Everything here is $1. The nice thing about this place is you can pick up stuff you need like boxes for to wrap Christmas gifts, supplies for a picnic or little knick knacks for children who are notorious for breaking things anyway. The bad...everything is picked over and you really need to check everything over before you actually buy it. It's sort of like going to a flea market but in a store setting. Buyer beware. read more

I have to laugh at the reviews on the dollar store, I swear people come into this with high expectations, hello, its a freaking dollar store! Do you honestly expect this place to be attracting the upper crust of society when you walk through those doors? The fact that they even have a sign posted that "Food Stamps are Welcomed" should be an obvious sign that yes, there will be some shady people up in here! With that being said you will feel the need to shower afterwards, there will be a long ass wait at the checkout, and yes there will be some stuff that you get that you wonder how long it has been on the shelf for, which is why I don't recommend purchasing anything which may have an expiration date on it! With all that in mind, your experiance here should be pleasant, I come here with an open mind and usually a very short shopping list, and then I end up coming out of here with atleast $20 of precious crap! read more

Had a gift card. They couldn't figure out how to use it so we felt pressured to just pay cash. It was a busy afternoon so I can understand and forgive a slight decline in customer service. However, in my opinion, the patient customer should never feel pressure because you don't know how to work your system and don't have enough staff. Anyway, after multiple attempts they just looked at me , "I can't use the card numbers" says the manager, "call the 800 phone number." Limp-wristed handing it back to me. I called corporate, requested a refund because I don't live near a dollar tree, they just offered another gift card. I went to the Dollar Tree for sand toys. Really they didn't have much, but I did get a few buckets that came with a shovel. What more do they need? I took a few minutes and walked around. I did a quick stop here to grab a bag and some gift wrapping tissue. That was easy to get, but took longer to check out but this seems to be standard of other Dollar Trees I've been to. Went in around 9:30 AM on Thursday. The check out line was down the isle. After 10 minutes of waiting a lady opened another register, but she had strict rules regarding her line. This is the Dollar Tree I grew up with. I remember around the time it opened I think I was in middle school or high school. The space where it is used to be Dublin Buffet and they later moved out to open Great Wall Buffet next door but that closed down too :( Pretty good DT. Cashier was slow ringing the lady up in front of me even though they weren't really talking that much. Another cashier opened up another lane but they didn't bother to say anything, and I only noticed they opened the other lanes because the line behind me disappeared. By the time I got to be rung up, the other cashier had 3 customers out the door. The cashier was also not too friendly with me. The lady in front of me was greeted by the cashier, and was even asked "did you find everything ok?" but then she didn't greet me when it was my turn. I don't expect world class service every time but at least the same kind of friendly service for each customer would be appreciated. For our recent camping trip, I needed some of those glow in the dark sticks. So, during a day of errands and after a shopping trip to 99 Ranch, I went across the street. Target shopping - check Ranch 99 - check Pick up lunch - check glow in the dark sticks - ok, Dollar Tree Store is across the street. I parked and marched over, but this discount store is so discounted that THE DOOR IS NOT AUTOMATIC! I was so amused at myself because I didn't put my hand out to open the door but expected it to open for me; this mini-luxury is something we don't notice until it's not there. At any rate, while inside, I didn't find what I was looking for, but the manager on the floor went into the back and found what I needed. So, I deem the service at this dollar store to be better than most. And, I was able to cross off the last item on my to-do list with the amazingly low expenditure of $3.29 (something that would have cost about $10 at a "normal" store). For that price, I can open my own door -- thank you very much. read more

This is a nice location, neat and clean. But one thing I did not realize - they do not give refunds. Given it's a dollar store ok I get that. But I am an educator who often buys things by the case like plastic storage containers, binders, clip boards - that is rough if I can't return given all that I buy in such large quantities for my classes! Have to bear in mind when shopping there that there will be long lines 10 deep often and if you need help on the floor there isn't often anyone. OK, my preference is definitely 3.5 stars, let's get that straight. But I feel it is somewhat more pleasant than the Livermore location, so hence the 4 star review. I stopped in here after lunch one day and I left spending $9 and change (so I guess that makes nine items I purchased?). I got all kinds of good stuff -- a Hello Kitty tupperware container (jealous??) and then mostly practical stuff like sandwich bags, hair clips, wrapping paper, a lint roller, etc. But that's totally all stuff I resent buying other places (with the exception of the hair clips probably) so I don't mind forking over a single buck for it here. Maybe it's not the big name brand (or sometimes it is), but quality is usually pretty decent. This location seems smaller than the one in Livermore, so that's too bad, but I like that it's carpeted and it just seems the teeniest bit cleaner. Don't get me wrong, there's still a fine layer of dust on most things (why does that happen here anyway? ain't this cheap stuff flying off the shelves??), but it just doesn't make me feel quite as "dirty" as the Livermore location. I'm a fan of most Dollar Trees....can always find some decent stuff at them for cheap. I found some really nice gift wrap and cards here at my last stop and walked out paying less then $10 for a ton of stuff. You can find kids toys and they also have a large teacher's section with items to decorate classrooms with. It was very cool and I encourage my teacher friends to come here for some great decor for your classroom. They also have home products like toilet paper and paper towels, party supplies, hygiene products (which I wouldn't buy but they have them here!) and tons and tons of gift wrap and cards. Dolla dolla bill yallllll This location is pretty small. I usually go for cheap cards, party supplies or snacks. It doesn't hurt that it's next to a big lots either! I would be weary of the crowd tho, usually they'll only have 1-2 ringers and the lines can get long if it's busy. So go during off peak hours. before school and work get off. If you're going to be a racist person, don't make it obvious and keep it to yourself. I went there today to pick up a few items and saw TWO registers with their lights on. I walked up to the register and waited for someone to acknowledge that I was there. A woman (I found out her name was Jen) gave me eye contact twice as she proceeded to ignore me as if I was invisible and kept walking back and forth in front of me, packing and moving things and seemed to have zero interest in assisting me as her customer, so I took the items that I had set down on the conveyer belt back into my cart and walked over to the busier line. The second I moved out of line she came back to her register and helped a caucasian woman so it seemed like I was the wrong color to be given service. I am happily giving this dollar store five stars because of the service I have received the last three times I visited from one specific employee. I believe his name is Jerelle (sp?). I always seem to leaving the store smiling after interacting with him. I'm not sure if he's a manager or not, but he's a good model the store should be using when they train others in customer service. He's incredibly engaging and I've noticed he seems to interact with his customers like he's been waiting on them for their entire lives. He treats me this same way even though I've only interacted with him a few different times and over probably less than six months. I don't know him outside of being a customer there and having him be the person to check us out. It probably seems odd to give a dollar store a five star review, but I think this speaks to what great service can do even in a bare bones and mass produced/chain store environment. If not for this person, I'd likely be awarding them two to three stars based on the store's offerings and tidiness. read more

The store is always picked over, barely has restocks, it is ALWAYS a mess and they only open 1-2 registers regardless of how many people are in line. This is a fun store for party supplies and stocking stuffers. Great Value. This store has much better quality over the other smaller $1 stores. a four pack of AAA batteries for $!. what a deal. They are great and the exp. date on them was for 2012 2 pack of Colegate tooth brushes $1. Plastic zipper bags and foil sheets $1. This place will $1 you to death. There is nothing wrong with the store. Great holiday decorations, school supplies, party supplies and cleaning products. But I am staying away from the food. I was in the store last night and disappointed with how the employees handled a customer who allowed her dog to roam freely throughout the store. It was not a service dog...it was a Pomeranian---no leash---just running freely---to pee, poop, and snack on food. Customers in the stores thought the dog had roamed in from the street. When the owner came to claim the dog, got in line to check and place her dog on the conveyor belt---that is where people put their food!!!!! What the heck....this dog and this lady had no business in the store and the employees needed to say something. Everything is a dollar here, that's no secret. But what's interesting is some of the hidden gems you can find at this store. Nestled deep in the Made In China toys, which I would be wary of because some of those look like they would be hazardous to a child's health, and the generic off the wall household cleaning products, there is always a great selection of nice things. They even have a refrigerator/frozen food section and it's ok (found some packs of Sargento Mozarella and Mexican 4 cheese blend for a $1 each, WAY cheaper than the local grocery store), big 1 gallon Crystal Geyser Water for $1, and it's the place we go to buy gift bags and wrapping paper because they are so much cheaper than your local Target or card shop. You can practically take care of most of your basic needs of toiletries, household cleaning, and even food here. 3 stars mainly for the selection and the overall cleanliness, because the place really does get messy with items all on the floor everywhere, but still not a bad place to shop. read more
