As what you might call a vintage clothing junkie (self-diagnosed), I am forever on the prowl for…read morenew haunts in my area. Sadly, they are few and far between, so I was elated to discover Vintage Alley during a recent online search and having visited the store for the first time last weekend, I can safely say, it does not disappoint. Tucked away on the corner of Bloomfield Ave, along Verona's main drag, Vintage Alley is a veritable treasure trove of awesome vintage finds. The layout of the store allows for easy browsing, with an aesthetic that is at once cozy and chic. The merchandise is well-curated and the prices more than reasonable. The clincher for me was the exceptional service I received from Brittany. A major pet peeve of mine is entering a store and feeling pressured to make a purchase. Over the years, I've found that when dealing with small business retailers in particular, customer service often runs the gamut from overbearing to indifferent. Fortunately, I found none of these to be the case at Vintage Alley. From the moment I walked in the store, I felt at ease and appreciated the fact that Brittany made herself available to offer input and assistance when needed, while allowing me to browse at my leisure. Brittany's love of the store--and vintage in general--is evident in her style and in her nature, the latter of which was equal parts warm, enthusiastic, and genuine. I spent an inordinate amount of time debating between two purchases - a tweed blazer or Paganne dress - before finally settling on the latter and never once did I feel rushed or put upon to make up my mind. To be clear, we're talking multiple try-ons and an excessive amount of hemming and hawing in front of a mirror, with nary a complaint. On those occasions when I offered up an apology for essentially acting out the shopping equivalent of a hung jury, Brittany simply invited me to take however long I needed. After putting in more deliberation than the cast of 12 Angry Men, I eventually settled on the dress, which I can't wait to wear. In summation, love my new dress, love Vintage Alley, and can't wait to go back.

It seems to be handicapped accessible too in the sense that there is no step to get into the store. Of course, there is the curb by the street parking. It's lovely to "close the loop" and keep things out of landfills, save money, find treasures, earn some bucks too and of course support the Rotary Club and all its charities as well that they support. I've bought many things over the years and I want to thank all the hardworking volunteers. I have noticed that now the system is computerized but often the computer system is not working properly. I hope this issue gets resolved soon. This sometimes results in longer wait time to check out. Again, I realize that all the staff are volunteers and work hard and that there are many consignors, consignments to track, donators and donations to properly attend. I have not yet consigned anything to this store. They have nearly everything from designer handbags to kitchenware to clothing but only women's clothing. Some furniture as well. There are all kinds of other items too. I will be back.

For example during the winter (at the time this review was drafted) there are 2 racks full of furs coats, capes, etc they range from mink, fox, rabbit, and beaver....the price range was 60 to upwards of 1000 depending on the coat (remember some full length minks sell for 10,000s) There is also a pretty good handbag selection...this tends to range from no name bags to Gucci, LV, and Chanel This also applies to the shoe section as well.
