My best friend and I are huge Hello Kitty fans, so when we found out that this Daiso location had a big inventory, we went to town! We each spent over $100, couldn't resist all the cute stuff! This location definitely carries more Hello Kitty goodies than the one near my house. I think we spent over an hour inside the store, "ooing"and "awwing" over all the HK merch! Unfortunately they closed the one close to me so since I was in the area, I always like to check this store out because there's so many cute little things here that you think you might or might not need but want to get. Most of the staff are teenagers or younger but polite and friendly. The store in a big plaza therefore plenty of parkings since it's near the outskirts of the plaza so not a lot of car traffic. Tokyo was the last port on my cruise to South East Asia n we spent 3 days there, it was cold as it was in April n I had caught Hong Kong flu while I was in HK so all I wanted was hot soup, ramen n udon all day long, they all served w wooden spoons that looked so cute. I was thrilled when this Japanese store opened, I thought I would find the wooden bamboo spoons but they didn't have it but they sure had all kinds of utensils n beautiful dinner sets as you see in the pictures I posted. I wanted to buy a lot of them but my husband reminded me we ate out almost everyday! lol . I really enjoy browsing all the trinkets they sell! All at very good prices. I went there on their grand opening and was surprised they even sold wigs, I bought one for a crazy price $25. They no longer sell wigs but it's ok I have at least 30 already I donated a few to the hospitals for cancer patients. We finally decided to buy only ramen n udon plus all kinds of snacks n chips, if you are a snack addict like I am, this place is paradise, I just eat everything in moderation, 4,5 chips of 5 different kinds after I eat my Sunkist oranges. 6/10/23 My sisters wanted to check some stuff at Daiso before heading to dinner. It was the perfect doit to get some gardening stuff. I found some labels for my plants, garden tape & ties for training the vegetables on stakes, a stack of small seedling pots for my seeds, and also picked up small gift bags & stickers. All these will come in handy for my hobbies. This is not my usual Daiso & it does look like a smaller space. The cashier, "Viet" (he said, call me "Chris") was friendly & conversant. Brightly lit, clean, and decent Daiso. Decided to drop by since it's in the same plaza as a boba place I wanted to try. Many of the cute San-X items (Sumikko Gurashi, Corocoronyan, Rilakkuma) were stocked here while they were heavily under stocked or sold out at most of the SGV Daiso locations. Managed to snag the Rilakkuma burger key chain that I have been eyeing. Very smart that the staff have ALL the cute blind boxes behind the cashier and that only when paying and asking, will you be able to purchase them. I know the Daiso around me NEVER have these blind boxes and when they do, the boxes are all messed up or already opened. Unfortunately lots of the Sanrio, Disney, stationery, and beauty/cosmetic items were cleared out and sold out here. Couldn't find eyelid tape, eyelash glue, etc that I currently need. I have wanted to get into one of these stores forever! I saw an article written about them when they first came to LA and I was super excited to explore all the fun shtuff that I didn't need but surely wanted. I FINALLY passed a Daiso store and decided to flip a you-ee and make it a mission to get in there and check it out. First of all, sensory overload, which I don't mind but because there were soooo many little (literally) things located inside and also because the packaging labels and prices are not in English. I ended up not getting anything because well, honestly, I live that "budget life" and wasn't in the mood for the surprise at the cash register. I felt like a boob asking "How much is this" every 5 seconds so I decided to zip it and just look around. Everything that I could dream of for crafting, dishes, office supplies, organizing, snacks, drinks, and even a little DIY is what I found. It felt oddly kind of Amazonish because of the varied selection of goods but also kind of like a pastel-colored Sanrio circus. Hard to explain but I really liked it! Honestly, I love going to Daiso Japan. The one near my house is smaller than this one so I enjoy coming to this one because it has more items, and it's very roomy. Though, one of the reasons why I dislike going here, is that this certain employee makes me feel so unwelcome and uncomfortable. She talked to me in a rude tone the first time I came here. I just assumed she was having a bad day and didn't think of it too much. Then I came back, and she was basically the same. She was working the cash register when I came in, on Saturday, December 4, 2021 at around 11:40am. She had the same rude tone when talking to me. I felt very unwelcome. I was reading the other reviews before I made this review, and I noticed a lot of people said they were being followed around by other employees. I guess this Daiso Japan just likes having rude and weird employees. However, I got a lot of things at this Daiso Japan, and it made me very happy. Even though my trip to Daiso Japan was a bit ruined by the rude employee, I enjoyed the items I got that they usually wouldn't have at the Daiso Japan near my house. I don't have many photos of what I got. Though, I did get this cool Rilakkuma hand sanitizer. All the hand sanitizers are aloe vera scented btw!! They also have these Merry Christmas sacks if anyone wants to pack their loved ones' presents in a sack! They come in a pack of two!! read more

Customer service here is great. I came in looking for CC Lemon, which I'd been trying to find everywhere. It wasn't in stock at the time, but a staff member (maybe the manager?) actually stopped what they were doing to help me out. This shop is on the smaller side as far as Daiso stores go, but it's still got the basics at least: kitchenware, stationery, craft stuff, household knick-knacks, cosmetics and skincare, grab-and-go food & drink, and more! If anything, I wish the snack and instant food aisles were expanded. But the foodstuff they do have is pretty good, such as instant miso soup, instant noodles, candies, cookies, chips (even American varieties), etc. This place is my go-to for cute gift bags, greeting cards, and cool little gadgets that I never knew existed. read more

We were so excited to learn that there was a few of these stores in Buena Park, CA. We first learned of this store from a Vlogger in Hawaii. We saw his video. I didn't know that there were some stores in California. So, as we made our way to the beach, we saw it, so we went back afterward. I wanted to go down every aisle and see things for myself, so I did. Many items were $1.50 unless otherwise marked with a Japanese symbol. There are signs posted everywhere. Hubby asked a clerk for clarification. In Hawaii, there was a Japanese store we would visit, and there were different things there. We were fans. Yes, there were so many neat things here, not really seen anywhere else. So, yes, we are fans of this store now too. We got a bunch of things and spent a little over $16.00. I got four storage items for the house. I wasn't sure how much I would need, so I was just taking a guess. Hubby found a stained glass looking sticking cover for a small window in our bathroom for $1.50. Hubby also found an asian drink in a can; also saw another Vlogger chug it. Hubby said it was delicious. It seems like a popular store. There were a good amount of other customers inside too. It was clean. It was bright and white. It is a good size. It seemed to have many items in stock, stacked neatly. (Disclaimer: I would not advise getting food-storage containers (glass or plastic) that have the Prop 65 Warning on it. I generally do not purchase many things with that warning, unless I have no intention of exposing myself to the chemicals. If it something that is not touching my skin or going into my body, it is fine to purchase.) We would definitely come back to check out this store again, in the future. read more

This is my favorite joint to go to for small items. I should have given it a 5-star rating. I'd like to explain that this 1-star is a single product specific. Daiso has been carrying a "Made-in-Japan" disposable insole. It was a $1.5 for a single pair antibacterial deodorant type. It was great and work beautifully. Recently, they substitute for a "Made-in-China" product a 5-pack. This new product was horrible. It crunches up as you walk in them, it wrinkles and 2 use later, they are unusable. And further, the Japanese one is antibacterial so it kept smell away but not this Chinese one. And the Japanese one are made to size but this Chinese one are self-trimming. The template provided are not the standard sole shape. So I end up to trim it 360. Horrible choice. I'm considering not buying while looking for alternative. I'm again wearing sock instead of the freedom of slip-on. So sad that corporate cost savings affect the end user quest for quality. Bring them back and I will pay a bit more. read more

This store is located at the northern end of the parking lot near the access point to Beach Boulevard. Thus, this store is easy to find and to get to. Moreover, as this location is surrounded by a exceedingly large parking lot, you will never have a problem finding a place to park. This Daiso is located in the same plaza as the Pieology and the Target, on the side with the Vons. The size of the store seemed like a medium-sized store which was about the same size as the Tustin branch, but they had a tall ceiling and some stuff I didn't see in the Lake Forest or Irvine branches, at least not recently. Like giraffe toothpicks. I decided to get a few items for an out-of-state anime freak while I was here. Surprisingly they had way more stock of the stuff I usually have to shop for at Daiso here, so I might have to drive here to get it in case the applicable person requests me to do it urgently. The line was about 3-4 people in queue, including me, and it went at a normal-to-slow speed. There were 3 cash registers, which based on the physical capacity of the checkout, was the maximum it could hold. (As in it wouldn't be physically possible to install another cash register.) One only accepted card and the other two could take cash as well. I think this contributed to the slower speed, or it could have just been that there were more people there at the time since I don't normally see this many people in the Tustin branch. They have no public restrooms. Luckily I went in the Target before I came here. There is a PokéStop outside that seems to require walking into the parking lot to touch. read more

Wow they fit a lot of stuff in this store! So far every time I went for a specific item they had it! One time I needed specialty cotton swabs and another time I needed a nice cardboard box to use for a raffle. They had both items and you can't beat the price of $1.50! Sometimes it's nice just to look around and see what other items that have that one can use. Their items range from candy to cooking supplies. They also have a lot of gardening items and toiletries. When I purchased the cotton swabs the cashier was nice enough to show me another brand of cotton swabs that were half the cost! Thank you for that! Now I go there as a regular :-) It is also very tempting to purchase candy for the office from Daiso as their candies are the best. Been trying to get the lovely missus to go into Daiso store every time we shop groceries at Von's. Today we made it in and wow, it reminded me of the knick knack stores we saw on our travels to China. Except this store is right here in my neighborhood. We were surprised as to how much was inside the store, and all at a very enticing price point. Anything you are looking for wether it is a kitchen item, or a book binder for school or even snacks and toys and pottery and plastics. So much too choose from, especially if you just went in to take a look. You need to plan ahead and have a shopping list. We had no problem with any of the staff members, in fact one stopped what she was doing to show me where I could find data cables. Yup, these cables were just what I was looking for. Ok, so these are made in China to Daiso specifications, but hey, this IPAD cable cost as much as $19.99 in some specialty stores. We walked thru every aisle and picked up several personal gift items, a couple of fun toys, a see thru plastic document holder, a wire cutter tool, and other little things that we thought were of good value. Our shopping ended up at the cashier counter and we could use a credit card to pay for the items. It was a worthwhile visit to Daiso and I would do it again. read more

Still, I like shopping at this chain because everything is so inexpensive. This is my go-to shop for cotton squares for make-up application/removal. You can get 300 in 2 boxes, for $1.50. They have little drain catchers for your sink, that are also a good buy and work very well. And if you're in need of an umbrella and are searching for a clear one, I've bought several from Daiso for $1.50 and while they may feel flimsy, they surprisingly will hold up for a long-while. read more
