Yesterday I purchased (9) different boxes of candy. The chocolate candy in the box of (Buncha Crunch) did not look right. The chocolate looked old it was kinda white and dull instead of shiny and brown. So I took it back to the store with my receipt to get a new box. I showed the manager the chocolate and she said we can't take any food item back since Covid. Really???? You weren't going to put it back on the shelf so what does Covid have to do with this. I wasn't asking for my money back I just wanted a replacement. She said she can only exchange it if the candy had an expired best by date which it did not so I was not able to get another box. This is ridiculous!! If it's expired then Covid doesn't matter. It's not about the money ($1.25). It's about good customer service. I bought (9) boxes of different candy and now I won't shop there anymore. I can get the same deal at the grocery store. Smh read more

Typica Dollar Tree. There were an assortment of seasonal decor along with the basics (balloons, cards, pantry needs, etc..). I wish their fall selection was better, but I get it's the end of October and most are done decorating for the fall and getting ready to move to winter decor. Overall the store was clean and customers social distanced from each other when needed. read more

The Fairfield store should be closed!!!!!!! The last 4 times I went into the store, there was only one employee handling the store and blowing up balloons! A male customer had to bing the helium tank out to the front of the store for the female employee!! 2 kind gentlemen waited 20 minutes for he to stop ringing up the register to stop and finally blow up their balloons. I purchased one artificial flower ( they only had one and I needed more) in the $ tree store in Clifton, the manager said I could exchange it in ANY $ tree store with my receipt if I could not find any more of the same flower. I traveled to TWO other $ tree stores and they did not have more of the flower I had purchased, they also agreed I could exchange the original one flower for other merchandise. I went to the Fairfield store - they had no match to my flower - I waited 20 minutes on a line since there was only 1 employee and when I finally get to the register she tells me I cannot return it at her store I had to go back to Clifton where I originally purchased it. I told her she was mistaken and she would not listen. She was annoyed - she complained to everyone she was the only one in the store again and had not eaten since 7:30 am, it was now 2 PM. I finally left the store and called the Coporate office and spoke Thomas , store Corporate Operational Officer and he told me he would call Fairfield and tell them they were not following policy procedure that with a receipt (as written on every receipt) "they gladly exchange any opened item with original receipt" A day later I then returned to Fairfield and once again had to stand on a 20 minute line, and the same girl said she never answered any phone calls that day because she was all alone until about 2 oclock. Finally another disgruntled store worker came into the store to work. She was complaining out loud that the store doesn't hire reliable people to work there and she was fed up working there. I told her about Thomas and she said outloud in front of all the customers " that I could be making up the entire story, anyone can come up with a name and say it was the Corp store officer." They both would not exchange the one flower for another item -- they could lose their jobs they said. They should lose their jobs for verbalizing how rotten it was to work for the $ tree store and scolding me, the customer. I then went to the West Orange store when I was going for my second vaccine in the same mall. They GLADLY EXCHANGED THE FLOWER OR ANOTHER ITEM and WITH A SMILE TOO!!!! They appologized for the indifferent employees at the Fairfield Store. Corporate needs to get a representative into the Fairfield store, teach the employees store policies and how to be courteous to their customers!! read more

My wife and I went there for mylar balloons. There were 3 workers and one other customer in the store. My wife asked for some help getting some balloons filled. The woman said, "We only have what's in the cage." So basically the ones already blown up. Well, we didn't need birthday balloons and of the 20 or so blown up, 15 were birthday. We took the three purple star balloons since the other few didn't have strings on them so there was no way to get them. My wife saw balloons in the drawers and said to me, "They must be out of helium." She asked the same girl if they ran out of helium. She said, "No, we're out of balloons." We knew that wasn't true and my wife told her. Then she said, "We're not allowed to blow them up because we're resetting the store." The other two employees were building shelves so that looked right. When my wife asked again why she couldn't get more balloons blown up and the girl asked if we wanted to speak to the manager. At that point, another employee came over and said she was the manager and we couldn't get any other balloons because they didn't have any. Didn't think that lie would come back so fast. We left with our three purple star balloons and won't likely shop there again. If anyone asks me, I'll let them know that they aren't interested in customer service or actually selling you anything that takes a little effort. It's a shame because this is a newer store and you would think getting a good client base would be important to them. read more
