For about a solid decade my significant other and I used to shop at Harmon at least once a month. It was always fun checking out the neat little things in the travel section, picking up some soap that other shops did not have and picking up cleaning/laundry supplies at respectable prices. Of course, the other big draw was the use of the infamous Bed, Bath & Beyond "20% off" (and later, $50 off $25 purchase) coupons. We saved tons of money here and enjoyed the experience as well. Unfortunately, when its parent company Bed, Bath & Beyond faced financial troubles, Harmon stores were shut down. By February 26, 2023 they were all shuttered. In time, a private investor named Jonah Raskas would purchase the Harmon brand and begin to reopen a limited number of stores. This location is roughly a year old (according to the cashier). I was eager to visit it as the one being worked on closer to me in Garwood seems like it is not opening any time soon. I have to admit, going into Harmon really felt like going back in time. There was a lot that was familiar including walking in to see rows of baskets with small travel sized items. This led to an aisle with *more* travel sized items like squeeze bottles, small packs of hand wipes, small bottles of shampoo and more. The other side had snacks, making this a great aisle for impulse buying or planning a trip. As I went from aisle to aisle, they all definitely had the "feel" of Harmon from years ago. This store was incredibly clean, well organized and the shelves were very well stocked. The lighting was bright and I found everything about the store setting welcoming. That said, as I walked through the store I realized that the variety of items were not as expansive as the original Harmon stores. For example, in the men's body wash and soap area they had brands like Dial and Irish Spring, but they no longer carry brands like Cremo. Once upon a time I went to Harmon to get Cremo but now you can get it at places like Target. My guess is that in order to survive these stores have to carry the brands that sell a good volume and more "special" brands wind up getting left by the wayside. Perhaps in time they will come back. As you check out, you go through a lane of impulse buy items, mostly snacks and that really brought back memories! Overall I really enjoyed going back in time and visiting Harmon again. Abit of the magic is gone, but if I lived nearby I'd be dropping by again. read more

Be careful with joining the VIP Club. I joined and thought it was a one time fee. I was recently charged a recurring $10 fee for the VIP club and I did not authorize a recurring fee. I sent an email and have not received a response. I am calling my credit card company if I don't hear from someone soon. I do like Harmon and shop here but am not happy with this recurring charge. read more

First time back to Harmons since they closed down. Prices are astronomical for the travel items. They do not have as much as they did before. The cashier was lovely, polite and helpful when I asked a question during my checkout but she was interrupted by a very rude staff member (I assume she was the manager) She interjected herself loudly in our exhange after the cashier was unsure of the item I was asking about. I could not even locate where in the store she was when she began answering for the cashier. She had no idea what I was asking about and told me "We don't carry any of that stuff" in the rudest and loudest way, across the store. I want to stress the cashier was wonderful and I wish everyone in the store was like her. I also think prices need to come down and customer service training is necessary for managerial staff. So happy to see Harmon after all of these years. Was on my way to another store, when I caught the sign for the store. Immediately turned into the parking lot to check the store out. If you were a fan of the old Harmons, you will certainly love this. I hope one opens up near my house. read more

The West Caldwell Harmon's is always well stocked. I can get most of my toiletries here. Of course, I can get some tasty snacks like my Red Licorice too! Harmon's does offer their wonderful hard copy and online coupons! The customer service is very friendly. The store staff members will always come up to you and ask if you need any assistance. My first time shopping here at Harmon Discount. The place is fully stocked with all your needs in mind. Prices are lower than that you would usually find at Walgreens, CVS, Rite Aid, etc... Staff is very helpful. I was figuring out where to find Folic Acid and a staff came up to me and asked if I needed assistance. She directed me to the exact location to find this particular product. I will definitely return to shop at Harmon Discount the next time that I am in the vicinity. read more

Harmon is fantastic for the beauty product junkie. Shampoo, makeup, brushes, body wash, brushes, travel-sized products ... and there's even a section for those silly "As Seen On TV" things that you wish you bought after that infomercial at 4am. The reason I keep coming back to Harmon? Nail polish! They have a HUGE selection of brands & colors, slightly discounted from the normal retail price. I prefer Essie, but I'll bet they have whatever brand you love too. And make sure you pick up their flyer when you walk in the store - there's bound to be a coupon for something you need :) read more

I've been a big fan of Harmon ever since it opened back in the day. Regularly priced items are usually $1-5 less than at CVS or elsewhere. I love that. The shelves are usually well-stocked and the staff is pretty helpful. Overall a great experience. Today, however, they not only had NO candy canes, but also NO peppermint candies. That upset me a bit so they lose a star. Ok, fine, they're a drug store so candy isn't their #1 priority, but they had plenty of other candy so I am allowed to be annoyed. Definitely shop here first in town for cosmetics, drugs, etc. over CVS or Walgreens...no pharmacy but the rest is great. read more

Well-stocked. Inconsistent customer service. Just-ok prices. The only reasons I'll continue to shop here is that they have a larger selection than Walmart or the Clifton location and I work close by so it's too convenient. Mostly have found what I needed there..... Did not find one or two products I had researched online. The popular products/colors of cosmetics are usually sold out. Update: Ugh. The last 4 times that I have gone there looking for specific hair products, they did not have them. I'm very disappointed that they keep removing hair styling products from their shelves and seemingly not replacing them. Had a great experience at Harmons in West Caldwell. A girlfriend of mine recommended this store and boy was she right! The prices are great. The staff was so helpful. I spoke with a few of the workers and they were all so kind and truly seemed to want to help me. The lady in cosmetics even helped me pick out a foundation (thank you it's perfect!). read more

Terrible experience. Cashier rude to my disabled nephew he cannot wear a cloth mask due to his health issues. Did have on a face shield. Asked my sister to pay and get out of the store.
