Stopped into this Dollar Tree store on a whim. As with most dollar stores, the choice of merchandise is limited, but this location seems to have a bigger selection than most. This store also was better organized than a lot of them. Found a couple of items that I used to buy at other dollar stores and have not been able to find them there recently. There is a small parking lot and people are always looking for a spot. It might be a better option to park on the street rather than in the parking lot. As always in a dollar store, never enough cashiers. Only one cashier was working and the line was very long. I came across this Dollar Tree while taking an alternative route towards the west side of Chicago via N Pulaski Rd. It is hard to miss its highly visible logo with green highlight. For me, visiting has become a last resort if I have not visited any of the other locations near my job upon leaving the area. Street parking is the better option rather than pursuing that hit-or-miss spot in its shared parking lot. In the afternoon, the area is very congested and if you luck up you will find an open parking spot, but best believe you will be scrunched in trying to maneuver around other vehicles in its confined parking space. Keep that in mind if you wish not to encounter any dents on your vehicle leaving you flabbergasted post shopping at this location. Inside, the aisles are nicely set up, and the shelves and items presented are far from disheveled looking in comparison to some locations that I have visited throughout Chicago, and Chicagoland. Even with no intent on purchasing, I do browse what items I typically purchase in case I need certain items and just so happen to be in the area because I am always in need for essentials like body soap, toilet paper, toothpaste, deodorant, shampoo, dental floss, dish soap, or detergent. And occasionally purchasing my most used cleaning brands like Spic and Span, LA's Total Awesome, or Fabuloso which this location has in stock. On a last note during each of my visits, I have always received good customer service at this Dollar Tree. And never do I hesitate on visiting when the area is least congested with parking spots available if I need to pick up any of my most used dollar essentials. ~Blessings~ Thomas G read more

I holla for my dolla at Dollar Tree. Sometimes I just cannot get over the fact that pretty much everything at the store is only a buck (or less!). This Dollar Tree location is on Pulaski between Argyle and Ainslie, with some parking available just north of the store. Sometimes the store gets busy at the checkout lines, but the wait can be worth it. They have an aisle that seems to be where they occasionally sell surplus goods from other grocery stores, so you can get a surprisingly lovely name brand boxed soup that would usually cost several dollars - but only a dollar here. read more

It's a dollar store. Don't get all hoity-toity on me, the Dollar Tree can make for a lot of fun... we were throwing a rather large family shindig and I had visions of a s'mores buffet. A s'mores buffet? Yes! I bought minis of every candy they had: Brach's Caramels, Snickers, Reese's, Milky Way, Kit Kats, Butterfinger... even retractable marshmallow roasting sticks. We used multiple marshmallows with homemade cookies instead of graham crackers. It was indulgent and the kids (and adults) LOVED it. While here I also purchased toys like big boxes of sidewalk chalk, cute individual bottles of bubbles- perfect to entertain the youngest kids. What surprised me was the name brand cosmetics. Yes. Maybelline and l'oreal nail decals to amuse the older tween girls! No clean up, no chemicals, and no whining. This is rare for a tween so if you are faced with one, buy these for a dollar each instead of paying more elsewhere. And for me, Physician's Formula brow wax- which sells for about $5.00 at the drugstore but here is a sweet deal at $1.00. Good stuff. They have tea lights and candles, which were placed in tall clear glass vases and lit the yard romantically when it got dark. So get here to pick up some cheap treats and bargains when you are already loading up on dollar store cleaning products (Comet, magic eraser, bleach, glass cleaner and that like...) as one does. read more

Avoid at all costs! Unless you walked to the store. The parking lot is soooooo small. Not to mention how it is set up. Any money you save will pay for your insurance deductible and lawyer fees. The lot is an accident waiting to happen. Which is pretty sad. The store is spacious and nice! read more

You can find some awesome bargains at Dollar Stores especially for party supplies etc. This Dollar Store is the closest to me but I avoid it if I can. The majority of the time I have gone, there is always only ONE cashier even though there are more associates on the floor...and the parking situation is HORRIBLE. I am not sure who manages that parking lot but besides being tiny (and sharing it with the laundromat), coming to shop here is made extremely inconvenient due to the lack of parking, even street parking. I am the type of person that would prefer to drive farther out where I know the service is better...and hopefully with a bigger parking situation so you are not competing with others for 5 spots... A very well organized and fully stocked dollar store! I came to get some wrapping supplies and was very impressed by their selection. They also have aisles dedicated to uocoming holidays- for instance, they had 2 full aisles of valentine's day stuff that would be perfect for hosting parties, and another aisle for st. Patricks day! This would be the place to go to get cheap things for decorating. Lots of disposable utensils and plates and stuff. The fake flowers look pretty nice too. Plus, they have a parking lot so it's super convenient. read more

the store on 106 pulaski may be clean, but it is NOT a good place to work if you want a pay check. manager, barb, at 106th pulaski, chicago keeps changes the schedule where you lose hours or has the hours you worked shortened on your time card because she is tying to save money for the store. she makes you come in to work when you are sick and calls you to come in when people don't come in to work. she lost 4 great workers in one month. like i said don't work at dollar tree stores if you want to make some money. read more

Yeah, it's the Dollar store -- big deal -- we stopped in here to pick up a bunch of little plastic toys, tons of candy, faux tattoos, among other things -- for 25 to 30 kids on our block. It was our 15th Annual Block Paaaaarrrrttaaaay. There were 25 houses (couples or singles) on our block who participated this year (25 out of 30 houses). We had several meetings to organize our block party. We always have a theme too. We were "in charge" of the goodie bags for the little crumb snatchers (a/k/a "kids") on our block and had a $100 budget. This store is well organized, well stocked and clean. This surprised me because some times these stores can be triple "D" (and I am not referring to "Diners, Drive-ins and Dives" here). I have found some Dollar Tree stores to be "disorderly, dreggy and disgusting," but not this store. We purchased tons of mini candies, sour patch candies, little plastic toys and colorful glow sticks (bracelets and necklaces). We also picked up faux stick-on tattoos, and even found some finger-stache (mustache) for the little boys. Even the girls wanted the finger-stache (which surprised me). The little girls got some mini-stickers for their tiny nails. They seemed excited to get these -- we even found some stuff for face painting. I was really surprised to find a face painting kit, but maybe it was meant to be used for Halloween, but hell, I used it for the little crumb snatcher's tiny faces. We had a fantastic Magician for the kids, face painting by yours truly and live music (the DJ was incredible and got everyone involved from dancing to musical chairs). The kids were on a sugar high from noon until 10 pm (I'm sure the parents were not happy about this), oh well. The kids were like super balls -- bouncing all over the place on a major sugar high! This year our theme was "patriotic" because we wanted to pay tribute to our troops. We managed to find small flags and other patriotic stuff. Several of our neighbors have sons and daughters serving in the U.S. Army and/or Marines. We used the mini flags for our community tables, which were loaded with a myriad of salads and desserts. We even purchased red, white and blue balloons and had them filled with helium. I had no idea that the Dollar Tree store even sells balloons for all occasions, like the "Party Store" and, WOW, these were a lot cheaper here! I also had no idea that they sell name-brand stuff (like cleaning supplies for the washroom or kitchen and even some name-brand cosmetics). So, I was like "WTF!" On the other hand, my friend/neighbor was like "Holy Mother Mary of God -- thank you for all the good stuff that we found here" and with that we shouted "Amen and Amen" and got the hell outta there. read more

Horrible customer service, a year ago my wife, our two kids and I went in to buy some toys and my 6 yr old son at the time had took his $150 northface jacket off and dropped it by accident, when we were in the parking lot about to leave we noticed he didn't have the jacket so we went back asap to get it but to no avail the jacket was gone. We told the lady working the register and she's was super nasty basically blaming us that it got stollen, so we asked for the manager and the manager was just as rude. We asked her if they could check their tapes to see who it might have been but she gave us some speil that they didn't have the authority to check the tapes. I was super polite as can be but something told me they both didn't like muslims. Never went back and I advise people to do the same, steer clear of this place, there's plenty of other dollar trees around the area with better customer service. Maybe these people don't work there anymore but either way if they hire people like that then there's no hope. read more
