We usually pick up online orders at this store, mostly water enhancer because it's less expensive than anywhere else. The employees tried to help when my husband went to pick up our order. Apparently, it was placed somewhere where it was difficult for someone to grab - up super high (?). Unfortunately, my husband had to go back to get our order and, even then, it seemed like they're unfamiliar with the process. Otherwise, the staff is always pleasant and ready to help. read more

The dollar tree in Alpine has great employees. Liliana, Gloria, Nancy, and Kathleen are the friendliest females with awesome customer service! I always feel welcomed and get greeted with a smile. They are also helpful even when it's busy. Great customer service comes first to me wherever I shop and this dollar tree has it. read more

My boyfriend felt badly that only one gal was working by herself. Yes, things happen, call outs, etc. Purchased 5 balloons (already inflated) for my friend's birthday. We surprised her at the Viejas Bingo Parlor. Two balloons detached from the ribbon and flew up into the rafters. Never had this happen before. read more

Happened to me several times lately and this morning was ridiculous. Six people standing in line I have a hand cart full of candy ask the girl stocking candy if somebody can help she continues to stock candy ....I wait a couple minutes go back to her she's clearly disturbed so I put down my candy and I walked out. Who maybe was the manager was standing outside stocking artificial flowers, so I said the same comment to her she looked at me like I just spoke to her in a foreign language. I understand the prices are cheap I fill my candy bowl at work daily and I've been shopping at the store for years... I have always had to wait ridiculous time in line and now I'll go to Albertsons where at least they'll open up another checkout stand I might have to pay the higher prices but I'm done dealing with these people at this store read more

appears there is a serious lack of desire to help customers in this store. during busy hours there is often only one or two cashiers and the other employee(s) are usually in the warehouse or in the managers office. the office seems to be a popular hiding place as there is a one-way glass window (?) that is apparently there so the manager can see the store from an undetectable location. in the event there is additional help- the cashier does not turn the checkstand 'open' light on and there is confusion and even confrontations among shoppers. steer clear of this place and use the other dollar tree stores nearby for better service. the older lady they just hired is helpful and nice, but i feel sorry for her having to work there. read more

This Dollar Tree is less then 5 min away from my home, super convenient. But because it is the closest Dollar Tree near by for most, a lot of items sale out quick. So that's the bummer, you have to come on the right day when they get new shipments, I'm still trying to figure out what the better days are since I am new to the area. I shopped here on August 10 and was horrified that the only employee in the store, who was running the register, had a horrible cough. Yes, she was wearing a mask but he cough sounded terrible and she should not have been working! Now I need to worry for two weeks about whether or not she has Covid 19 and to what degree I may have been exposed. No one should be at work if they are sick! Where's management on this health and safety issue??? I would like management to follow up on this issue and find out why this woman was working with the public and obviously sick! read more

Just a few years old now the cleanliness and unique shopping experience dropped like FB IPO. As you enter, the setup of the store has not changed in the least. Holiday/Seasonal items up front and to the right, then children's goods from the right to food items to the left. A great little escape from the nearby laundromat or to walk off your pizza or burger experience of the nearby restaurants; but it is almost as though they have given up on cleaning anything or taking pride in their building. Now that the Corporate focus has moved to another grand opening this location has fallen way of every other stereotypical dollar store. While still a popular stop for special occasion balloons and quick fixes, I just can't see myself shopping here as I would have when it first opened. Obviously the price point can't be beat, the parking is ample, and the surrounding businesses make it an okay one-stop shop. I'll only be using it to break my twenty into ones to use at the nearby laundromat. read more

The cashier Pam was so rude and complain that she couldn't hear when i answer her question. then when i was putting placing my stuff down she snapped and said "stop that" very rudely. Lastly complained that our debit transaction was taking too long. read more

Although the decor hasn't changed since they opened, it is always clean and items are well marked. I don't get offended if the cashiers don't yell out welcome unless they don't have anyone checking out at the time. None of the major stores do that, so I'm not sure why that offends someone. They have many excellent items for the price. School supplies are average since all the big stores are competing for everyone's business, but things like candy, cleaning supplies and many frozen items are very reasonable. I also buy most of my football snacks, holloween candy and birthday supplies as well as bday, anniversary, get well cards and other cards there. If I could get them to sell something else, I want them to sell bags of ice. These extremely hot days as well as bar-b-que weekends it would be nice not to drive down to the $.99 store to buy ice reasonably. Other stores in Alpine charge $2-3 for a 7lb bag of ice. Otherwise, I really like this store. read more

I don't frequent dollar stores that much because my experience has been dirty store, dirty merchandise, funky brands that I have never heard of and just a bunch of random stuff that I would not even buy for a $1. HOWEVER, as I was walking back to my car after taking my dad out for a burger at Fred's I noticed a shiny new Dollar Tree store and decided to investigate. What the heck...I was pleasantly surprised when I walked in the door as it was very clean and super neat. If you are a mom or dad planning a birthday party for your little one, this is the place to go. They have about 3 FULL isles dedicated to party supplies. It is seriously like a party city and with good stuff too! (as far as disposible party supplies go). They have baking goods like C&H Sugar, spices, good canned items, laundry degergent (albeit not name brand) but whatever. Have you seen the price of a small bottle of Tide? $1 is much better than $15 for the non label thank you. The staff is very nice too (and normal - bonus!) too. read more

The 'customer service' is awful here!! 9 out of 10 times I come into this store the cashiers aren't friendly. Today we were helped by Scott (I think he is the store manager). He didn't say hello or even smile at us. It was obvious to me that he doesn't like his job, or people and I don't think he wanted to be there. So many people are unemployed right now and would love to have any job, and these employees act so ungrateful. :( read more

I shop this store quite frequently. The staff at this store has always been friendly and welcoming! The other day I heard the cashier asking a customer about his puppy. She really took the time to get to know her customers. The merchandise is pretty good quality... it's only a dollar!! read more

This place is wonderful!! I just love shopping in here for little nic-nacs, and you'd be amazed at some of the things you find for just a dollar! And the employees there are just so nice, especially Holland! I think she's a manager there and she is just the sweetest girl!
