecorate on a budget. Ok, I've been to other Home Goods stores and knew I would get in trouble when one opened in my neck of the woods. I resisted until tonight. I had already been to Target, Walmart, Bed, Bath, and Beyond, and Khols looking for yellow or gray cloth napkins. Last stop, Home Goods before going with plan B. Well they had them and several options so I bought three packs. I resisted the fall decorations, almost bought a ceramic Scotty, but remained strong. Will surely go again.
