I shop at HomeSense for all the cool and interesting stuff that they sell here. It's a Store that carries some great one of a kind items. They sell Lighting, Carpets, Rugs, Furniture, Frames, Gardening stuff, Window Treatments, Pantry goods, Kitchen Items, and alot more. This store shares the same parent company as HomeGoods, Sierra Trading Post, TjMaxx, & Marshalls. Their prices are on the High $ide, but I suppose it's up to us to be smart shoppers and know what it is that we're buying. As for me I'll continue to shop at HomeSense for anything cool that catches my eye. read more

The West Elm of TJ Maxx concepts. Seriously--it's HomeGoods but hipper and more modernist, with a larger supply of real furniture and rugs, and substantially less kitsch. Selection is not as wide in variety as HomeGoods because it's what's left when you skip most of the kitsch. I bought a tasteful wool area rug for $30 so I'm happy with pricing. read more

I'm still not sure what exactly is the difference between HomeGoods and HomeSense. They are both TJX stores(Marshalls, TJMaxx, Sierra Trading), and are in the same shopping center, but seem to have a lot of the same stuff. HomeSense has a bit more decor options such as lighting (including chandeliers), a huge selection of rugs, chairs, tables, sofas, etc, but I've seen those things at some of the bigger HomeGoods too. I don't really see the need for two separate stores, especially right next to each other, but maybe TJX is rethinking what they want to sell at each store. That rant aside, I like shopping at HomeGoods, therefore I like this store. They have some cool things, a great, interesting, food section, and good prices. They lost a star because it is really tight! I had my son in his stroller, not even a shopping cart, and it was tough maneuvering. There isn't enough room in the aisle for someone to be looking at an item on a shelf while someone else is walking past with a cart. Cramped quarters aside, it's a nice store for home decor. read more

OMG- this is Home Goods on steroids. This is a recent addition to the Home Goods family of stores. I wished they had this place in California. My BFF and I spent over two hours in here on a Saturday morning and I purchased stuff that I was able to get into my suitcase. Believe me, that stopped me from buying other stuff that I saw but had no way of getting home. This store has more home decor items like lighting, rugs, chair, tables to choose from. Only thing, it's a bit tight to get around but if there's a will, there is a way - i.e. leave your shopping car in the aisle as you roam down the tight aisle to see what's on the shelves. read more

So I am an avid shopper at TJMaxx stores as I love a sale. This is on the high end of Homegoods. They have a dedicated wall for lamps that are on display. $20,000 sofa for $8000. Unique refrigerators. Have you ever been to a TJmaxx store and you see one piece of furniture? Well at homesense all the pieces are together. Dinning room chairs you will see 4 instead of store hopping. They have a dedicated crystal section if you are into Waterford. They have a bridal self. You are not sifting thru stores to find matching pieces. I saw the same curtains in Homesense and Homegoods but there were a better selection in homesense. There were no small kitchen gadgets like peelers or can openers in homesense. The isles are wide running from the front to the back, but in the area where the curtains are the space is very tight, its as wide as two moving carts lol. read more

I LOVE this store! They have so many beautiful things ... yesterday I went in looking for a chenille shawl to drape over my couch and, while on line, saw a beautiful area rug that I also ended up buying! And the prices are very reasonable! The shawl was $13.99 and the 9x10 Ralph Lauren area rug was $399. Then, to top it off, their sales people are amazing! I've never been in a store where the people really reached out to me and helped me get what I wanted in such a positive way! It was like being in a grown up Disney World! Will definitely recommend this store to my friends and come again! read more

Homesense in Yonkers, NY needs good management. When it opened it was quite nice now it's a hodgepodge of messy and misplaced items. Long lines, no help. A huge mistake for such a heavy traffic area. read more

Confused why TJX company thought it would be a good idea to place 2 of their home furnishing stores right next to each other, but hey, I'm no expert, just an overwhelmed consumer looking for a throw pillow or two..Stopped here for the first time the other day and left shortly after arriving. The staff here made me feel uncomfortable enough to want to cut my shopping trip early. Perhaps train your staff to greet customers and ask if they are finding everything okay instead of having them follow customers around like private detectives. Not sure what exactly was going through some of the store associates heads as they watched me, but if I was planning to shoplift some throw pillows I probably would have brought a bigger purse to stuff them in, one that isn't the size of my wallet. Extremely disappointed with the customer service in this store. Came in Friday to purchase a rug and after finding one I wanted I looked around for someone to get the rug down off of the display rack... there was one employee and he was helping another customer. Me and one other customer were waiting for him to help us next. Once he was done helping his first customer he brought her rug to the front of the store and disappeared. The other woman and I both waited for about 20+ minutes for someone to help us.. during this time I spoke to several associates and no one could help us. I then spoke twice to a manager or supervisor who simply said "we're in the middle of a shift switch" No help or apology offered. I waited half an hour without any help from anyone and finally left the store without making a purchase. Will not be returning and it is a shame, as they do have such a beautiful selection of rugs. read more

I had purchased something in another one of their stores and needed another one. I went to East Hanover to find it and I did. However the price was different. I showed my receipt from the purchase two days prior with the same SKU numbers and the refused to honor the same price. The manager was called over who was the most stuck up woman I've delt with in a store. Terrible customer service. She was horrible. Will not shop there again. read more

Wow! I could NOT wait to get there. The pics snd store look amazing!(not when I got inside) the store is packed with goodies(I give them that) over packed! You cannot possibly see anything or everything you are looking for. Whomever set up the planning and layout, awful! I have never been in such a convoluted mess . People were quite actually walking into each other, it's downright dangerous. My daughter and I were trying to maneuver , wound up in the check out line with no exit ,Come on!. The customers and ran into quite a few were very rude! Why? Well I asked. Most felt like I did . Until they rearrange this store , set it up as an appealing reason to visit , DON'T! OH!!! We must commend the whole team on their Sense of Customer Care Admittedly everyone we encountered was kind helpful knowledgeable and if they were not the right person they went and found the right person We are filling aa new apt and needed Big and little items and help with measuring We even asked an associate to hold a rug and they offered to roll it so to would fit in our SUV along with our other purchases When they realized our pile was so much Two kind and strong associates offered to load the SUV and see how much would fit and if it did not then they would hold it for us to come back They thought of all these kind acts without being promoted Not only did we get a great deal on items we had seen in stores such as Crate and Barrel And West Elm We were given the royal treatment superior customer service genuine human kindness people helping people and people who enjoy their jobs kudos to the team and to the manager that selected these associates Highly recommend the store great selections. HomeSense came to the rescue when I moved to my new place. Their furniture is nothing short of beautiful, and their selection is impeccable! When I was in the process of moving, Robert in the furniture department made my trip to HomeSense completely worthwhile. He worked with me to find the most gorgeous furniture by not only giving me suggestions and advice, but he physically moved everything to my car. This store is a mess and a half. Merchandise piled on top of merchandise literally thrown on the shelves. Think giant garage sale. And like a garage sale be prepared to rummage through piles of stuff. Unbelievable! Some of the aisles are so tight you have to step to the side to let the other person through. I dont understand this concept. Because of the poor layout and signage you'll find yourself wandering aimlessly. I will say this, the nearby Homegoods was mobbed with a checkout line at least 75 deep. Homesense on the other hand was empty by comparison and had I actually found something to buy I could have walked right up to a register with no waiting. Highly unlikely I'll be back unless this store changes its marketing technique. read more
