Daiso is hands down my favorite discount stores! Of course, it's expected that a chain from Japan would beat out any western competitors in the same category in terms of all the CUTE and practical goods they offer. Dollar Tree, I still like you, too. LOCATION This location apparently had its grand opening on Sat, Jan. 24th, so I'm slow to check it out, but I am SO happy this location opened because it's much closer to me! I used to frequent the Daiso on Bristol , and parking at that location is a bit of a nightmare. This Daiso took over the former corner temp space that used to be leased out to Halloween stores during the fall. STORE AMBIANCE & PRODUCTS The store is shiny and new with glossy, clean white floors. The location is a bit cozier compared to the Bristol store, but very brightly lit and nicely laid out. I love going here to buy unnecessary kitchen supplies, bakeware, stationery and craft items that I don't even really need!! I just get suckered in because the selections is just too darn cute and super affordable at only $1.50 (unless otherwise stated). -__- Daiso offers super cute storage options like baskets and containers to help keep me organized. Been trying to get the lovely missus to go into Daiso store every time we shop groceries at Von's. Today we made it in and wow, it reminded me of the knick knack stores we saw on our travels to China. Except this store is right here in my neighborhood. We were surprised as to how much was inside the store, and all at a very enticing price point. Anything you are looking for wether it is a kitchen item, or a book binder for school or even snacks and toys and pottery and plastics. So much too choose from, especially if you just went in to take a look. You need to plan ahead and have a shopping list. We had no problem with any of the staff members, in fact one stopped what she was doing to show me where I could find data cables. Yup, these cables were just what I was looking for. Ok, so these are made in China to Daiso specifications, but hey, this IPAD cable cost as much as $19.99 in some specialty stores. We walked thru every aisle and picked up several personal gift items, a couple of fun toys, a see thru plastic document holder, a wire cutter tool, and other little things that we thought were of good value. Our shopping ended up at the cashier counter and we could use a credit card to pay for the items. It was a worthwhile visit to Daiso and I would do it again. read more

Store was very organized and neat. They do look like they are running low on/out of merch as they had quite a few empty shelves. I'm assuming it's due to covid and restock issues? Still, I like shopping at this chain because everything is so inexpensive. This is my go-to shop for cotton squares for make-up application/removal. You can get 300 in 2 boxes, for $1.50. They have little drain catchers for your sink, that are also a good buy and work very well. And if you're in need of an umbrella and are searching for a clear one, I've bought several from Daiso for $1.50 and while they may feel flimsy, they surprisingly will hold up for a long-while. read more

Having been to Japan 8 times since 2009, including a summer long stay, this store typifies the discount stores you'll find over there (and even on Guam). If you need small useful kitchen utensils or ladies' grooming tools that only the Japanese can think up, this is it. Pretty much a Japanese 99cent store, but their stuff is cooler and more colorful. Even the JPop playing over their system is on. If you miss Japan and can't get up to Torrance or over to Paularino Street in Costa Mesa, this is a small, perfect substitute. read more

I have no idea why I keep coming back to the store. I can honestly get the same things off of the Wish.com website at a better price or the same at my own leisure. I came to look for a specific pen that my classmate had bought at a Daiso in another city. When I got to the stationary section, I was trying to look for it but couldn't find it. I wanted to make sure I didn't accidentally glance over it so I stood there for a bit looking at the whole section. Then I made a lap around the store to see if there were any other knick knacks that I needed for the house. I ultimately ended up back in the stationary section to maybe purchase another pen instead but didn't like any of them, so I decided on just a small towel to use for my dog. During this time as I was perusing the stationary section, I noticed a male cashier who was making it painfully obvious that he was watching me, thinking I was going to steal shit. He was making literal laps around me and then not so discreetly stopping on the aisle opposing mine, exactly at the same spot where I was standing, pretending to do something over there. First of all, gas is way too expensive for me to waste it driving to Daiso just to steal pens of all things bruh. Secondly, I was wearing a sweater and leggings with no pockets whatsoever and carrying a small wallet - there is literally no place for me to steal and hide things unless he thinks I'm going to shove pens up places where the sun don't shine. Thirdly, it's not as if the aisles are solid walls, I can see between the shelves and see exactly where he stopped right in front of me to watch me - what an idiot. Lastly, if this isn't his first time in retail, then he should know better and be a little more discreet about watching customers so he doesn't end up pissing them off and deterring them from coming back. The fact that I'm not the only one to leave a review about being followed in the store is pathetic af on behalf of this Daiso. Japan is famous for their stellar customer service skills but it seems like the management at this particular store needs to retrain their staff. read more

I drove past this store to go to Vons and decided to finally just go in and look at what they had. I kept looking for prices until I realized almost everything was $1.50. It's like a Japanese 99 cents store. They have really cute stuff here and everything is clean and organized. They have pretty good Japanese candy. Some stuff you may not need, but once you see it, you may find use for it at your home. The small bowls are cute and affordable and great for smaller food items. I spent an hour here just looking at all the different things they had. So many cute small items that can be used as gifts. They accept credit, but it is a $10 minimum for credit cards. Finally a Daiso closer to me! This Daiso recently just opened up shop on Beach within the Target center. It use to be a seasonal Halloween shop, and years before that it was the Financial Partners before it moved across the plaza. I've always loved Daiso, since the first time I went to the Irvine location one. Then a bunch of them started popping up everywhere, and I was hoping one would pop up a little closer to me, rather than having me drive all the way to Costa Mesa or Irvine. This only down side to this location is that it is very small compared to most of the other Daiso locations. Therefore the selection was smaller, but it still gets the job done. I'm usually still able to get what I need and lots of other stuff I don't really need... I'll definitely be back. read more

I only tried this store and the one in Anaheim. We don't need to be a genius to find out that this company is all about making money for communist China. Maybe it's owned by China, not Japan as it claims. People can say 95 to 98 % of the merchandises are made in China with the packaging imitated Japanese's. Rarely some very few items here are manufactured in Japan; however, we can tell those might be discontinued or almost overdue in Japan and only worth a portion of 1.50 USD. And bear in mind that everything is final. No return or exchange. The pretty new company surely gets much attention of shoppers thanks to the elegance of the store lay out and design specially compared with 99-cent and Dollar tree stores. Went to Daiso to buy one item. There were two cashiers one male the other female. Both were assisting customers as my boyfriend walked in line to pay. The male cashier named Phu finished helping his customer and decides to talk to his coworker who was in a red or blue polo. The coworker tells him "hey, you have a customer waiting" and he replies back "yeah, I know" and continues to make my boyfriend wait. really?? You know that you have a customer and you choose to ignore them instead of doing your job?? Mind you that he was the only one in line at the time. The first Daiso location i've ever been to was the one in Irvine (still my FAV. location by far!) SUPER HUGE, I LITERALLY SPENT LIKE 2 hours roaming around because i was taken away of the $1.50 tags and how everything in there is uber cute! 2nd Daiso location i visited was the one in Garden Grove, excited that they were opening a Daiso near my area!! When it finally open, I was a little sad that it not as enticing as the one in irvine, but that's fine cuz they finally opened one near my area! This location is not as big as the one in Irvine, it's "aight" 3rd location in Beach... OKAY... now they're seriously popping up EVERWHERE!! and seriously i DO NOT RECALL Blockbuster --this location use to be and i mean a longggggggg time ago a blockbuster store, I'm old =) --being THAT SMALL!! this store seriously makes me depressed now... and i just wanna travel all the way down to Irvine to make myself happy again! There was this guy in red (both days I went) that stood there even though he saw us waiting in line but did nothing, while the other 2 workers were doing whatever the heck they are doing. This is only the 3rd Daiso store I've seen around. I went here for their grand opening and they were still getting organized for the official store opening. My first impressions is that this location is a little smaller than the Harbor and Irvine locations. It seems that the items sold are slightly different at this store as well. There was a lot of stuff sold here, but nothing really gave me that "wow" factor. There are a lot of plastic containers of all sorts. A lot of miscellaneous knick-nacks can be found in every aisle. I suppose after seeing other Daiso's it kind of grew on me. So I'm not really super surprised by the merchandise anymore. read more

I was excited one opened in my area but the atmosphere in the store isn't as friendly as I'm used to. The cashiers were very quiet and didn't seem interested in being there. Came here just to look around... I really like this place, a lot of interesting/cool items that are very inexpensive. I read some of the comments before coming here and multiple people had mentioned the employees were not the best. The two employees that were at the cash registers when I came here were GREAT! I had grabbed some candy because myself and my GF were going to see a movie at the cinema across the street and wanted something sweet.. When the one lady saw that, she made a comment which sparked a conversation among all of us and they were both really friendly and helpful people. I had a great experience here. The grand opening was super busy and people everywhere blocking everything. They were doing a raffle and giving out really cool prizes. I just had to come here to get some small stuff for my dog. They had a lot of stuff and fully staffed. I'm glad they opened one here because it's closer and they have been expanding. Still the same rules though.
