BEWARE of the female employees at the dollar tree store location on Pulaski near Wilson. I wasn't aware that there's a time limit for browsing and shopping at that location. They get very sharky around you if you're there for more than one hour. especially the Spanish chunky chick with long hair. she has a very serious demeanor. never smiles. I noticed after a while past the one hour browsing and shopping looking, she would creep up in the same aisle I was at pretending to stock and check items at the same time spying on me. very creepy. I didn't have a basket so had to hold a few items in my hands and forearm. The other heavy set AA female employee is just as leery and creepy. It's very insulting, uncomfortable and off putting to assume someone is taking things. It is not worth my time to cater to a location with suspicious sharky employees. The other locations never shark me. very disappointed with this location, it's big bright and spacious. but it is not worth being there over 30 minutes. I tend to linger a bit longer when I haven't been at a certain location in a long while. but it is not worth it at this location unfortunately. :/ my favorite employee is not there anymore :( and she was the very nicest cheerful one, made me smile. I think I see why she's not still there. probably had to tolerate the creepy other women coworkers. zero stars for employee demeanor, lack of confidence in innocent customers. read more

This Dollar Tree is often better stocked than the other two locations in Skokie and Evanston that are equally close to our house. We come here specifically for party supplies when we're hosting events; the candles for burners are sold here and with everything being $1.25 now, we save a lot of money. They do have some higher priced items now at $3-5, but still great deals. Especially at holiday time! I love to decorate both home and office, and this is a go to stop. read more

Less clutter?!?! At the start of day, but as the day rolls on and customers plow through their doors it becomes a wasteland of strewn dollar goods. Not to say I haven't picked up one of them for purchase, from time to time. I like this store and not because they offer decent quality frozen items. Like what?! Like Smuckers brand fruit pies or Banquet brand pot and fruit pies, pizza and puffs, Popsicles, ice cream, deli slices and more! It doesn't stop there, brand name cleaners, personal products, soaps, baking sheets and my personal favorite... baking cups for cupcakes and the foil baking pans. I buy a lot of candy here, mostly stuff for the candy bowl at work. They have a large selection of decent stuff. In the front they show off their seasonal items and most often I can find a few items that would make it into my holiday mix of stuff to have for the season. Again, it's all a dollar, so why not look! I like taking the kids inside, nieces and nephews that is, give'em a Lincoln and let them go to town. They feel empowered and important with their own bags and I feel awesome for bringing smiles to their faces. read more

Who doesn't love dollar goodies? I'm a regular at many of the dollar tree locations, and this one just happens to be on a route that I drive regularly. I come here mostly to buy a good chunk of my personal hygiene things, and cleaning supplies, but I have bought school supplies, and little snacks outside of that, which dollar tree has a ton of. I have honestly never had any negative experiences at any of the dollar tree locations; the employees have always given me support, and have been kind to me while at the register. I have always found what I needed at this location because the items are always very well stocked and advertised. It does get pretty busy here at times, but best believe that there are other open registers to make the process speed up. read more

You know that you're slow when you're wondering how much is the fancy plastic serving wear. It's a dollar store, everything is pretty much a dollar or less. Huge gift bags, Santa servers, new years attire all for a dollar. Not bad really. People are pretty friendly too. Parking can get a little dicey for a private parking lot. read more

Maybe it's because it's new but it's my favorite Dollar Tree. Clean! Less clutter! Wider aisles! Yes, I shop at Dollar Tree. No, I'm not ashamed about it. They have a craft section with great project ideas to keep kids busy on a rainy day for super cheap. Suncatchers, paint, coloring books, markers, clay... you name it. You can play with it, make a mess then just toss it! They have a lot of wedding themed stuff here... more than I've seen at other locations. Bubbles, party favor boxes etc. How much is this? $1! how much is that? $1! Love it. read more

It has been a few years, so I thought it was worth an update. Still love this place. If I need a random item and don't want to deal with a "big box' store, this is a great compromise. They have great stuff for gift wrapping and then, of course, a million things for those "one-off" purchases! This day, I needed a bucket for some home improvement stuff. Why go to Target and spend $4 when I can come here and YES...it's just a dollar. Clean, well organized. Love this place. read more

Ok, so here's the warning... I went to this Dollar Tree about a week ago, paid cash, owner or mgr rang me up. Got home and looked at receipt because i thought i'd forgotten something. I noticed that instead of one 7 cent bag he had charged me for twenty one 7 cent bags. total, just for bags, was 1.47. Not worth worrying about. BUT ! Went back today, same scenario, few things, paid cash, one bag. Same guy, owner or mgr. "Would you like bag?" "Yes". Same deal, one bag, but charge for 21 total bags = 1.47... I step to side and I'm looking at my receipt. Guy who was in line behind me is also getting 1 bag. As he is paying, owner notices me, and i can clearly see that he knows what I'm looking at. He says to present customer, "one second sir, I made an error, and adds a dollar and some change extra to the change he'd already handed the man. At this point, a young man opens the next register, I go over and explain my situation. He barely glances at my receipt then gives me back $1.50, which not only doesn't charge me for the bag, he really don't look at receipt....And...his hand was shaking like he had been caught picking my pocket. I hope people do not find this trivial. I am 100% confident that this is a common and pre arranged practice. Shame, cuz I like the store, but the guy's a crook. BEWARE !!! read more

This dollar store would be my dollar store of choice. I really appreciate how clean this place is. It's carpeted and organized well. I would even do christmas shopping here! Haha for the "just in case" gifts. But really, I do shop safe here. They have a wide variety (even kitchen eatery like plates and glasses) that don't look super cheap. I've gotten pretty glass picture frames from these guys in the past, and they even have a "Michaels/Frank's/Jo-Ann Fabrics" ish area where there's little decor items like little procelain angels and what not. There's a separate section for inflatable balloons like a party store as well. In short, I think that these guys are definitely aiming for affordable items that people may really need- not just junky trash that piles up with dust in other dollar stores. There's moving room to shop too where you won't be scared if you take a step back, you'll cause a domino effect or cause a whole aisle to collapse in like the Cave of Wonders with random packages. Dollar tree!!! I love this place!!! They have so many things you wouldn't expect them to have... all $1. I mean EVERYTHING is $1 (with the exception of the poster board, .50, awesome). Got some great supplies for my daughters project. They have a nice variety of things. I also like to get cleaning supplies, stuff for parties, party bags. I mean everything here is great. Nice store lots of variety. I come here for a variety of items some of my favorites are oatmeal, soy milk and frozen fruit, I use this stuff almost daily, so I enjoy that they offer it for cheap, saves a lot of money, and they all taste just as good or even better than what you would get at a Jewel Or Mariano's. I also come here for Mylar balloons, another great deal, they have a lot to choose from for all different occasions and for 1$ a piece you can get 3 or 4 for what you would pay for just one elsewhere. I love Dollar Tree, and I need Dollar Tree for buying several bulk items with my very small work budget. This store, in particular, has a pretty good selection of items, but the service can use some improvement. The employees are usually yelling at each other across the store, and they move pretty slowly so lines start to back up with more than 2 people checking out at a time. The manager is often on duty and he runs hot and cold with attitude toward customers; I've also heard the employees argue with him while checking out. I don't come here to see how businesses should be run, but I do come here for cheap, cute, goods...and that's what they offer. read more

I used to live in the neighborhood that this dollar tree was located in and it had thee best things you could ask for a buck! A buck! The staff is fairly friendly and they can help you when you ask them. The products are neatly placed in each aisle. Ok so if you go at night it can be a little messy but what do you expect after a long day at the dollar store where people pick stuff up everyday. They've got everything from dollar gatorades to dollar prescription itch cream (which works really well btw). The only downside is that sometimes there is only one register open which can lead to long lines. Don't worry though! The staff works fast and the lines go smoothly. Great parking spaces and plenty of it. If you wanna break the bank bring 20 dollars with you and you'll walk out like you've spent 100. read more

I came to this store the second week I came to America from Romania and it was amazing. All the employees are nice to me and never gave me a bad experience at this dollar Tree.(3521 W Devon Ave, Chicago, IL 60659) I always buy snacks , toys and things around the house and they all are great ,trust me. I had the worst customer experience at this location: 3521 W Devon Ave, Chicago, IL!.The cashier, Nikki-Jojo, was extremely rude from the start. She gave me attitude when I told her I had a reusable bag. She then refused to take my re-usable bag from me and ring me up. She said I was "messing up her system", then told me I needed to move my bag off her counter. When I challenged her and asked why she couldn't take it, she rudely cut me off and called her manager over the intercom to the front for "Customer Service". Then Nikki-Jojo told the man in back of me to step forward and she rung out this man while I was waiting there with all of my items on the conveyer belt. She refused to serve me! The manager, Jasmine, walked up to the register and didn't even blink an eye as Nikki-Jojo loudly told her that I was "being difficult" and she didn't want to ring me out because I was a "difficult customer". The manager didn't give me any eye contact and I asked her if she's going to apologize to me for her employees' behavior and she told me she "didn't want to get involved in the matter" She actually looked scared of her own employee. Funny, I thought the whole point of being a manager was to get involved and MANAGE your store and your employees? I was shocked and appalled at their behavior I promptly took my reusable bag and left the store without buying anything. Both of these employees should be fired. I will never go back. read more
