Theres always great finds here when you come to dollar tree. i always come here to buy balloons for birthday parties and other affordable cheap gifts because of the great stuff they carry. they also have really good candy selections for my guilty pleasures as well. the back to school supplies here are also cheap with decent quality as well. it may not have everything but its still better than nothing. read more

I was looking for mini photo albums on the night of Christmas Eve, and I called the Dollar Tree at this Fountain Valley location on Newhope. The cashier responded to my call in a timely manner and kindly told me that there were photo albums in stock. I was so fortunate to have found 6 small photo albums, and I have the cashier with the blue hair to thank! I wish I had remembered to ask for her name at the time. Even though there were so many people in the store that day, she was so friendly and helpful to everyone, both on the phone and at the store. Shhh! Don't tell anyone about my favorite location of Dollar Tree. It's awesome. My son thinks I'm nuts raving about a deep discount chain store, but for someone who loves to shop but doesn't have it in their budget, I'm telling ya - go to Dollar Tree! I agree with Daniel C. who states, "This location is wayyyy cleaner and more organized than all of the other stores". I came here with my son after an unsuccessful shopping trip for a Android Cruz that was in this week's ad at Big Lots right next door. I don't care how prepared and organized you are - there is always something you can pick up at a dollar store you can use around the house. I found 2x3 index cards - we use them all the time in our home. When I saw they sell Mussellman's pie fillings, I picked up a can of their Key Lime variety and a graham cracker pie crust. My favorite pie for $2. And if you need a gift bag, this store has a ton of them. I mean, if it's something you know someone is only going to throw away, why spend more on the wrapping? That way you can spend more on your gift and get the bag for $1 here at Dollar Tree! read more

Party supplies, gift wrap supplies, imitation flowers, glass vases, candy, decorations, art supplies, back to school supplies, baby gear, food and drinks, refrigerated section, kitchen utensils, baskets, trashcans, batteries, ribbon, photo frames, mirrors, beach supplies, swim masks, kites, toys, cd cases, electronics, watches, socks, makeup, bodywash, medicine, toothpaste, toothbrushes, pet food and toys, hangars, car supplies, tools, gloves, books...such a selection! My senior citizen mom went here to buy water and several other bulky items she could not carry on her own. After she paid and prepared to exit the store the cashier told her she could not take the cart out of the store. My mom said she was unable to carry the items and would bring the cart right back inside after loading things in her car. The cashier then began to yell at her saying, "I told you, you can't take the cart out of the store!" When my mom stated she did not understand the policy as none of the other locations had ever stated it, the cashier said, "I don't believe that. You'll just have to keep coming back in to get your items and load your car." Several other customers offered to help her, and eventually the cashier also offered to help, but at this point my mom was completely upset and declined the offer. My family will no longer be using the store at this location. Although this notes I am in San Francisco, I actually live in Fountain Valley and it is the location on Newhope, in the CostCo shopping plaza. read more

Well I came here for balloons the other day. They only had the big silver balloons for $1. Decent price i suppose but i needed plastic ones. When I found them I asked the employees if i could inflate them with helium there. They said no. Dont know why not but thats freakin lame. So I left and went to Party City. So I came here for a quick holiday shopping for wrapping and such. I wasn't able to find packing tape, so I went to ask for help and this young man Brandon helped me out. He is such a efficient worker and he is so precise with his words. He actually went out of his way, while at his register, to go to the back and grab some tape for me. Just his positive energy and how he is so polite with his guests really stood out to me. I mean, come on, I'm at a dollar tree and all I want to do is give this guy the best review ever. He's such a gentleman and I would NEVER write a review on some grocery/convenient store if I really didn't mean everything I've said. I'm so shocked I even received such service at a dollar tree. The store is well organized and clean. Products are hit or miss depending on shipments of items so you won't always find the same items. They stock based on holidays and special occasions which is helpful for party supplies. The workers are helpful when you ask them questions, however, they may not know where specific items are and point to aisles where those items may be at so you may have to do some hunting. The greeting card section does not have all occasions so it depends on what they stock. All in all an inexpensive experience to find basic items. read more

If i had more creative ideas, I'd come into this store. There's so many things I would love to purchase but there's just no time to look at everything. The store layout is pretty much the same at other Dollar Tree locations. I prefer this place over $0.99 store (cause it smells much cleaner.) I did go in to purchase balloons and got distracted about 5 times before reaching the party supply aisle. I had to restrain myself from purchasing something I don't need. I bought 23 packs of ornaments on Sunday 11/26/2017. Two days later, I wanted to return 16 packs. According to policy, they accept exchange only. But they only accept exchange 5 packs. I showed them return policy written in the back of receipt which stated that I am eligible to return all 16 packs and if they don't let me return all 16 then I will get help from Dollar Tree manager. Until then, they let me return all 16 packs. I will not come back to this Dollar Tree location. Dollar Tree workers at this location need training. They must follow company policy. They cannot make up their own policy. read more

Love this place, I love having to come to this store and not having to worry about pay so much for one item. This store has it all. Its located in a nice area and it has a wide variety of things for your everyday need. I also love there huge range of balloons and gift bags. The one star is for my experience, not the store. I love going to Dollar Tree. I love buying my greeting cards--birthdays, Christmas, etc., in that store. But my experience with the cashier today is nothing to be desired. I bought ten greeting cards. While checking out, I noticed that she put one envelope on the side. I asked her, "is that mine" pointing to the envelope. She said i got one extra envelope. I asked if I can have it anyway just in case she miscounted (I knew i got ten cards and ten envelopes and who would want to drive 12 miles roundtrip for an envelope). Not wanting to go home with one missing envelope, I counted them before I left and I told her I am missing one envelope. During this time, she was ringing another customer and there were a few customers in line. Instead of just giving me the envelope, she told me to go around so i won't hold up the line. I gave her everything so she can check herself. She just made the other customers wait. While counting she made a mistake cuz she handed me two cards and one envelope. After counting the cards and the envelopes, she knew i was right. And all this for one lousy envelope. read more

This Dollar Tree is super cleaned, well organized and well stocked than most other ones that I have been to. The workers there are really helpful, friendly and welcoming. Especially Brandon the manager. I came in the other night 12/13 to do some last Xmas shopping since I was at Costco and Ross. Linda and Brandon were super helpful even though they were busy with customers. There was a incident that happened while we were in the store looking at Xmas wrapping papers. (I'm not going in detail with what happened) Linda and Brandon handled the situation really well and still was able to be fast and friendly at the register and with the customers. Props to them for multitasking. They are awesome. You guys stop shop at this Dollar Tree. I highly recommend it. read more

I like this place for the candy aisle alone. $1 Bottle Caps, Runts, Sour Patch Kids, Reeses, Jelly Flop Jelly Beans, and more. They're the large size boxes you'll find at theatres. Some of their locations carry produce. I like to go to the outdoor ranges from time to time and will raid their produce section for targets. Melons, canteloupes, and 3 liter soda bottles make the best targets. read more

For some reason I like Dollar Tree more than $0.99 store. even though Dollar Tree does not carry the same type of items as 99 cent store, but the quality of the items here are much better than the quality of 99 Cent Store. It had the usual great Dollar Tree stuff, but customer service was lacking: nobody was at the registers, and when I picked one to stand by and an employee eventually came out, she told me flatly that only the line with the lit up number was open. This is my favorite Dollar Tree location so far! I've been to different ones in the area and some in other cities but this one has the most selection and the store size is decent. Also one of the cleaner stores. I like to come here for 2/for 99¢ birthday cards, wrapping paper etc. It's also good for cheap arts and crafts tools. When it's around a holiday season, I like to come here to get some decorations as I don't want to spend too much on decorations and won't feel bad when I throw them away. read more

Came here on Sunday at 6pm and it was closed!! They were supposed to be open until 8pm like every Sunday, nothing posted on doors, staff inside checking their phones, looked at us, didn't bother to even post something on the door to let the customers know why the early closing. read more

They have the greatest things and they close late. I normally come here for vases. Until...i discovered the back section that I've never been to...party bags. All different sizes...even the HUGE ones are a dollar. If you're throwing a party for your kids, definitely come here. I totally got ripped off at target! This is by far my favorite location to visit. I have 2 that are closer to home but I take the extra 20 minutes each way to come here. Every time I come in, either by myself or with my husband, I'm greeted right away with a friendly, "Hello! How are you today?" The store is always clean and organized which is amazing for a dollar store! I can't tell you how many I go into and nothing is ever in the same spot and there is more stuff on the floors than the shelves! One of my favorite things is their frozen desserts, they always have a great selection from little cakes to popsicles to fruit pot pies. You can get the exact same things at the grocery stores but not for $1 haha. Every time I'm in there is only one register open but the cashier does a good job of keeping her pace and getting the customers through the line quickly. I've never had to wait more than 5 minutes to pay. I would be careful with some of the cleaning products though. I normally buy my cleaning products at Walmart but I was short on cash this time around and needed some. I got the high traffic carpet foam that comes in a red can, soon after I used it and dried up all the foam and vacuumed the area I noticed my dog had a bunch of high raised bumps on her nose. She had just gone over to the area I cleaned. I am not 100% sure the bumps came from the carpet cleaner but this has never happened when using my other products and she didn't have the bumps before. The bumps went away by the next morning and they didn't seem to be bothering her, she was still her normal crazy self but would stop to itch at them from time to time. read more

I come to dollar tree for the craft section. This one is ok for the craft section but the one on Bristol has a better selection.

No stars. Poor customer service. Went there couple of months ago to get balloons for my daughters birthday. When I went to my car one got inflated. I went back and there was only 1 checker. Told me to step aside and she would help me. Nope never called anyone or came over herself she kept checking people out even the ones that barely where waking to the check stand. I went to this dollar tree today the store is nice and clean but this one employee named Laura she was very rude and so unprofessional she was bossy and yelling she was stocking but was slamming the merchandise I asked her if she could help me find a item and she walked away and ignored me. So I asked another employee Yousef to help and he did he was excellent he knew where everything was so very professional great attitude so when I was ready to cash out Yousef helped me he asked how my day was going wow then when I was finished he asked if I wanted the receipt in the bag or if I wanted it again wow so professional and I told him what happened with Laura and he apologized for how she acted and that he would do something about it and I believe him ,and I noticed another woman there I believe her name was Linda she was also very sweet and nice to the customers I'm giving 1 star to Laura and I'm giving 5 stars to Yousef and Linda if I could give more I would I will different I will definitely return but something needs to happen with Laura she should not work there I don't know why she hates her job so much read more
