This dollar tree is located deep within the capital Plaza strip center. I like coming to Dollar tree because of the very inexpensive party supplies and greeting cards. The store looks very disheveled with many items missing off the shelves. The floors and shelves are also pretty grungy. At the rear of the store, they have just 12 freezer/refrigerated doors. You can also get helium balloons for $1.50. No alcohol sold here. 5 photos included.

    Beat up, gross floor.

Ok, so the checker was courteous and competant, there were some good items here that I couldn't find at other locations, and the products were generally put away instead of tossed randomly in the isles like some other dollar trees. ---- But the floors were just gross. Very. Looks like it hasn't been mopped in a year. The floor is also just wrecked, chipped, gouged, beat up. They do have a "now hiring" sign, so keep in mind that they are understaffed, and they are prioritizing stocking the shelves over mopping. The workers are doing what they can, but more workers would equal more stars.

Go here a lot. Not bad for $1. I wish they had frozen and cold food options and larger staff. Gets really busy. I feel bad for employees.

Stepping through the door is like visiting a hoarder's house who made a feeble attempt in trying to create a thrift store. There's a lot of clothes here and they seem to be in line with what Goodwill would price them at. This is a one to two star business, but I'll add a star since they do make an effort to help the homeless. You're more likely to walk out of here empty-handed then to find some small treasure here. There's enough parking out front and you can grab a free condom on your way out.

Today I'm looking for curtains for a friend... exactly the kind that hide light and sound. So, you understand something very durable. Guess what??? I found them here. Bee and willow curtains panels that cost normally $49 and upwards for a panel. Today I found two curtain panels in the color I needed for just $7 and when I rung out they were half off. Thank God for favor! I have it where ever I go and yes I had alittle shout in the store... two panels for $7! You can't loose. I left super excited to wash and iron the curtains and on to putting them up. They look wonderful and my friend was finally sold in me getting the job done for less than a reasonable price. I don't know what you are looking for but this is a cool spot to thrift!!

They gone done a really good job with this mall, y'all. I appreciated it years ago visiting when I was on tour and it was basically nothing, but still a hot spot for UT students. Rundown yet popular students despite not really having anything. Now they've turned it into a real fancy violin... um, I mean mall, not sure why my predictive text thinks this mall is a string instrument but anyway. So several of my friends whom are students head down here often to hang out and get boba from the popular and over-busy Gong Cha here. So it's alive, and largely because there's a bubble tea shop and a whole bunch of TVs for you to watch in the food court. So if you're at UT and spoiled by stuff to do... this is just an extra place for you to hang out and spend money and I think it's a great location and has some cool stuff as well. Parking is awful though unless you pay for the garage.

If I come off harsh, it's probably because I'm not from here and thus have no sentimental nostalgia…read moreassociated with Dobie Mall. I think this gives me an unabashed unbiased opinion when I say this place fckin sucks. The directory listed two game stores (Resurrection and Cartridge) that sounded interesting but after wandering around for 10 minutes I could find neither. Considering how tiny the mall is i must surely be an idiot for not finding the shops, right? Found an internal directory and found the exact spots. Went. Nothing. Both closed down. Easy to miss, I suppose because they were each surrounded on both sides with more closed shops. So the external directory, the internal directory, and the website (I later checked) are all wrong. Obviously "The Weitzman Group" maintains a high standard. It has an army recruiter, a nail salon, a convenience store, a hair salon, a food court, a Princeton Review, and a textbook store (which also was listed incorrectly, both in name and in the hours of operation posted online). I'm sure, containing the "college essentials," it's a nice air-conditioned place to get relax when you live in Dobie apartments right next door, but as far as malls go this place is a piece of shit. Superfluous. As useless as the three Japanese good luck cats sitting next to each other in the window of "Funny Nails" salon. Any appeal of this place extends only from convenience and no other aspect, and if you're not a UT student (who can't be bothered to walk across the 50-feet across the street to the drag,) then there is no convenience in this place, and thus no reason for it's existence.
