However little 9 year old princess convinced her brother and myself that this store was the place... We relented to her. Alas I havent been in that area much, but I do know that Spring Valley had an itsy bitsy AS. Not anymore people! Apparently they are in place of the huge PathMark that used to be there. Although the "local"s are nosy and pushy (sorry, i speak the truth) the kids heaped up gifts that were really smart and fun. My little princess had to have her "maybe" pile and the little guy was pensive adding numbers and choosing wisely. It did take a while, but I'll tell ya - what a huge selection. We walked out with so much stuff, from make your own jewelry box, hello kitty teddy that opened to a blanket, basketball, school lunch bag with a cool key chain, pens, lip gloss that I am highly considering next years budget to be $10.... Great bang for your buck.

It's always fun to visit here as you'll find all kinds of things for around your home. Prices can be fantastic or average so keep your eyes out. They have a rewards/membership program though I don't know if I've ever gotten any sort of discount. I'm particularly pleased that they've expanded their hours a bit more. During the pandemic, they started closing every day at PM. That didn't leave much time for shopping after dinner. They finally extended hours back to closing at 8PM. That's a little better. You'll find clothing very cheap and it is what it is. The quality isn't always bad. Thermals and flannels are hardy and last a while. T-shirts, maybe not so much. But for the prices, I think you'll be pleased. Seasonal items for the garden, the pool, around the yard, holiday decorations, you'll find all of that in here. Pure maple syrup is another hot item here. Watch for the sales when it's really cheap. They also have pet supplies and plenty of other home goods. It's overall a fun store!

Inside, there's typically only one register open, and the cashier is sometimes away from the front handling other tasks. Lines build quickly. Customer service has also felt harsh and moody on more than one visit. On top of that, very few items are actually $1 anymore, which takes away from the original appeal. Overall, just not a pleasant shopping experience.

There was another consignor in the shop also complaining. The only answer was "talk to the owner on Thursdays". On the day we were ready to move forward, I asked if they had any other samples in stock -- and we actually ended up loving one of their in-store options even more because it felt more timeless! We made one small customization (rounding the edges slightly), and they had the ring completed within two weeks. The craftsmanship was excellent, and the work was done right in the NYC Diamond District. However, I've been back quite a few times at less busy times so I could take my time, and I have to say there are quite a few things I really love about Lidl. Firstly, they have some amazing prices on produce, frozen products, and a lot of staples that people regularly buy. Secondly, they have great novelty items and Lidl brand items that are really good quality at affordable prices. Lastly, there are several items that are my go to items every visit: 1) the Norwegian and also the Chilean portioned Salmon is amazing and my absolute favorite item from Lidl 2) Lidl Organic Oatmeal and cereal and 3) any of the Lidl potato chips (love the dill flavored most of all). Oh, and the bakery items are really good. We recently enjoyed the blueberry muffins and loved the fresh walnut bread. While this is not a store where you can find everything you need all the time, it is a great store to add to your shopping rotation the same way you would an Aldi, or Trader Joe's. My last visit was right before Valentine's day and I picked up some cute heart shaped frozen pizzas for the kids for 2.99 -- it's stuff like that that makes this a unique store. Check it out at a calm time of day, and make sure to bring your own bags! P.S. my only feedback to Lidl would be to really have your employees be as friendly as possible. There is so much food store competition in this area and while I've never had a bad experience, so I can't take anything away from Lidl in that regard, no one has ever been above or beyond nice either like you find at a Wegmans or Stew Leonard's. There's only one register open at all times so sometimes a line goes all the way to the back of the store for checkout. There's a total of 3 workers there. One stocks shelves, one on the register and what looks like a manager who walks around the store thinking it looks good. There's freezers and fridges leaking water into the aisles. The only good thing I saw was that they had a wet floor sign up. I can't speak on the meat section because I wouldn't even think to buy meats from here. There's piles of dirt and garbage with brooms blocking some aisles. Overall I'm not sure how the health dept hasn't seen any red flags out of this place. It's a shame because it's located in a nice area.

In the growing and improving mall, on Rt 17 South near Ramsay is this TJs. There's a DSW, ShopRite, BB&B and much much more here. The parking lot gets super busy and you have to drive very carefully. This TJs is large and well stocked. Because it's in such a populated area it can get picked over quickly, so it makes sense to pass by often and early in the day. They have a large women's clothing section here and a smaller home section. Men's selection is smaller but pretty nice things. It's an upscale area and the merchandise here reflects that. Plenty of parking but it's very busy and you may have to walk. It's A-OK as one would expect from a large chain. 4F
