Out of all the tens of Dollar Trees that I now have frequented this has got to be a steadfast constant in my life. The staff seems to have a high turnover, but at the same time they do a great job at stocking everything from food to the beauty section (which TikTok has completely destroyed). I have only had a couple of bad experiences with the cashiers and sometimes they do not print out a receipt for me but other than that, I cannot believe that this place exists in this economy. I was especially happy with this Dollar Tree because they had some of the things I was looking for. It's getting impossible to find purple Sharpie ultra fine pens and anything but a multicolor package and I don't need to buy 10 pins just to get one purple. I used to find them occasionally at the Dollar Tree and then for a long time I never saw them. So now whenever I go in a Dollar Tree I look for them. This one had two. Not a lot but it still gives me two more than I had before. There were other items I was in need of while I was traveling that I found here so I left pretty happy. The clerk was very nice. I like friendly clerks. My daughter bought a bunch of snacks for our travels so we both left happy. read more

This is the second dollar tree store I came to today. Looking for valentines decor for work. No decor left. They do still have valentines gift bags and tissue paper, heart shaped boxes of chocolates and cards. They have St. Patrick's Day decor out, some Easter, some beach, and looks like the unpacking of July 4th in boxes. But, I'm pretty bummed that 2 weeks out and valentines is picked over. Maybe I should have bought St Patrick's now to avoid this same mistake. Over all, the store is a bit disarray. Isles are not very clean, and shelves are not organized. read more

This dollar tree is located deep within the capital Plaza strip center. I like coming to Dollar tree because of the very inexpensive party supplies and greeting cards. The store looks very disheveled with many items missing off the shelves. The floors and shelves are also pretty grungy. At the rear of the store, they have just 12 freezer/refrigerated doors. You can also get helium balloons for $1.50. No alcohol sold here. 5 photos included. read more

I love Dollar Tree. I find so many affordable useful things. But the one at Capital Plaza is hit and miss. Mostly misses unfortunately. It has very little as far as stock when I visit. It's not very clean. The staff is always nice though, and I am hoping the more I go, maybe the better it will get. read more

out of all the dollar tree stores I've been to this is by far the most organized and well put together store I've seen in a long time. And that is despite the location. I know that there's a lot of traffic in and out of this store and it can only be because of the staff that you have here that it remains so orderly and well stocked. this store is outside my area but I will happily travel this far again just to shop here. it was nice to have the staff stop what they were doing just to greet me when they saw me and again checked to make sure I found everything I needed during my shopping. . I arrived to Dollar Tree last night at 9:45p.m.This Dollar Tree closes at 10pm Mon.-Sat.Their hrs of operation are posted on their website as well as their front door entrance.i use public transportation so I was rushing myself to get there before they close as it was the only time I could get.never the less,I arrived 15 min prior to closing and they already had the doors locked.There was a customer checking out and the manager came to unlock the door to let him leave.I took that opportunity to ask her if they were closed even though there was nothing stating an early lock up on the web site nor the door.The manager said "yes were closed" and I asked "why" to which her response was "um because it's closing time" as she was locking the door back up.so of course I was upset because I needed supplies from the store.so I decided to wait on her to leave so I could get her name and the store number so I could properly put in a complaint.As she exited the store I asked for the store number and she replied "google it...you google everything else".I responded that I did not have the means of googling information at the time,and she just kept repeating herself "Google it,you Google everything else" while preceeding to get in her vehicle which was parked in the front entrance already! Before she shut her door I said "um mam that's very unprofessional of you,what is your name?"She continued to act ratchet saying whatever she was saying and I said "it's obvious why you will never be more than a Dollar Tree manager." Then she got out of her vehicle and got directly in my face and threatened to "whoop my ass" because I was still talking to her.Her behaviour was horrendous from the initial spark of conversation but I definitely didn't do anything to her to be treated in such a manner.I don't care if this establishment offers products for a very low price it is still a business,a brand that should hold some sort of customer service etiquette.I spend money in this establishment and did nothing wrong to this lady and her demeanor was disgusting.I worked Customer Service before I became disabled and I have never seen this type of behaviour from ANY employee,much less a person who is to hold a title such as manager.Like literally WTF.I really have no words for this,I just can't imagine that this is okay no matter how low income the area or whatever.This person should be fired.I will be filing a report for her threatening me and I know the plaza is equipped with cameras so I will be in touch with whoever I need to until something is done.This is unacceptable. read more

Ok, so the checker was courteous and competant, there were some good items here that I couldn't find at other locations, and the products were generally put away instead of tossed randomly in the isles like some other dollar trees. ---- But the floors were just gross. Very. Looks like it hasn't been mopped in a year. The floor is also just wrecked, chipped, gouged, beat up. They do have a "now hiring" sign, so keep in mind that they are understaffed, and they are prioritizing stocking the shelves over mopping. The workers are doing what they can, but more workers would equal more stars. read more

CUSTOMERS AND PEOPLE EXPERIENCING HOMELESSNESS WERE STOCKING THE SHELVES AND HELPING THE WORKER Every single aisle's floor was covered in unopened boxes and the back room was stacked to the top with boxes. Literally only had 1 worker working there. The staff are overworked and under payed. They want to raise their prices but won't pay their staff a proper living wage. They deserve to close down. That's why all these reviews are saying it's dirty. Wow, wow, wow. This is the first and last time I ever visit this location. I don't think I can ever do justice in writing to the level of crazy I experienced at Dollar Tree today, but for the sake of my fellow Yelpers reading this, I will try. Imagine a store in such a state of disarray and messiness that the only explanation you can conceive of is someone (likely evil) letting loose an army of disobedient children in the store, free to roam and run through the aisles, frantically kicking the shelves and throwing all items within reach on the floor. Imagine carpet so stained and dirty that you are relieved to be wearing shoes with a thick sole. Imagine broken glasses and vases on display, their shards picked up one by one by disturbed and seriously underpaid employees barely holding it together, trying to make sense of the chaos. That's what Dollar Tree at Capital Plaza looked like when I visited it today. It was terrible. But it doesn't even end there... Walking along the aisles, attempting to find staples such as aluminum foil and kitchen towels (it was so messy and disorganized I gave up looking for anything else), I encountered not one, not two, but three people who were sometimes quietly, sometimes loudly, talking to themselves while doing their shopping. No earpiece, I checked just to make sure. Most seemed happy and unaware of the poor state of the store. A woman giggled while looking at white plastic forks, marveling at them. She remained in that section staring at the plastic ware with glee and muttering to herself for the duration or my visit. Upon leaving, an old woman who was purposelessly haunting the plaza stopped me to talk to me, jumbled words coming out of her confused mouth. I wished her happy holidays and left as soon as I had the chance. Madness is this Dollar Tree, I tell you! Save yourself from this ghetto plaza and visit instead the Burnet Rd Dollar Tree, where floors and shelves are always clean, and where fellow shoppers are mentally stable. read more

I like to tear this sto up. From the flo up. Cards for moms, pops, tranny pops and her dog, your cousin's girlfriend's baby daddy. Decorations for that baby party, school party, drankin party, cleaning party, pimpin chefs party, work party, just got paid party. Candles and scents for the after-party. All $1. Everything. OMG. They always welcome you when you walk in and politely announce to the patrons that The Dollar Tree is not a daycare so put a bird on your barnyard creature that's out of control. Check-out is always a nice treat, too. I like the stories about the things people try to do to steal from The Dollar Tree. This location is the most convenient for me. Unfortunately, it is also the dingiest of Austin's Dollar Trees. The carpet is stained and discoloured. There is always stuff strewn about in the aisles. The shelves have a messy, picked-over look. So this has become my "in and out" location. No browsing or lingering. I just grab my usual stuff and go. read more

I was in the area to watch the purple martins roosting and decided to browse this Dollar Tree. It was the most disorganized Dollar Tree I've ever seen. The cashier even announced on the PA that children should be accompanied by the parents at all times. I guess the parents ignore this and continue to let their children wreck this store. I feel sorry for the staff who have to reorganize the shelves and pick up all the merchandise off the floor. I know when you come to dollar tree that you have to pick through stuff to find the deals but, this location brings that to a whole other level. The store is very disorganized, merchandise on the floor, things just thrown on the shelves and the same item scattered throughout the store. The employees are always super friendly and greet you when you come in but, the lines to check out are lengthy with usually only one register maybe two open. Also, they seem to be a little overworking judging from the disarray of the store. This location usually is pretty packed with families and their children running around. Messier than other Dollar Trees, but I can still manage to find what I need. I've been here twice within the last two months and both times spent more time waiting in line than I did my whole shopping trip. More than anything though, this store is so filthy. Worst customer service ever! I was there shopping for an organization, so I had quite a few items. When I walked up to the only register with the light on, the cashier, Jake, said, "SO many items, I get off in 20 minutes, are you really going to do this to me??" Ask you to do your job when you're the only register with the light on? Yeah. And they have signs posted saying if customers have over 10 items, bags are free. We had over 100, and he did not give us bags. When I asked about it, he said he didn't have any, so I asked him to go ask the other worker, and he came back with 4. He made no effort to check other registers or check the back for more bags. When I was putting my card in to pay, he said something loudly about food stamps, drawing attention from other shoppers. When I informed him that it was not food stamps, he said something else about how I should be using food stamps, and mentioned some other government assistance program, at which point I just had to say that it was NOT ANY FORM OF GOVERNMENT MONEY. So I would stay away from this Dollar Tree as long as Jake is still employed, or as long as they still allow their employees to be so rude. read more

Every time we come to this location it smells like somebody forgot to take a bath for a month, sun bathed in a kiddie pool filled with water from a soup kitchen, and wiped their backside on the carpet. They never seem to have enough staff to manage a rather busy location, so the lines are always long. Due to lack of staff, there's merchandise just laying down everywhere. The worst Dollar Tree I've ever been to. Quite possibly the worst store overall. The laziest and rudest employees who move like sloths. The store is always super dirty and empty. No merchandise. One employee told me this "The reason why the shelves are empty is because when a truck comes in it just sits in the back, sometimes there are two trucks piled back there". Who is the manager here? Probably the most unorganized dirtiest DT in ATX. The lines at the registers are constantly long. Parents( mostly Hispanic)letting kids run around knocking items over and on the floor unsupervised. While I can't say much for some of the freaky people that shop here and their wild and crazy kids, and the nasty ass carpet... the staff here is friendly and there is lots of good deals for $1 (but you gotta be careful because some of that stuff you can get elsewhere for less than $1... or sometimes you'll find products that aren't even worth a dollar, or clearance from a dollar for that matter). This Dollar Tree is right close to my house and job so I shop here several times a week. Ok, this store is pretty cool. The idea of the Dollar Tree is just awesome where everything is actually $1. That being said, I would like to state that the Dollar store idea is 5 stars but the fact that almost everything there. The store is run down but when frenzying people are rushing in there trying to find the best deals possible, it does not surprise me that it is thrashed. That being said, it is a good store to have around and the reason I give it 4 stars is how that treat me every time I go in there they seem to love my little girls, and always love being really nice to them, even though they are a serious pain in the ass every time I take them to the store. perfect example would be when I got my oldest a balloon and she let it go and it went up to the ceiling before I could even pay for it.
