This location is a hit or miss for me, in my experience. I am a former employee of a Plato's Closet and I think this location does not give the fairest prices, in comparison. Also, you have to get there right when they open, unless you want to be waiting all day for your clothes to be reviewed. I am not sure if this is a staffing issue, or what. Brought current fashion items, brand new with tags to be considered for Plato's to purchase. I was told I could pick up at 1:30pm, not even 10 mins later I received a text my items were ready, I was a little shocked seeing as though their were multiple bins before my items. Went back they had chose not to buy anything, stating "these aren't current fashion we can't take them" a selkie inspired dress, a sequin jumpsuit with stars, both unworn with tags from pricey brands, more like they were plus size and couldn't be bothered. This store is not plus friendly, they often think XL or XXL are plus size. Meanwhile the racks are full of boohoo, SHEIN and fashion nova, marked at prices that are not consignment. I drove 40 minutes with my daughter to this consignment. We purchased several items, but we were interested in a purse that had no price. I spoke to the supervisor and told her that we drove far if I can leave my number or I can call and give her time to put a price on the she replied. A full bag of clothes completely turned away because they are old (um a pair of Tom's from last summer with the tags still on looked a hell of a lot better than the disgusting beat up vans they had on their racks). I don't understand their system, but it's a huge store with some deals but some things look worn out and dirty. Went to this location for the 1st time and never again. Their attitudes are poor with not just me, I observed the same dry customer services towards others shopping/selling. That's the reason for the 1 star. Attitude is everything and will cause you to lose a lot. Great size store but clearly lots has changed since I worked at Plato's over 10 years ago in my early 20s in downtown Chicago. Buying standards are low but have the nerve to pass on trendy and great quality things from sellers. I (shockingly) peeped a pair of JFG x Kawhi NBs for sale that they proved for $40 (they low balled the seller here and whoever it was didn't know better). Also, we had to represent the brand as employees and dress as somewhat of experts in the realm of fashion. Don't waste your time. Took two bags of brand new jeans and dresses in excellent condition (some with tags). After waiting for two hours for them to review the clothes in the bag, they took one dress and gave me $2.33. The very young ladies behind the counter told me the clothes was "too mature." Extremely frustrating experience. First it was so hard to shop the jeans aisles as hardly any of the jeans were put in the right size sections. Then I went to the dressing room to try on and looked up to see an inane amount of dust on the wall and there was chewed gum all over the dressing room door. It was disgusting! First off, I saw prices on stuff that was NWT that were MORE than what the original price was! This is a thrift/consignment store, prices should not be higher or the same as the original. Second, I took stuff on consignment a while ago and after a year they don't notify you that your time is almost up to use your credit; they just throw your receipt away. I was told "we have too many people....". Bull! Stop using paper credits like it's 1995. Put it all in the computer and look through to who might be expiring soon. It's not hard. All I have to say is WOW! This Plato's Closet is huge and is really nicely organized! 95% of the clothing is women's, but there's a small men's section that has some nice stuff as well! Each women's section like shoes, skirts, dresses, etc. has a really large selection, especially the smaller sizes like small and medium. Like other Plato's locations, this one is organized by size and color which makes looking through the clothes so much easier and the racks are packed! There's seriously so much to look at I'd say you need at least two hours in here to take your time and look at everything - I easily spent an hour in here today and that was me looking very quickly. There's 5 or 6 fitting rooms as well which was really nice because when I was trying my items on I didn't feel I had to rush because of a line waiting for fitting rooms, there was enough for everyone. The prices are also very very fair for their clothing, I got a cute skirt for 10$ and my partner got a men's Thrasher hoodie for 20$ which usually retails for closer to 80$. I noticed some great brands in here too like Lululemon, north face, Steve Madden, Michael Kors, etc. and everything was in fabulous condition and very trendy. My favorite thing about Plato's in general is the good condition of all the clothing and the trendy, contemporary style. This isn't a vintage storage which is fine by me! There are a few y2k styled pieces but most of the clothing is stuff you could buy in the store today which is really nice. I also found the staff to be really kind and the customers as well! I came to this store a total of 4 times in one week, which was a huge waste of gas. First time I went was a Monday. I wasn't able to sell my clothes because it was after 3p. I had arrived at 3:30 and the store closes at 6. Please be mindful, these hours don't reflect on any social platform. I went back the next day, Tuesday. This time with my autistic daughter. I wasn't able to sell my clothes because they don't buy on Tuesdays. Again, this isn't located anywhere for the public to know prior to taking a trip. They had a small sign at the register that you would only see if you were in line to buy something. (I only saw this sign in the very last day). I went back on Saturday between 12p-3p. I was able to sell my items. I didn't quite understand their check in procedure for buying so I asked one of the girls. She was nice at first, but after I explained my hearing impairment and needed her to repeat a few things, he attitude did a 180. The store has a decent selection of items. I shopped during the 25% off pre-black Friday sale. I bought a pair of fringe jeans and tried to wait for my clothes to be sorted though to use the difference to shop. The associate said I had to wait another hour. So I bought the jeans and went to another store. Not even 15 mins went by and I received a text saying my clothes were ready. ---What you guys have to understand about this location is that it's on a major highway. Once you pass it, you have to go down and around the highway to get back to the same side as the store. The traffic lights are about a mile apart.--- The store took all of my major brand name items and the items I had tags on. I received a little over $12 for 5 items. The rest of my items were rejected (6 items) in fairness, some of the rejected items were out of season, all except a pleather pair of pants, which were practically new. They had 4 fitting rooms available which had its own line. Aside from the store's regular line. Accessibility: No steps! -bring on the rolling chairs & strollers! No ASL speaking workers, most of the girls here had ZERO patience with me which was written all over their faces and came through in their tones after frequently having to repeat themselves when kindly asked & even after I explained my disability My advice, shop if you need to. Pretty good selection keeping in mind this is a thrift store. Lots of good brands like Calvin Klein, tommy, mk, kappa, Ugg, Nike mixed in with things like h and m, fashion nova, shein, usually the better quality items.Most of the bad reviews are talking about selling, but you can't expect 100$ for used clothes even with a tag they need to make profit and pay their employees, they don't resell for much, same as you can't expect them to accept everything or they would have no room to put items. read more

Cashier was kind, Can't say the same for the girl who was dealing with the clothes resale counter on Thursday September 28th. First of all why would you only accept one bag per customer? I think a store that sells thrift clothing would appreciate a customer who doesn't crush and wrinkle everything in one bag, or that separates clothes from shoes. Regardless her attitude was audacious. I requested a garbage bag as I had my items in 3 small bags. " You can go get your own " when I asked if I could put the other 2 bags in as separate orders, she refused to answer "you can go get your own bag" I told her I didn't appreciate her attitude, and she shut down. First time here, i sifted through all the chaos of clothes and people and made my way to the dressing room. I don't have allergies but begin coughing profusely and could t figure out why, then I looked around and realized I was shopping in a cloud of dust and dirt everywhere. Even the cobwebs had layers of dust on them as they floated through the air looking like party streamers. Check out that light fixture that's beneath a half inch of grime or the fact that it's " snowing" inside. Great to buy, not to sell. I found a few gems while waiting to sell my items. The process to sell was easy; you sign in, and if there's a wait, come back when it's your turn. However. You literally get Pennies. I guess it's expected, but some things I brought in were brand new with tags and was still offered pennies. I sold some men's clothes here recently and the experience was very good. The people behind the counter were friendly and helped me check in. There were quite a few sellers in front of me, but the staff were quick to process my clothes and pay me out. The store has some really cool items for sale at very, very cheap prices. Don't expect to get a lot of $ for your items as they sell low to begin with. Store was a bit unsized after weekend, but that's easily fixed. read more

The manager at this location, after trying to refuse to buy from me because I had a photo of my ID rather than the card, had the nerve to tell me that if I cursed I would be kicked out, despite me not having cursed. She gave me incredibly nasty facial expressions and was all around rude. Not sure how you get a retail position if you don't like/don't work well with people. Ijust wanted to sell my items so I could put gas in my car. According to her I would have to leave with all my items unless I had my ID card, which was told to me as I was trying to leave, after a 30 minute drive + 1 hour wait. Truly disappointed. Coming from a fashion background and I was super excited to let go of my fashion pieces and turns out they took 4 items for $15 and gave me back the rest. After waiting an hour looking through what they sell I was more than confident they would take all of it especially for the younger females. Now keep in mind these clothes are express, f21, shein, h&m, Zara, Macy's etc.... They took 5 and offered me $10. As I was walking around the store I noticed bare racks, and whatever items were on these racks were disgusting, old clothes, looked so worn, bad smell. I found out because I folded the clothes and the only the top clothes with tags were bought back and everything underneath was still folded. I had a bunch of men's designer jeans from Diesel, Express men, Clark's shoes, etc and they said they were not in style. My experience at this Plato's Closet was semi-ok I spent about $126 dollars on sweaters and 2 pairs of sneakers. The store has great finds and I will definitely go back. However, the only disappointment was that I brought in a bin full of sneakers, boots and summer sandals and they did not take not 1 pair supposedly the items was dirty and worn out. Ha ha ha, I saw plenty of items that were destroyed on the floor and customers were buying them. I will not be bringing items to sell I will definitely just show if necessary. I also wanted to buy a pair of addias boost and I couldn't find the 2nd pair. Ashley one of the sales representative checked in the storage air and all of ver the store and could not find the pair. She took my Phone number down on 11/16/2019 and todays is Monday, 11/18/2019 still waiting to hear back. I would give 0 stars if i could. I brought in 2 big bags of nicely folded clothes, a pair of Louie shoes, and a lot of other unworn clothes and shoes in perfect condition. They didn't look through the bag at all and took 1 dress that had the tag on it still, shocker. The employees dress like slobs and treat the customers like crap. When trying to sell my clothes the ladies in the front were very unhelpful. I waited 2 hours for them to sort through my things just to get my whole bag back. When asking why they didnt take anything the lady didn't respond to why, she looked at me like I was crazy. I called back to speak to someone different they proceeded to tell me my clothes smell like weed. I have never smoked a day in my life, Im an athlete in college. This Platos closest is such a joke. The place is so dirty, it seems like they never clean it there & it has that moldy smell. The store itself is unorganized there will be smalls in the large spots, and largest in small spots. I have been there at least 3-5 times at this point and I have seen shirts, pants, jackets etc all with either broken zippers or holes in the items, today I walked past a pair of dusty boots. There was only one or two employees in there that were professional the rest where mostly chit chatting while there was a line, not only that an employee was eating a bag of Cheetos in front of customers. That's extremely unprofessional & just down right gross. You don't eat in front of the customers when you work retail. Go to back in the break room. You can't even tell who is a manager in that store. It felt like when I was to ask a question that I was bothering them. I love Platos but this location is horrible, you're better off making the drive to the Ledgewood, NJ the place is cleaner, the clothes quality better & the staff is way friendlier. read more
