I was looking for a bookstore that wasn't something from a box store. Ollie's popped up and was…read morereviewed well, so I checked it out with my son. I've never heard of Ollie's, so I really didn't have expectations going in. I just wanted books. Normally, I'd remove a full star for cleanliness (I have a South Phoenix, ghetto background), but oddly, it didn't bother me because this store is obviously very old. The book section delivered, and my son found a full fantasy book set as well as a cook book. I found a set of bowls I can use for leftovers. And wtf they have furniture?! They don't deliver, but that is listed in their rules but Jesus fuck, that's a great price! I wouldn't buy food here, but that's only because as I've grown, I've gone to bougie farmers markets in Phoenix. But if you're on a strict budget? This place is fantastic! I signed up for the rewards program (seriously, you can't go wrong with this), and the cashier explained everything. I'd 1000%, one million percent recommend this place. If you're on a budget, this is definitely worth checking. There's truly no shame in saving a few extra bucks, especially in our economy. I loved this and I will definitely return. As a side note, my mother in law would DESPISE this place, which is all the more reason for me than establish my white trash paradise. If you DO judge white trash, just remember: we have WAY more fun than middle and upper class because we don't give two f*cks about appearance. We just know how to love better on a budget.

It's easy to overspend (if you're on a budget) because you see things you didn't intent to get but you do because you can't beat the prices. Try not to take your kids because they'll be worse than you when it comes to picking one or two things. The store wasn't the cleanest BUT my expectations weren't high for that. The cashiers were nice and the people working the aisles were helpful.

AVOID: I went there yesterday. As always so many items are unpriced so I had to go to the cashier…read moreto get a price. It literally took 2 seconds for her to scan the item. I thanked her and turned away only to hear her say to the next customer in line .."she was so rude"... I said "did you just call me rude for asking for a price?!?" Yeah she kept her head down..didn't want to look up. I asked her again..no response. The customer said to me "you asked her for a price, that's not rude" I thanked her for validating me and complained to the Mgr... he said he'd speak to her. Unfortunately when I got to the register she was the only cashier. She was actually smirking. I told her to ring me up and let me get out of the store so she laughs in my face like she had done nothing wrong, said nothing wrong. To say I was livid is an understatement. The Mgr rolls up and puts his arm around her and as I left I swear he was smiling with her too. Unbelievably shoddy customer service all for asking (politely) what the price was.
