For starters this has nothing at all to do with the employees. They do their best to meet the demands of all the Karen's they have to deal with day in and day out . However , the issue is the line . Every time I go here there are normally only 2-3 people who are at the registers . On top of that it seems that these transactions move at a glacial speed. This to me says they are under staffed ... That being said why is this location understaffed ? -Bad Management ? -Bad Company Culture ? -Insultingly Low Wages ? -All of the above When it takes 40 minutes waiting in line to buy socks ... it usually means 1 of the 3. But seriously , higher management needs to figure out a solution for the unreasonably long lines. read more

The cashier name sam is very rude every time I come here she never places the receipt in my hand. I say hello she never speaks back and I notice she doesn't do this with other customers (different ethnicities ) . You guys really need to look into this You never who's watching or she's treating rudely!!! read more

This is one of those stores that you should only frequent if you have a healthy dose of patience. I know that bargain shopping is an art, and that you have to go far & wide to find the items you crave at rock-bottom prices. Marshalls is well-known for such deals, and yet ... A lot of the items are 1) broken, 2) disorganized, or 3) missing parts. The Clearance racks of each section are guaranteed to have at least 2 of these qualities. Housewares has some great colored bins & pillows to nicely decorate your home. They also have a random, yet extensive, selection of kitchen utensils, bowls, & decorative accents. And then there's the food. Honestly, do people buy the dry foods at Marshalls? They look so generic & dry goods don't even have expiration dates on them. To each his own, I guess. The clothing section is intimidating, even after it's separated into several categories. I've found that the clearance racks are more disorderly than the regular racks -- which I know isn't the store's fault so much as the customers'. The workout gear section is a great place to get discounted hand weights, yoga mats, & medicine balls. However, the packages are a little beat up. Some of the boxes are ripped, or open, or missing a weight, etc. It's a bit of work to find exactly what you want, especially if it comes in a pair. And the last time I shopped there, the men's underwear section had several boxes open. Two underwear 3-packs were missing one undie each. I mean, someone really took underwear out of a $12 package? Really?!?! That is sad and more than a little disturbing. The checkout situation isn't much better. Most of the employees seem joyless & preoccupied with counting the minutes until their shift is over. Ehh, it is what it is. I use to have laway on rotation at this store. Thats how fabulous the finds are. Its hard to control one's self when the designers are Kate Spade, Coach and Kors. The beauty section needs to have someone organize it several times a day but the selection is of quality brands like Shiseido. The homegood section seems to have decreased since they rearranged the store. Otherwise this is a fabulous store with friendly staff. Soon I will return to coming once a week. read more

I absolutely love Marshall's and since living in New Jersey,,I have been to the one in Bloomfield and Kearney, both are my favorite. However, I was told there's one in rhe Caldwells. So I went to check it out a couple of days ago. The selection is limited and the customer service is poor. Some of the girls looked and answered like that hate their jobs. First and last time going there. Will check out the TJ Maxx across the street. But for now, Bloomfield and Kearney Marshall's only. read more

Actually this one is better then the one near me. Mind you I took my mom for shoes. The place is clean and not a mess like other Marshall's. I did not venture to to the men's area but as far as shoes for women there is plenty. I assume they are good. read more

Went shopping for a pair of gloves. Had no idea which area to go. Flagged down an associate and she mentioned that they had limited amounts and took us to the section. By the time I got other items and stood online to checkout., the same associate rung us up. This is a large Marshalls with lots of good quality merchandise at bargain prices. read more

SO RUDE. I went into this location for a usual trip. Within the first 10 mins of browsing the area rugs, the lady interrupted and me and gave me an attitude about putting it back herself. Sorry, was it not a good enough of a job and you had to give me an attitude about it? Is that not in fact what you've been hired to do? Next, I went to checkout and there was not one single person in line. So I walked up to the register with my items and said "hi, how are you?" The lady at register seemed annoyed so I asked if she was open. She said "yeah, but I didn't call nobody." OH. OK. I won't come back primarily because I felt like I was a nuisance. Other than the shitty treatment, I made my usual trips b/c this marshalls has cute dog and baby merchandise. But Ill be staying away from now on. I'll go to the one in Little Falls. read more

Awesome shopping experience: On 9/6/18 was the first time me stepping foot in this particular Marshalls & im so glad I did because it was a great experience everything in there was spotless and well Organized & I even had the pleasures of speaking with a beautiful soul named Mrs Paulette who I think Is the supervisor there at 901 Bloomfield in west Caldwell she was helpful & kind very pleasant to interact with a pleasure I have never in my years ever been to any Marshalls so clean & so well ran like this one.. Will recommend to all my friends & family beautiful place to shop..please show your gratitude to Mrs Paulette for the work she do there running this department store the way she do so smoothly and single handedly ... This Marshalls is not very disorganized and you will pretty much find different sizes or styles on the same aisle. Sometime you will get good deals like a Kate spade bag for under $200, CK for under $70. Its worth a check out. read more

Marshalls is also a nice go-to store where you can get good deals . It's the sister store to TJ maxx they are both the same. But I do like Marshalls Mega shoe department better than TJ maxx. Because it's more like buying shoes in a major department store at the mall . Instead of buying sneakers or shoes at sales table which I personally don't like that's my opinion. read more

Great Customer Service at Marshalls tonight in West Caldwell (my favorite location). Chris R. assisted me in giving me a price tag on an item which did not have one (and as you know sometimes it can be a painful upon reaching the register) but not tonight! Chris R. was pleasant, approachable and took action!! He was back in minutes with my item tagged and smiling. Then walking down an aisle there was Dawn A. who stopped rearranging the items on the shelf and just said "Hello". We chatted a bit then I moved on to checking out with the cashier staff pumped up and painlessly moved us along. Thank You for a pleasant shopping experience and see you soon. The prices are good and they will occassionally have some nice designer clothes, but the staff is a deal breaker. They move slower than the DMV and don't have the time of day for you. Go somewhere else. read more

Only a few of the associates are nice. I remember once i had an assistant manager ring me up that did not even acknowledge me. I said hi politely and smiled, and she just looked at me with no response. After i payed I said "thank you" and she just said "uhuh". Wow! I could expect that from a regular employee but not a manager! I also hate this Marshalls because every time i go in, it is usually a mess and barely have a good selection to my liking. read more
