I have been buying my veritable starts from Grocery Outlet the past few years. The selection is good and the prices are reasonable. They get new plants at least twice a week. The quality of the plants are good. We have had vigorous crops from the cucumbers, peppers and tomatoes every year. They also have potting soil and compost at prices lower than elsewhere. 3.5 stars. I have shopped at this Grocery Outlet a few times. The prices are not outstanding; but, some items are less expensive than other stores in the area. As long as you enter Grocery Outlet with the mindset that items are near the expiration dates (I check dates because some items are already expired so I move on), shop carefully, don't buy random items; you will be okay. I will say that I do find some pretty good deals; but, you need to really look and know your prices. read more

I really don't like leaving poor reviews for places I love. I have tried to contact the manager on Yelp to address issues privately before leaving a 3-star review, but weeks later I've received no response. The good: The prices are amazing at this location. I love trying products that I might not typically try at their higher price points. I've often found really interesting products (some are organic, and some that seem limited edition) for an absolute steal. The produce is beautiful and sold for a fraction of what I might pay at a bigger grocer. The staff is really kind and I've never encountered any rudeness. The store is always immaculately clean, including the bathroom. The bad: For months straight, this location has been selling bloated tubes of butterball ground turkey. Pro tip: do not buy a tube of meat that looks like a balloon because I can guarantee that it will not smell good when you open it. It has gone bad. For three trips in a row, I have been charged a more expensive price for one or more items on my receipt, and have had to snap a picture of the item's display price to get it adjusted. I shouldn't have to check their work every time I go there. I was double charged for a bag of tortilla chips upon my last visit, and unfortunately I didn't realize it until I got home. Again, I shouldn't have to check so carefully and study to make sure that they didn't charge me for something I didn't buy, or make sure that every item matches the price that it was listed for on the shelf. It kind of negates the money saved when I wind up being charged for two bags of tortilla chips but only bought one. I would really like this location to address these issues because I love the fun products, great prices and cordial staff. read more

Grocery outlet is so underrated! There are so many good deals here that I never leave empty handed. I come here so often that I am surprised the employees dont know my name. I stock up weekly on my Cosmic Crisp apples here! A better deal than Costco. Occasionally they will have magic spoon cereal which is awesome! The prices here are unbeatable. The main reason I make my way to this store so often are for the plants! They have such a good deal on the plants and the ceramics for them! I love seeing the mystery box plants and what they get whenever I stop by! I'm excited to see what other plants come to the store now that it is spring! read more

"Woefully Inadequate Customer Service." I like many of the products at this location. However, on this occasion , the customer service was subpar. The friendly cashier could not figure out how to ring up a clearance item, so I was overcharged 7-fold. He could not figure out what to do, so he called the manager. The manager was similarly clueless and went through every item in my bag to try to find a really high priced item, which of course did not exist. Instead of just fixing the price, they wasted everyone's time. I finally left in frustration. The cashier was also unable to ring up a six pack of beer. Other than that it was a really fine visit. Poor customer service, poor judgment. I want this business to succeed, but I think it will be difficult with this level of customer service. read more

I have shopped here a lot since they opened and really variety and prices. However, today when I was in the store, I grabbed a couple bottles of wine clearly marked $5.99 but I was charged $7.99. The manager, Jada, responded that my bottle was just more expensive. Two bottles of the same wine on the same shelf with same posted price but different years! On several occasions, I have gotten home & checked my receipt, only to find that I have been overcharged for some items. I visited the store today & was charged $1.99 for La Victoria hot salsa. I told the cashier that it was marked $0.99 on the shelf. She called over the radio, and the manager who responded stated it was $1.99. I went ahead & paid for my items, then I walked to the aisle myself. The manager had removed the sign that showed $0.99. I went back to the cashier & asked to speak with the employee she had called. He met me in the aisle. I said, "You removed the tag that said $0.99." He played stupid for a minute, and when I didn't concede because I don't care for GASLIGHTING from grocery store employees, he said, "Oh well, I was going to come up. That's what we usually do." I said, "No. You told her it was $1.99. You lied. And then you took the sign off the shelf & disappeared. You had no intention of coming up. The cashier smugly charged me $1.99. I paid and left. You know what you did." He scurried in the backroom and returned waving a dollar, but here's the deal: DON'T LIE TO ME. This is an ongoing issue with this store, and when you think about how it's $1 here & $2 there multiplied by thousands of customers who aren't watching their receipts like a hawk?! They're getting over on us, royally. Forget this store. read more

The store itself is fine. The staff are a hit or miss, with some being very friendly & others less so. But the managers are ABSOLUTELY HORRID. I observed a manager chew out a customer trying to make an exchange on produce. The customer had the receipt & was extremely professional and kept asking what their return policy was, but the mgr kept accusing the customer of destroying the product. This caused a backup line at checkout. A bunch of us in line were appalled at the mgr's behavior. I spoke w/ others & they said this is common practice. Grocery Outlet is a local, discount supermarket chain that took over the Big Lots on Amador Valley Road. Clean, organized with well stocked shelves of dairy, produce, meats, pasta, grains, sauces, frozen foods, wines and housewares. I tend to gravitate to the sauces, cheeses, pasta, nuts and wine area and they had a variety of items at a good price. Even Best Foods mayo that I saw at Safeway and Luckys a couple of weeks back for $11.99 (insert wth?) for a 48oz was $7.49 (exp: 1/2025). Deal! Definitely a great place to check out for bargain items (insert muppets singing the jingle: Grocery Outletttt, Bargain marketssss) or small gift for a get together. Shared lot parking and not an issue in the morning but can see it being difficult when the adjacent restaurant opens. read more

Specializes in sourcing items near it's sell by dates, overstocked items, items that aren't selling. Other people's lemons are sold as lemonade here. G.O. Also sells the usual dairy, breads, milk, vegetables. I usually seek "cheap" chocolates, covfefe, kombucha & avocados... The amigos are very helpful though none pointed me to where the chocolates actually were. Lines disappear quickly when new registers open. Train your staff I came into the store for 1 item but ended up with 2. There was 1 register open and another was open for what a appeared to be a regular customer based on the chat they were having. I got in line with my 2 items and the cashier looked at me and closed the register. I knew she was not going to close the lane with me in line. She later said Im closed you need to to go the the other register. This was unnecessary. I had two items. Her break was more important than my transaction. Thinking about it later I should have left the items there. This happen to be a convenience stop. No need to ever stop here again. I love Grocery Outlet and this is one of the best Grocery Outlet stores I've been too - no surprise really given how new it is. The store was well air conditioned, and it was clean and organized when we were there. The store was also super well stocked, and there were so many items to check out and to choose from. One of the things I love about shopping at Grocery Outlet is that something you find rare imported gems from Asia, Europe, or from other parts of the worlds. And they're nice items that are not something you would find in the "international" aisle at Safeway. And they rotate their products so often, so you'd find different items everytime. I went on the Sunday in the early evening , like 3 days after grand opening. First of all noticed lots of parking and the lot was repainted to avoid any confusion it shares a lot with Casa Orozco Mexican restaurant. Upon entering i noticed the aisles are really wide which is good for flow. Plenty of registers open. I forgot to use my $5 off but I can get reimbursed with the receipt which should be a problem . Not sure if I passed by the usual small candy area because I couldn't find it. There is a Dollar tree a few business down and a round table pizza , Korean wings place and Tesla charging and 2 cheap gas across. Way bigger then the previous GO in Dublin which closed because of lease expiration. Welcome addition to the area! read more

Most expensive Grocery Outlet you will visit. We've given this Grocery Outlet a few months since our initial review. This is a Grocery Outlet in Sheep's Clothing. It's more comparable to a major chain store than any other Grocery Outlet. The prices here are noticeably higher than other Grocery Outlet. One example (you can really take your pick) is a small bag of avocados. The exact same bag at the Pleasanton Grocery Outlet was $2.99 this week. The exact same bag at the Dublin store is $5.99. This store may get more traffic than the Pleasanton store, but the Pleasanton location is far better. read more

I wanted to return a pack of Manicotti (cheese filled pasta) that went bad, moldy and slimy 12 days before the expiration date. It was a $7.99 value. The owner, Harjinder Bhatti refused to even look at the product, he kept repeating that it was not his fault, he did not make the pasta and told me to contact the producer in Quebec, Canada and complain to them. ( this product is sold only in Grocery Outlets). The owner was very rude, arrogant, and obnoxious. When I told him I was going to put my negative experience on Facebook and on Yelp, he threatened to call the police and told me to leave the store. For an $8.00 product he lost a customer who spent $360.00 just in the last month at his store. I had the receipts with me to prove it but he didn't care. He never apologized or said he was sorry for the inconvenience he caused me. I shopped there all the time but not anymore. This horrible customer service cost him more than $8.00. Overall, a solid 4.5 out of 5, grand opening day and for the morning it was very busy for a rainy Thursday morning. Situated in the old Big Lots, they did some very nice remodeling and it's nice clean and fresh and appealing now in terms of the floors, interior and outside. While it's been awhiles since I've shopped at a grocery outlet, but just imagine a smaller grocery store versus a lucky's or Safeways. The aisles themselves are nicely spaced apart and it was needed for this busy morning but I think you can almost fit at least 3 shopping carts from side to side. So you don't feel claustrophobic imo. The selections aren't too bad and just enough to carry pretty much all the essentials and then some. The produce at least today was nice and fresh overall and stacked neatly. And the frozen aisles were very nice too in terms of variety and prices. On the most part, the prices are comparable to the big grocery store and in some cases much cheaper then their counterparts. While we did see some store associates, they were mainly filling the produce, next to the cashiers and baggers, they all seem friendly and polite. I would say this is a nice new addition to dublin and I look forward to browsing and shopping here off and on. read more

If you know your prices it's a great way to pick up products for less. I especially like how they open additional registers when lines get long. Other retailers don't always do the same. I had a good experience with the head management "J" positive attitude on the other hand Caesar he did some incredible racist behavior wasn't too happy about. It's a couple of other Latino guys who have an awesome attitude and great personality. Cesar lied about what his position is at this company and I was highly offended, first mistake. I came in with a serious question about public safety and he took it as if it was a joke. Told me he was a manager when I ask for one and my question was already answered. Lied about that. My first run in was I had a coupon on my phone from the app. I'm at the register and she YELLS AT me that I Don't have enough money for the coupon! I'm in customer service for over 30yrs. All she needed to say was mam you need $25 for the coupon to work. Instead she INTENTIONALLY EMBARRASSED ME! 2nd time: I asked her very nicely where an item I wanted was she ROLLED her eyes and said I don't know go find it yourself! OKAY THEN! NOW TODAY 3RD TIME! I had purchased apples 2 days ago. I've NEVER returned food so I didn't have a paper receipt. I did have my receipt on My app AND A Screenshot of my receipt! She REFUSED to do an even exchange. And in a RUDE, CONDISENTING TONE! AND AGAIN ROLLING HER EYES! I've never been treated so badly at a STORE EVER! I HOPE Whoever owns this place realizes that people in Dublin WON'T continue to shop here if she continues with her attitude! And this first episode was OPENING WEEK! Better layout and brighter than some other GO's. Wide aisles made it easy to pass several employees stocking as well as other customers. Most prices ranged from slightly lower to slightly higher than nearby grocery options with a few things that are good deals. Would've given it 4 stars, but when I got home, I looked at my receipt and discovered that 2 of the 6 items I purchased rang up at a higher price than they were labelled in the store. Item 1 was sitting in a section marked $3.99 and rang up at $5.99. Item 2 was a frozen item sitting in a section marked 2 for $5 and rang up at $6.99. Not worth a trip back to the store for me but watch your receipts for price labeling issues. read more

I shop at this store all the time. I loved it...until.....I bought some frozen dinners and got them home and they were all expired. Frozen food expires? I told the guy there about it. He cleared the old ones out - I told him I didn't want a refund - just wanted them to know. Yesterday, I bought some vitamins. I looked at the box (after I opened it) to see how many to take. These will expire in 1 week. So, I brought them back today. Laura the manager, who seemed like she would rather be anywhere than there, said she couldn't help me because I didn't have the receipt. Cut and dry, that's the rules. No, gee I'm sorry, nothing, no customer service whatsoever. Well, I saw some people on the way out and told them be careful, because the stuff is expired and they left. Was kindly greeted on the way in and out, super clean, store and the best part... so many affordable halal options! Look closely at labels on the front and backs, as a good amount are halal. I was able to pick up 10 halal beef patties for $10, ground lamb/beef, and sirloin steaks. Will regularly be returning for these reasons alone. read more

Newly opened store in Dublin and I thought I'd do some shopping there since it's a local new business. Well, I'm a unsatisfied customer. While I was checking out with a shopping cart full of items. They have the barcode to download the Grocery Outlet App to save $5 and track purchases. As I was doing so the cashier decided that the other customers were of more importance than I was to give me another minute to complete the sign up. I had additional coupons that were sent to me in the mail and was told that one was expired and the other was for meat. I purchased lunch meat but in small fine print it said fresh meat. In large red print it said MEAT. So, I could not use either of those coupons. I didn't make a fuss. I did however want to track my recent purchase and get the sign up coupon to use during checkout. I was told that other customers were waiting and I needed to hurry up and pay for my purchase which was $277. As I was walking out of the store I was able to complete the download. I decided to go back into the store and ask them to credit me $5 being I felt rushed and was unsatisfied with the way I was treated. Not only that I made the qualify purchase to use the coupon. When I spoke to the manager she wasn't friendly and told me that I'd have to return the entire purchase and repurchase in order to use the coupon. That didn't make any sense to me at all. Then she told me that she wouldn't do that and I should have downloaded the app beforehand or went home to complete the process or stepped out of line to complete the process when the barcodes are at the registers to download the app. I felt like my business wasn't appreciated and I will never shop at this location again. They lost my business for being unpleasant. I'll gladly take my business elsewhere. read more

Horrible customer service. First off, their cashier was under 18 and couldn't ring up alcohol and rudely told us to go into the next check stand so we had to split up our order to buy the wine since all of our groceries were already on the conveyor belt. Seriously why would they have a cashier unable to sell alcohol in a store that sells wine? Then, I had a $5 off of $30 purchase coupon that I forgot to use, and the under 18 cashier told me there was nothing he could do about it. I asked for the manager and he told me the only way they could give me the $5 was to return all of the items I just bought and rescan the order to apply the coupon. I told him forget it and left. I cannot believe in this day age that their point of sale system does not have the technology to override an order and give somebody $5 back when this happens.
